As far as Beck goes, Guero is far from his best work. Although it does kind of serve as a decent overview of most of the styles he's been through. Odelay! is completely essential listening, so you should check that out even if you don't really like Guero.
Guero does come across kind of like Odelay outtakes.

I like Mutations about as much as I do Odelay, though.

JonM 02-28-2006 07:04 PM

Does anyone really like Sea Change? I was never able to form an opinion.

"Jesse, why weren't you on the bus yesterday?"

".....Uh, Liam, yes I was. I was talking to you. What the hell are you talking about?"

"Oh.....nevermind."

I love it.

Kurtz 02-28-2006 07:09 PM

I think I've had that feeling before. I felt really light-headed after that, but I wasn't high or anything.

You're name is Liam? Sweet.

Glitterati 02-28-2006 07:11 PM
You're name is Liam? Sweet.
Yeah, named after my two grandpas, two old men named William. Unfortunately, not William Wallace :upset:

I haven't heard Mutations yet, but I've heard many people say similar things. It will be the next Beck album I get.
Does anyone really like Sea Change? I was never able to form an opinion.
Yeah, I really like it. It was the first Beck album I got.

ColdFire 02-28-2006 07:38 PM

Can someone define "azimiz?"

asymm 02-28-2006 08:01 PM

my show, "Untitled; 1970" was just accepted/uploaded into the iTunes podcast selection. Which is pretty cool - link. So, it's easy to subscribe now if you're interested.
Yeah, I really like it. It was the first Beck album I got.
Me too, but I still don't know what to make of it. But I guess that's what makes it interesting.

Little Man being Erased 03-01-2006 12:10 AM

If I recall correctly, I think I had a similar experience with it. It's a really powerful album though, which I can now appreciate. But it is an album that I can only put on when I'm in the right frame of mind.

Apologies for quoting myself, but somewhat recently someone wrote a very kind review of my show on iTunes. And I was just asking if it was anyone from here? It says Anonymous, so I'm very curious as to who it was.

It's my favourite Beck album.

I'm pretty pissed off because I did really crappily on a drama assignment today. I think it's time to readopt my policy of not caring about crap that doesn't matter.

Matt? 03-01-2006 02:48 AM

Happymeal 03-01-2006 06:20 AM

br3ad_man 03-01-2006 07:02 AM

If anyone cares, I just posted my first review in quite a while on sputnik.

Good movie. I used to always rewind it so that Elsa falls back out of the smoky pit of doom, always annoyed my sister.
Jesse died today. :upset:
o noes! R.I.P. :(

JonM 03-01-2006 10:36 AM

I really need to do something on Sputnik. That's supposeed to be the point of this place now.

I'm going to see Matisyahu in Chicago this weekend. \m/

Kyle 03-01-2006 10:57 AM

I should do more suputnik reviews, but I'm always really busy at the moment. I'd love to see Matisyahu, hopefully he will do some English dates for his new album.

Happymeal 03-01-2006 06:06 PM

I'm planning to do Keep It Like A Secret one of these days.

I like that policy.

I predict March is going to be a great month. I get to see lots of fun live music and other good shit.

Little Man being Erased 03-01-2006 06:31 PM

I've got a trip to Brisbane to see The Drones and catch up with friends and drink lots of booze to look forward to at the end of the month. Plus I get to stay in a flash hotel and eat and drink lots and it's all paid for by work.

Glitterati 03-01-2006 06:32 PM

March better be good because my February was fucking bullshit.

But I may finally be getting a job.

Hey, pikesters in NYC right now.

Lucky duck, I missed him in Long Beach last month :(
Hey, pikesters in NYC right now.
Yeah, he must be freezing his ass off right now.

But why worry about that when you're in the best city in America

YDload 03-01-2006 06:58 PM

I got the final Jeopardy question right, and none of the contestants knew it!

Damn I'm good/nerdy :):(

I have a sinus infection, a temerture of 102º, and poison oak. What better to do then go on the internet?

Get some sleep?

Daniel! 03-01-2006 07:31 PM

I already got some extra sleep this afternoon. I could probably use more though.

Oh yeah, and take a cold shower while you have a fever.

Incredible feeling.
