50 USD
I see. So with our economy it should be about £25 but is probably £250.

Doctor Night 12-09-2005 09:49 AM
What part do they extend ?

I wouldnt mind hearing the DIE chant of Creeping Death for 5 minutes.
Well they come to near the end of the song, about 7 minutes, and start Jamming, which is ok. Then, they all stop playing and for the best part of ten minutes, James and Jason, shout 'Searchin' to which the crowd reply 'SEEK AND DESTROY'. the song is 18 minutes in total. But when they actually play 'Seek and Destroy', it's very, very good.

Yea, that makes sense. That's too much to buy new. Buy it used or wait for someone to send it to you or something

Stormrider 12-09-2005 09:51 AM

Ok, im exagerating with the five minutes.

Maybe 10 minutes is too much, but I like hearing the power of the crowd singing along to sometihng.

Doctor Night 12-09-2005 09:51 AM

Buy it a second hand music shop, thats where I got mine. Works fine as well.

Yeah someone sent it in The Metal Mailing List but I couldn't download it, crappy Rapidshare.

Joe 12-09-2005 09:52 AM

Ok well its definitely is worth buying, but for anyone who wants it I'm uploading Disc 2 right now. Emails?
Yeah someone sent it in The Metal Mailing List but I couldn't download it, crappy Rapidshare.
Disc: 2
1. Through the Never
2. For Whom the Bell Tolls
3. Fade to Black
4. Master of Puppets
5. Seek and Destroy
6. Whiplash

Through the never is good, as is For Whom The Bell Tolls and Fade To Black.

Joe 12-09-2005 10:07 AM

Doctor Night 12-09-2005 10:13 AM

Is it me, or does anyone else, think they look really stupid without their long hair.

Jev 12-09-2005 10:14 AM
Is it me, or does anyone else, think they look really stupid without their long hair.
I think James kinda does. Kirk has long hair again so it's alright. Lars' short hair is alright.

Joe 12-09-2005 10:15 AM

Sometimes. I was watching a video of launch.yahoo.com of Master of Puppets in the late 90s and they all had short hair and it looked really bad

Doctor Night 12-09-2005 10:16 AM

Anyway that video is taking an age to load, I'm not highly bothered about it really.

Joe 12-09-2005 10:18 AM
Anyway that video is taking an age to load, I'm not highly bothered about it really.
Ok, it's just pretty cool.

So I hear they're in studios!

I'm hoping Kirk solos...

butch_man 12-09-2005 10:19 AM

Yeah there will be solos. Kirk said it himself.

WhoresOfTijuana 12-09-2005 10:20 AM

When Beatallica sings "Hey Dude" it reminds me of a band that used to be

Joe 12-09-2005 10:20 AM
Yeah there will be solos. Kirk said it himself.
Where'd you hear this?
When Beatallica sings "Hey Dude" it reminds me of a band that used to be
??

Anyways, welcome to MX

mr black 12-09-2005 10:21 AM
Oh okay..The only time I saw then live was on cunning stunts...and they werent tuned down half a step there..well atlest I dont think.
Well i tried playing along with this dvd, i was in standard and sounded out of tune, so yeah... they did have down tuning in that concert, it was either half a step or a full step. Personally i don't care as long as they sound good :thumb:

Jev 12-09-2005 10:28 AM
Yeah there will be solos. Kirk said it himself.
Drowned in wah probably.

Doctor Night 12-09-2005 10:29 AM

His Wah solo's are so annoying.

Joe 12-09-2005 10:33 AM
Drowned in wah probably.
Well you have to remember a lot of his solos on albums aren't. (excluding the Black album)
His Wah solo's are so annoying.
Most of them are, yea.

Jev 12-09-2005 10:35 AM

Still he uses it too much. I wish I could go back to RTL days where he used his first wah pedal on a song and broken it.

Joe 12-09-2005 10:36 AM
Still he uses it too much. I wish I could go back to RTL days where he used his first wah pedal on a song and broken it.
He still used it on those albums back in the day, as much as he does on albums now. Live, yes, he uses it too much, but not on recordings

Is anyone doing the cover competition?

Doctor Night 12-09-2005 10:37 AM

yeh all the albums from the 80's have excellent solo's. 'Master of Puppets' and Sanitarium are two of my favourite by him.

mr black 12-09-2005 10:37 AM

Haha, it can sound pretty cool at times, but yes, ever since black album Kirk has taken it one step to far, i can't really name a song anymore that he plays live without soloing with wah.

Joe 12-09-2005 10:37 AM
yeh all the albums from the 80's have excellent solo's. 'Master of Puppets' and Sanitarium are two of my favourite by him.
Fade to Black is my favorite. My favorite wah solo is The Struggle Within, he uses it really well in that song.

I would but I need recording stuff. I was gonna do Fade to Black.

Joe 12-09-2005 10:38 AM

I beat you to it, sorry... I need to find a drummer or something

Jev 12-09-2005 10:38 AM
Nope, I'd consider it if I could record myself.

Doctor Night 12-09-2005 10:39 AM
I beat you to it, sorry... I need to find a drummer or something
Oh well.

Joe 12-09-2005 10:40 AM
Oh well.
It's ok, there will be another cover competition. They get really big, the last one probably had 20 entrants.

Happy, You've got mail.

Doctor Night 12-09-2005 11:06 AM

Yeh, About that, do you know any half decent recording stuff you can get for cheap, and how you actually do it?

Yay, cheers.

Joe 12-09-2005 11:10 AM
Yeh, About that, do you know any half decent recording stuff you can get for cheap, and how you actually do it?
Actually yes. There's a good deal on musiciansfriend.com for a mic, stand and chord

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/270619/
it's $20

there are some decent mixers you can get too. once you get that you need a chord that will adapt the output jacks of the mixer and fit into your computer line in jack. it'll give you good quality, not the best. try the jam session forums too, they give tons of help.

Doctor Night 12-09-2005 12:52 PM

Oh Thanks, but I live in England.

Joe 12-09-2005 12:54 PM
Oh Thanks, but I live in England.
They do deliver to out of the USA. I'm sure there are some companies that sell similar stuff in England

Doctor Night 12-09-2005 12:58 PM

There are. Yeh, but Musicians Friend is probably the biggest in the world.
Is there a way to change the currency to UK Sterling?
