I would love to debate this if I still cared enough. |

just listened to this for the first time ever pretty bland, idk probably would've eaten it up a few years ago lol |
it seems like every single thing you listen to that you don't like is referred to as "bland"
just saying you should expand your vocabulary a little bit |
just listened to this for the first time ever
pretty bland, idk probably would've eaten it up a few years ago lol
I agree. Where You Are, Where You Want to Be is much better, in my opinion. Sirens never quite did it for me. I feel like they didn't quite have the same edge on Sirens. Holy crap, John Coltrane is so amazing. For real. That guy TEARS. IT. UP. Or, TORE. IT. UP. anyway. :p |

only if you promise
|
I promise. the rest is up to you, stormtrooper Jimmy.
|
I will. I've been in the library for weeks. It's one of the seven deadly sins.

Listening now: Explosions in the Sky – Welcome, Ghosts
I didn't know you were into that stuff |
I'm into a lot of different things. I reset last.fm and from that point on generally only scrobbled things I listened to on my computer, which would be that noisy hardcore ****. I listen to the majority of other stuff on my iPod. But now I'm in the library, and I've selected a group of music more appropriate for late night studying to listen to, as I haven't slept much recently and there is more to life than noise. I'm primarily into hardcore punk, but I got to Georgetown University and haven't found anyone else around these parts who is as well. Therefore, I spend the majority of my time with people who listen to other forms of music, and as a musician, I'm forced to play other forms of music as well (that is, if I decide to concede and play along to the tune of a different ear if only for the sake of having something to play). Ghastly City Sleep's first LP is by far my favorite of that genre, even if it doesn't fit in too snuggly. I'm also a huge fan of Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, The National, Joy Division, Stan Getz & João Gilberto, Interpol, The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, Animal Collective, Built to Spill, Mos Def, and Radiohead. Among others. The vast array of human emotion is meant to be felt, and cannot solely be expressed as an outlet of aggression. You must also account for the art of happiness and fatigue, loneliness, sadness, and kindness. Plus, punk disallows for the pursuit of certain tonal arrangements that are more suited to the piano of Thelonious Monk or the guitar of Bradford Cox. I can dig whatever.

I like that emo stuff but right now I'm jamming N.W.A's "**** Tha Police"

I'll check that out. Sirens has awesome album art. :( If this is as boring, then I'm just gonna throw on Taking Back Sunday. |
