Ah, I just read it, and yes, it's the error of the tape machines that made that and similar pieces work.

Sorry "what I've been digging lately" thread.

here's a Polish indie rock band. not TOO weird considering they are from Poland, just pleasant. all the songs are available for free d/l so check it out if youre just haphazardly searching for new music

I am remembering my love for Portishead.

Octopus Project

They're pretty awesome. Whenever I try and describe them to people I say 'they're like Battles, but ten times more poppy!', so thats what I'm going to do now.

Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass

Since it features John Darnielle on one song, and samples The Residents on another, I determined I needed to hear the entire album.

Whats the name of the track? Also, what does he sample?

ATM 12-07-2007 05:08 PM

Docter D, you going to Langerado?

asdf 12-07-2007 05:09 PM

Track is Citronella, and he samples Smelly Tongues. He samples the Snakefinger version, though, not the one from Meet The Residents.

And the Track with John Darnielle is Coffee.

Been starting to get into some post-rock so this evening I've been listening to:
Slint-Spiderland
Explosions in the Sky-The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place
Also thinking of downloading some Comets on Fire and Mogwai eventually, any albums from them or other good post rock that you guys recommend?

Comets on Fire aren't post rock.

They're pain.

Listen to Blue Cathedral.

HAVE U EVEN HEARD "DOGWOOD RUST" AND "THE SWALLOW'S EYE"?!?!?! WTFFFFFFF

Plus Blue Cathedral is more jam based while Avatar is more song based so you can't really compare. The Burning Star Core split almost destroys Blue Cathedral though, but that's because it destroys the very universe itself.

In other news, last night I spent 4 hours at Sydney airport waiting for my delayed flight. Needless to say I was slightly drunk by the time I finally got on a plane.

Anus Invader 12-07-2007 07:41 PM

i watched England play Portugal in last year's World Cup from an airport bar

they had really bad cheeseburgers. i was totally unsatisfied

I saw them earlier in the year. The singer was cute and the guitar dude kicked ***.

i dunno dude avatar's not bad or anything, but i don't think they pull off the more proggy stuff well. kind of bland but there are some good moments

Downloaded a bunch of albums I knew I should have:

Thom Yorke- The Eraser
Death From Above 1979- You're A Woman, I'm A Machine
Air- Talkie Walkie and Moon Safari

All of them are fantastic, I'm loving The Eraser particularly. I also downloaded Architecture In Helsinki's In Case We Die again, I forgot how much I loved this album.
