It's totally different from pr0n.

I feel so weird.
All my life I've never wanted children. I hated them. Honestly, I thought they were sacks of boiling fecies wrapped in cute candy coated outsides.
Now for the last like three months I've really been thinking a ton about getting married(if that's ever actually going to be possible) and having two children.
I hate it. It's driving me insane.
Everybody keeps telling me it's normal and it's really not helping, dammit.

I got thrown around a lot tonight. I did my share of throwing as well.

Motleyguy 01-25-2006 01:33 AM
Wow, I just relized I actually like A perfect circle. Alot. For some reason I couldn't get into them. Today my friend talked me into buying "13th step", and I absolutely love it!
that is an amazing album, one of my favourites.

Josiah 01-25-2006 02:17 AM

haha no.. though one guy is pretty short. Aikido class actually. Though using midgets would be fun...

derryk 01-25-2006 02:29 AM

What exactly is Aikido? What's it most comparable to?

Josiah 01-25-2006 02:31 AM

" Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba (often referred to by his title 'O Sensei' or 'Great Teacher'). On a purely physical level it is an art involving some throws and joint locks that are derived from Jujitsu and some throws and other techniques derived from Kenjutsu. Aikido focuses not on punching or kicking opponents, but rather on using their own energy to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. It is not a static art, but places great emphasis on motion and the dynamics of movement."

Taken from the introduction page of http://www.aikidofaq.com

Comparable to Jujitsu or Judo. Though it lacks in striking (there are no aikido strikes), where as Judo and Jujitsu have striking elements.

Aikido is based a lot on circular motions and deflection. Many of the moves are rather devistating in so much as the attacker can be thrown rather far and hard. Lots of throws, locks or throws that involve lock elements.

derryk 01-25-2006 02:38 AM

So it's all based around ki? Hence the whole "using your opponents energy against him" thing?

Sounds pretty cool.

On a brighter note, I found out I have bad coordination today. I also have a lot of work for my next drum lesson. And I have to coach a basketball game tomorrow/study for my last midterm. And it's 1:42. And things are piling up slowly..

Yes, there is also a whole side to aikido that gets into the "Ki" stuff. the unbreakable arm, unbreakable stance, etc

Uses some interesting techniques to illict physical responses.

derryk 01-25-2006 02:50 AM

Sounds interesting to get into, to say the least.

Other than that.. 2AM is much too late for poor souls like me:rolleyes:

I'm outta here.

Drum Phil 01-25-2006 06:55 AM

God this place is going pretty slow lately.

Im starting composing my solo today. Only doing snare so you call all hear my baby.

Jezen 01-25-2006 07:04 AM

Ugh. Stupid Burns anniversary. They are serving Haggis for school dinner. Ewwwww...

jalel 01-25-2006 07:07 AM

Wish they offered akido classes at my college, believe you me I would take them. If worse comes to worse though, a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick to the face will always work:thumb:

EDIT: to BB

If you ever come to America, and decide to go to the "South," NEVER I repeat NEVER let wnyone try to talk you into trying chitlins....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

owned

crazyguy832 01-25-2006 07:40 AM

Aikido sounds cool. A bit like MMA in a way.

I've never liked styles that negate one aspect of fighting, however (hence why I don't take TKD).

Drum Phil 01-25-2006 07:44 AM

I did Tae Kwon Do once. My instructor went into kidney failure and died though

crazyguy832 01-25-2006 07:49 AM

Ouch.. that sucks.

TKD is usually a style to avoid... they amount of McDojos out there that do it are just astronomical.
Whats the cheapest intermediate kit on the market in the UK?
Mapex M or Sonor 2005

If you have enough, look into the Pro m , 3005, PDP and Yamaha SCA.

Talos 01-25-2006 11:20 AM

id love a PDP, I think ill save up for a better kit.

Talos 01-25-2006 11:21 AM

Instead of buying one soon, ill wait until August and get what I can afford and then just buy cymbals until then

Der Meister 01-25-2006 11:23 AM

I think that double post was deliberate, you were spamming last night aswell. If you keep it up, you will be reported.
