And yes, that other one does seem to be highly influenced by Radioheads artwork.
^ I agree. I still refuse to believe this is real.
oh yeh because tool have never been off-the wall ironic in the past.

I'm too psyched for the album now!

toolfreak 03-12-2006 06:34 AM

lol on toolshed someone emailed blair bout the artwork and he said thats all fake but tracklists are real...

Shadius 03-12-2006 10:07 AM

I agree with the Radiohead comparisons on that artwork, thats why I honestly think they're fake, Tool should be way more original.

Has everyone forgotten about that artwork that guy did for Tool site? Maybe the album artwork will be like that. With the organs turning into machines and such. Like the heart/axe thing I seem to remember. Overall it looked really organic/machinical, I really liked it. What ever happened to that?

Anyway, onto the tracks, based just on the names:

Vicarious - Sounds okay.

Jambi - A place in Indonesia? Seems fairly random.

Wings For Marie (Pt 1) - Pink Floyd ripoff part 1?

10,000 Days (Wings Pt 2) - Pink Floyd (Pt 2)

The Pot - The Grudge, the Patient, The Package, The Noose, The Outsider, The Hollow; only with a worse name?

Lipan Conjuring - Sounds okay, and to be honest, based on that one review of the album the guy said Maynard went all North American Indian for no reason; this could be the track.

Lost Keys (Blame Hofmann) - Sounds terrible and stupid, amiright?

Rosetta Stoned - Sounds funny and really cheesy. Stone, stoned, lolz, lolz.

Intension - Sounds pretty bland.

Right In Two - I don't know, it dosn't sound very toolish somehow, but maybe it could be.

Viginti Tres - 23 in Spanish? Why Spanish? Sounds okay, I guess, otherwise.

Half the tracks sound okay... but just overall there are some really bad/cheesy/bland names there. A bit disappointing if this ever did turn out to be the real thing.

I can't wait to hear the music, regardless.

Otherside 03-12-2006 10:46 AM

23 in latin actually... spanish would be veintitrés

Kage 03-12-2006 10:48 AM

Is German not good enough for them anymore?

Dreiundzwanzig!

Shadius 03-12-2006 10:48 AM

Ah Latin, well, that makes it more Toolish, being a dead language and all.

Kage 03-12-2006 10:50 AM

That track list is like the opposite of sex: When it's good, it's okay, but when it's not good, it's bad.

Reywas 03-12-2006 10:58 AM

The Pot will be the single

JamJar 03-12-2006 11:16 AM
The Pot will be the single
If so, good ol' controverisal Tool.

EDIT: And the 23 thing? It must be fake. Remember the fake listing of 'Aldaraia' had a song called 23.

Reywas 03-12-2006 11:23 AM

it's plausible

Kage 03-12-2006 11:27 AM

I'm surprised there isn't a song called Real Eyes Realize Real Lies.

lawlz.

omgwtfboogie 03-12-2006 03:38 PM

Leave it to Tool fans to get upset over track names.

I'm guessing the 'Hofmann' mentioned in the LK title is the infamous person responsible for the invention of LSD.

Rosetta Stoned would obviously have something to do with a cryptic meaning.

The rest aren't as apparent right now.

lucky luciano 03-12-2006 05:41 PM

I was kinda hoping they would have some guest musicians on this album but I guess not.

I'm happy because there aren't any.

Spiritofmosa 03-12-2006 11:55 PM

i'm listening to maynard feat deftones in passenger

mudvayne420 03-13-2006 12:03 AM

hey guys i figured out something pretty intresting if you play lateralus, eon blue apocalypse, and faaip de oiad in order its cool. in like about 24 seconds in eon blue apocalypse, its sounds like the bass ending to lateralus and if you listen really closely in eon blue, in the end you'll hear like static then if you have like cool edit pro or adobe audition then just put in faaip de oiad when it sounds like something started is when eon ends. its cool, but i like the eon lateralus thing.

don't say a thing just give it a listen then tell me you don't hear the similarities, maybe these songs were meant to be together.

Because Tool is SO cryptic, I mean, everything they do is all shrouded in mystery and OMG so intellectual.

Well most of their song titles are cryptic and have no direct meaning. I think most people take pleasure in having another factor to the music. It's fun trying to find out what it all means.

Reywas 03-13-2006 07:44 AM

Love the avatar, who's the girl?

If they were like

"hey, we FINALLY realized that this title sounds too much like Disturbed's 10,000 fists. Considering how much they suck, and we do not...

we changed the album name to.... "

C, better already

Shadius 03-13-2006 08:24 AM

I think a self titled would be cool. Maybe as Tool's last album though. There's something definitive and final about it.
