NP: The Wildhearts - Geordie In Wonderland
Oh how I love this song. |
Hah, thanks, Ray. I'll just put it on, since both you and Jom on msn said go for it.
In other news, my friend wishes to form a black metal band. With me, him and two chicks, one of them being my girlfriend. That's gonna be weird.
Black Metal>you I don't think I got your guys' inside joke :( |
Black Metal, you mean like Living Colour? That song "Cult of Personality" was pretty good.
NP: The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed |
Black Metal, you mean like Living Colour? That song "Cult of Personality" was pretty good.
NP: The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
Black metal, like evil corpse paint metal. :) I'm wanna look somewhat normal though. :p |
Dammit, I should have realized that joke would have failed because I'm the only person here who knows who Living Colour is :(
|
Dammit, I should have realized that joke would have failed because I'm the only person here who knows who Living Colour is :(
They're black all right, but not metal. :) I get it. |
NP: The Wildhearts - Geordie In Wonderland
Oh how I love this song.
I really don't know how much local pride I have... but the wildhearts are great, so that wins...also it appears Jom has abandoned the crue. If he goes, I go, and it lasted not a day... |
I didn't abandon the Crue, its memory will sift through my head. It's just that when you get paralleled to Dargon's "Death to Poseurs" crew, then that's no good, and the situation must be remedied.
|

Isn't that song on GTA though?
They're black all right, but not metal. I get it.
Yeah, I knew it was a joke, just wasn't sure what it meant. I guess something like that though. |

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/zeppelinfan2k3/dargon.gif refl, I remember that. In other news, who wants to remind me how to find the eigenvalues of a 3x3 matrix? |
What is one of those thingies?
|
Guitar Question:
Dean Markley .011 (0.28mm) is that the b string? I think it is, but just to make sure, thanks. :)
That would be a B string, unless you play with really thick strings and it would be your high E string. |
^^ With the gauge I play, that's the high E string.
|
Shadows : Have you seen the Diamond For Disease artwork? Its crazy good.
|
^^ With the gauge I play, that's the high E string.
A real man then :thumb: I'm going to pick up a set of them and see if I can get my guitar (which is meant for detuning) down to Cryptopsy levels. |
I don't see the point in down tuning anything further than D. Extreme low keys don't really make a difference for me.
|
A real man then :thumb: I'm going to pick up a set of them and see if I can get my guitar (which is meant for detuning) down to Cryptopsy levels.
Hahahaha, thank you. I love a heavier string. With the music I like to play (tuned in D or C) anything lighter gets too slack when I drop it down.
Shadows : Have you seen the Diamond For Disease artwork? Its crazy good.
I sure have. It's excellent. Much better than A Celebration of Guilt, even though I loved that one too. I don't know how much longer I can wait for the mp3. |
The only thing I get out of it is the misspelling of "poseur" makes it "Poesur" and it's funny 'cause Edgar Allen Poe was all about death.
Other than that.... 6_6
The irony is the fact that out of all of MX, Joe was probably the most anti death to poseurs. |
I sure have. It's excellent. Much better than A Celebration of Guilt, even though I loved that one too. I don't know how much longer I can wait for the mp3.
Me too, im checking back everyday for the sound bites. Me and you are such Arsis whores  Jake : That is true, but i have changed quite alot. My exploration of the Folk/Ambient Black Metal genre especially has made me quite elitist. |
Me too, im checking back everyday for the sound bites.
Me and you are such Arsis whores
Yeah. If they didn't have so little material released so far they would easily be one of my favorite bands. I still can't believe we're the only ones around here though! With a band like that I figured they'd be really popular around MX. Oh well, I guess that just means that when they release their second album and 5,000,000 people realize how amazing they are we'll be the ones who can say we've loved them from the start. |
Jake : That is true, but i have changed quite alot. My exploration of the Folk/Ambient Black Metal genre especially has made me quite elitist.
It's no problem I am just pointing out that the person who would most like to join is the person who raged a crusade against it :p. |

Thats true. If they add some more melody, they will be a very popular Melodic Death Metal band. At the minute, they are very brutal for Melodic Death, but i hope they don't go more Melodic, i like them how they are. |
Yeah, under careful Death Head tutelage, Joe is quite the knowlegable poster over there.
You still have work to do, however, Joe-san :p |
Haha, i know more about some genres of Extreme Metal than you dude.
:p |
Me and you are such Arsis whores
You didn't use to be 88_fingers_joe, by any chance... |
Yes i did Leah, why do you ask?
|
Yes i did Leah, why do you ask?
Ok. Then you were the one who got me into Arsis. |

I love how heavy they are. Something for people who love melodic and technical music as well as people who prefer more extreme stuff. The only thing I hope they change is James' solo tone, which I found very weak and feeble sounding. It was odd. He's one of my favorite vocalists in metal right now though.
Ok. Then you were the one who got me into Arsis.
What about me? You know, the one who uploaded several songs and gave several paragraphs of info on them? :( I made a huge deal about them in the CoB thread way back when. |
I lost track of how many times i whored Arsis to people. Me and Shadows were always at it. And Shadows : To an extent i agree, but the solo tone on Wholly Night was incredible. It was the best solo in DM i have ever heard. |
Dammit, I should have realized that joke would have failed because I'm the only person here who knows who Living Colour is :(
A better band for the joke is God Forbid. True story, a few years back, god forbid was opening a show, and a large portion of the band is black, as they are setting up you hear a bloke yelling "God Forbid is playing? I LOVE BLACK METAL!" got a good laugh |

I hope they go with even longer and crazier solos in the new stuff. I felt like they were holding back throughout the whole album and Wholly Night was the only glimpse of what they can really do. Their riffs are equally as good as their solos. And since A Diamond for Disease os over 12 minutes, it has to be jam-packed full of riffs and solos. \m/ (><) \m/ I can't fucking wait. |
Arsis is ok...there's a lot better MDM bands out there though.
Man, first day of school is so fucking BORING! Although this year, for the first time ever, i actually have somebody I know in all of my classes... Music theory teacher is pretty laid back...Spanish teacher is awesome (he likes Tool and King Crimson, among others), and the rest seem ok. Summer's over though... :upset: |
What MDM is better than Arsis Shattered?
|

You know, the one who uploaded several songs and gave several paragraphs of info on them? :( I made a huge deal about them in the CoB thread way back when.
Always thinking I overlook you, babe. /shakes head Tsk tsk. I remember, and the uploads were great because I only had one song back then. NP: Living Dead Beat - Children of Bodom |
You called someone on the internet babe.
Thats wierd. |
You called someone on the internet babe.
Thats wierd.
:amaze: I actually didn't know I did that until you mentioned it. hmm. It's a habit unfortunately. |
I wouldn't do it when the other guys are around, you know how much attention they lavish on you.
|
Arsis is ok...there's a lot better MDM bands out there though.
Sounds like I should make an appointment for you to meet Mr. Meatgrinder.
What MDM is better than Arsis Shattered?
There aren't any. He foolishly lies.
Always thinking I overlook you, babe. /shakes head Tsk tsk. I remember, and the uploads were great because I only had one song back then.
It's nice to get some recognition once in a while. :) |
The irony is the fact that out of all of MX, Joe was probably the most anti death to poseurs.
I think he was just vehemently anti-Dargon. :p EDIT: Wow, Leah's here! :attention: |
That i was, although now i wish he was back in some ways. He got me into Arsis and Argholsent, two bands i really like now, but now im more into PM, his mindless Angra bashing would anger me.
Double edged sword really. |
