I don't know what it is about sticks, I just like the warr guitars better. It's probably the body, it seems like you'd get a better tone with a body. Plus it would be easier to play conventionally with as well. Plus you can get them with uncrossed strings. That makes me happy. :D
Its a 4 string?

Pics?
Yes it is, 1985. I'll take some pics right now.

Shipping would probably be inconcievable huh?

Aerodyne 10-04-2006 11:53 PM

Not if you give the ups guy a little something special. :naughty:

Like more money to pay for the inconcieveable shipping costs.

Jody LeCompte 10-04-2006 11:56 PM

I'd love more vintage basses but Id NEVER feel secure shipping something more than a mile down the road.

UPS here is worthless as hell, and you know it judd

serial number L85 is the important part because it means that it was made in 1985

Minor dings, through paint, but nothing too major

Sorry about the bad quality, but I have a really crappy camera.

About $50 each with a few taxes when they cross the border. Maybe about $40 in taxes.

I'm not a big fan of black basses, they show grime to easily.

They've been reliable in shipping me pedals and strings and such. :upset:

I like ordering stuff online, it's a nice feeling when somebody knocks on you door and says, "Sign here please." Then he hands you a box and you're like, "Huh?" Then, when you open the box you're like, "OMGWTFBBQ! I didn't order this! Oh. Wait. Oh, yeah I did. Cool. Pedals and strings and such." *Lays on bed and plugs in phaser with fuzz and envelope filter and does pick scrapes on fresh prosteels*

So. What was I saying?

Jody LeCompte 10-05-2006 12:02 AM

My mom is giving me all sorts of crap for the small instruments Im buying because she doesn't think her perfect prodigy musician son should play anything but classical piano and upright bass.

thelowsoundofbass 10-05-2006 12:03 AM
I'm not a big fan of black basses, they show grime to easily.
It takes about 30 seconds to wipe it down once you are done with it. Right now it hasn't been wiped down in about 10 playings and it looks good still. From more than a foot away you can't even see the finger prints.

Aerodyne 10-05-2006 12:04 AM

Tell her to go buy you a piano and an upright, then I'll come steal the piano and lug it up three flights of stairs to my room. Then convince her that the only way you can ease the pain of losing the piano (which was like a child to you) is to accumulate enough instruments to have to hire a piano tuner to restring all of them. /problem solved

I want to buy an electric guitar and a new four string frtted.

Then Ill either buy pedals or go into "Buy everything with strings" mode until I get my license next july.

EDIT: She doesnt understand that I dont want to have crappy gear and spending 500 dollars on an upright won't cut it.

Its not as sexy as a 20 year old guitar should be :(

I want a fretless P deluxe to match my fender

Seriously though, my dad is trying to snag my sisters old sax for me. Thatd be so sweet.

blizzard 10-05-2006 12:14 AM

Well my parents woke up.... I've pretty much have lost their trust for like quite a while.

Jody LeCompte 10-05-2006 12:15 AM

Do what I do when I get depressed.

Spend a months salary on an instrument you don't need.

ebe9 10-05-2006 12:18 AM

Morning all.

blizzard 10-05-2006 12:20 AM

That might just work.... except I don't have money to spend.

Aerodyne 10-05-2006 12:22 AM

Morning Hobbes.

How so?

blizzard 10-05-2006 12:27 AM

I got stupidly drunk last night and I was suppose to pick them up from the airport this morning but couldn't because I was still drunk. I drank like 3/4 of a 600ml (i think) bottle of Rum. Its the only time I have ever done that and like yeah definately not good.

Pluperfect_Arson 10-05-2006 12:29 AM

I just came back from my birthday dinner and whatnot.

Then I went to Guitar Centre, and had the plan on buying cabs, but I ended up with an Ibanez SR506. :amaze:

Impulse buys FTW. I would but like I don't carry enough money on me ever to do that.

Aerodyne 10-05-2006 12:31 AM

I've not gotten a new bass in a while. Well, except for the peavey, but it doesn't count. I'm making it into a rickenbacker when I find the cash.

I only had three hundred on me, and I wasn't actually planning on buying anything, but my mum spotted me the other 326$ because of my birthday.

She said that she has know that I have wanted one for a long time, and so she was actually happy to buy it for me.

I wanted to look at cabs and whatnot, but my mum actually insisted that I buy the SR506. I was like "Mum?"

Also, I might be hired there when I submit my application.

It was either the SR506 or the TRB, but I didn't have the extra cash for the TRB. I will just buy cabs some other time as well.

Yeah, this is my first bass in like two years.

My bass that I had been playing on was a Schecter AB-5 that I bought off of Portugal, The Man's bassist for 50$ at a random show. :amaze:

That was after having played a GSR200 for a year and a half.

Yeah it was definately the stupidest thing I've ever done (bar maybe walking across snow in a T shirt and thongs), all remember is going to bed but apparently I was up most of the night throwing up and then passing out several times.

Aerodyne 10-05-2006 12:35 AM

I wish I lived close enough to a GC to work there. :upset:

I haven't really contributed anything to the conversation tonight. I feel bad. I like being at least somewhat useful. Quick, somebody go post a thread about what bass should you buy so that I can tell you to get a P or a J or an Ibanez or a used bass so I can feel useful again. Oh well, I'll probably just go to bed. I'd like to get some sleep.

HELLonWHEELS 10-05-2006 12:37 AM

My stupid move was running at full speed into a knee high concrete wall.

My knee still pops every time I straighten my leg.

Aerodyne 10-05-2006 12:39 AM

Wow Hell. We joined at the same time and have almost the same number of posts. Cool. March 2005 crew FTW. I think. It's probably just the two of us. Okay, I mean it this time.
