Even when my dad wasn't performing that night I'd be at bars, though. Smokey hole-in-the-wall type.

bleep_bloop 01-01-2007 10:39 PM

same with me except replace bars with galleries/art openings

dei 01-01-2007 10:41 PM

I wish I could've been born to more artsy parents.

That's pretty sweet. We had a starving artist friend of my parents living in my basement for a couple years. He painted some sweet stuff, and some caricature-esque family portraits for us.

Boilermaker 01-01-2007 10:44 PM

My parents own a french resteraunt.

bleep_bloop 01-01-2007 10:44 PM

both my parents are artists so ive always been around art. and it seems like all their friends and all my neighbors are artists too.

dei 01-01-2007 10:45 PM

If both your parents are artists, why are you so bad at it?

Boilermaker 01-01-2007 10:46 PM

Pwnt To Da Max!

bleep_bloop 01-01-2007 10:47 PM

aw shi't

you've never seen any of my art

My parents have always been into music, and all their friends are artists and/or musicians. It's pretty cool.

Boilermaker 01-01-2007 10:54 PM

Neither of my parents are music nuts, nor are many of my friends. I can't credit all that many people on introducing me to all the punk and alternative bands that I listen to, because I found all that myself.

Basically, I don't get my love for music and art from them at all.

bleep_bloop 01-01-2007 10:58 PM

i grew up with the talking heads and frank zappa

br3ad_man 01-01-2007 10:58 PM

My parents don't even listen to music. Seriously.

Boilermaker 01-01-2007 11:01 PM

My parents listen to music, just nothing that I listen to. My Mom actually likes Weezer a lot now that I think of it, but that's the extent of it really.

ATM 01-01-2007 11:11 PM

My dad loves Zappa, my mom mainly listens to classical.

Boilermaker 01-01-2007 11:15 PM

Oh, and my dad listens to Bon Jovi and stuff like that. He actually turned me on to AC/DC and Pink Floyd which sent my out in a bajillion different directions. But yea, mah 'rents are chill.

bleep_bloop 01-01-2007 11:19 PM

bon jovi sucks the dick

Boilermaker 01-01-2007 11:23 PM

I agree, that's why I didn't include them in the 2 mentioned artists that sent me in a bajillion different directions.

bleep_bloop 01-01-2007 11:35 PM

ac/dc also sucks the dick

Boilermaker 01-01-2007 11:36 PM

I disagree.

FA 01-01-2007 11:44 PM

anyway I watched a movie tonight and I have to say it was horrible...It was boring, disgusting and stupid. It's called "Jenifer"...i didn't pick it out but hey whatevs...don't watch it it sucks..

edit: the guy from wings is the lead actor and there's like 20 words of dialogue, it's 58 minutes long and all it is is a disfigured girl with a sexy body has sex all the time, eats kids and has this affair with a cop (the wings guy). Her body is nice but her face is disgusting in the film...google it...sers

The Great Decay 01-01-2007 11:45 PM

The last movie I watched was A Scanner Darkly.

bleep_bloop 01-02-2007 12:06 AM

im going to watch the proposition in a little bit

FA 01-02-2007 12:17 AM

pixiesfanyo 01-02-2007 12:25 AM
The last movie I watched was A Scanner Darkly.
Good movie.

FA 01-02-2007 12:30 AM

I've heard mixed reviews about ASD...whaddya think? Worth seeing or no?

pixiesfanyo 01-02-2007 12:36 AM

If you've never done drugs it wouldn't make much sense.

It makes you feel like you are influenced.

Zmev 01-02-2007 12:39 AM

I'm watching Clerks again tonight, so of course everyones seen that.

FA 01-02-2007 12:41 AM

Any specific drugs? My drug resume isn't all that impressive...(no lsd, acid, heroin, cocaine, meth..etc)

bleep_bloop 01-02-2007 12:46 AM
Any specific drugs? My drug resume isn't all that impressive...(no lsd, acid, heroin, cocaine, meth..etc)
lol, lsd and acid are the same thing

FA 01-02-2007 12:50 AM

my bad...i thought for a sec it might be then decided it wasn't...i'm not keen on drugs :p

bleep_bloop 01-02-2007 12:56 AM

thats ok. lsd stands for Lysergic acid diethylamide. its the scientific name for acid.

pixiesfanyo 01-02-2007 12:59 AM

Uh oh. Gotta scientist on the board.

Anyways, it's more if you've done harder ****.

But whatever it might be enjoyable otherwise.

FA 01-02-2007 01:01 AM

Hmm, I smoke pot occasionally...and tried ecstacy...that's it...I should just check it out anyways :p

Glitterati 01-02-2007 01:06 AM

I watched Pi tonight. Trippy.

FA 01-02-2007 01:09 AM

Yea, tele, muff and I had a long convo about that in the pit...it's an odd movie...but I like it.

Kage 01-02-2007 01:39 AM
I watched Pi tonight. Trippy.
Yeah I like it much better than either Requiem for a Dream or the Fountain.

br3ad_man 01-02-2007 02:19 AM

The Fountain isn't out here yet, but Pi was way better than Requiem.

I watched Blue Velvet today, it was pretty great.

Kage 01-02-2007 02:20 AM

Indeed it is pretty great. Seeing it in the theater was awesome.

br3ad_man 01-02-2007 02:22 AM

I saw some Woody Allen movies in an old theatre when I was there this year. Watching older movies in the cinema is awesome.

Hey, since you have a David Lynch avatar, what should I see of his next?
