Actually Leah has Pneumonia and is in the hospital. :upset: I'm probably going to go visit her today. The reason I haven't been on is my grandfather is moving and we have been helping him, so I haven't had time to do anything.
That's awful :upset: We should do something when she gets back

/thinking hard

flamesofbodom 08-11-2005 09:10 AM
Yeah I've spent a while writing a song that I just end up junking in the end anyway, it's too bad.
I hate when i do that. It happens more than i'd hope too

Like...post something?

flamesofbodom 08-11-2005 09:23 AM

......shut up......

I dunno...send her a funny song that will make her feel better

Shadows 08-11-2005 09:25 AM

Yeah...it would be nice to do something, but we're pretty limited over the internet.
That's awful :upset: We should do something when she gets back

Yeah, I was trying to think of somthing that we could do for her too.
......shut up......

I dunno...send her a funny song that will make her feel better
Thats not a bad idea.

Or maybe make some kind of thread or somthing.

Shadows 08-11-2005 09:46 AM

I was just thinking we could at least start a thread for her in the Hatecrew forums.

flamesofbodom 08-11-2005 10:08 AM

Or we could do both.
Holy ****, I just listened to one of DEP's songs and it was absolute crap. The guitars weren't even in time with the vocals, which sounded 10 times worse than Alexi's, and the drums sounded horrible. Whoever cancelled Symphony X for these guys should be shot.

I totally with CoB was on Gigantour. Would have actually been a better choice than Anthrax.
I can see that you don't get jazz/tech metal like DEP.

IheartSP 08-11-2005 05:00 PM

How does Alexi do all those tours while singing like he does? I sang along with Warheart and my throat kills already.

Shadows 08-11-2005 05:13 PM

You have to practice to keep your throat in shape just like an instrument. The more you sing the bigger your range and stamina will become.

AA-12 08-11-2005 06:56 PM

You just have to learn to sing and do proper practice. I personally can sing/scream for hours and not hurt, but I do get a bit tired. Like ShadowsFallen said, it's just an instrument.

What kind of exercises can you do for singing?

Also what kind of exercises can you do for screaming?

Go to the Jam Session forum and have a word with Merkaba.

Shadows 08-11-2005 08:03 PM

Can anybody around here do a really good death metal growl?

IheartSP 08-11-2005 09:22 PM

I think I do an ok Bodom, it's not great, but it's not too bad. It only last like 3 minutes tho.

FlyingPaul_83 08-11-2005 09:24 PM

I can sing the chorus to kissing the shadows  but thats it, my throat hurts after.

flamesofbodom 08-11-2005 09:26 PM
Can anybody around here do a really good death metal growl?
I can sing along to In Flames but thats about as good as i can do. Oh and i dont get tired

IheartSP 08-11-2005 09:35 PM

I'd be much happier if I could sing for real.

Shadows 08-11-2005 09:36 PM

I just accept I'm not a vocalist. I come from a family of singers so I kind of enjoy being the only one who plays an instrument instead of singing.

MRDuCran 08-11-2005 09:38 PM

I was thinking aobut asking in here for some advice on how to get the Alexi sound. I was also thinking, when you do it, is it loud so anyone around you can hear it or would you have to rely on a mic to get the volume?

I'm wondering coz i can do i good but its really quiet, if i try out loud it just sucks.

IheartSP 08-11-2005 09:43 PM

I can't do it quiet, only loud. I try and use a rasp from the bottom of my throat, it really hurts tho.

MRDuCran 08-11-2005 09:47 PM

Oh right, i guess i just need to start practising doing it loud then. I've read one of Merkaba's threads but when i listened to his demonstration it didn't sound how i wanted to...maybe i should look at some more.

Hells Bells 08-11-2005 10:38 PM

It would be awesome to be able to do that, but you need a low voice to be able to pull it off, so it's something I'll never be able to do. Oh well lol, I'm happy playing piano and guitar.

IheartSP 08-11-2005 10:41 PM

man I'm so bored, if anyone wants to chat on AIM my sn is Aceshigh616

Hells Bells 08-11-2005 10:51 PM

Wow..does no one use msn? I thought everyone had stopped using AIM and ICQ until I came on these forums.

IheartSP 08-11-2005 10:54 PM

I can't not use AIM, all my friends use it, and getting the 100 people on my buddy list to switch is a lost cause.

Hells Bells 08-11-2005 10:56 PM

hehe it's completely opposite for me, everyone I know uses msn.

IheartSP 08-11-2005 10:57 PM

must be a local thing

Moses 08-11-2005 10:58 PM

It depends on different areas. My area uses AIM. I think it could be just bigger cities use AIM and in smaller suburbs and rural areas they use MSN.

Shadows 08-11-2005 11:03 PM

Everyone in my area uses AIM. I had never heard of anyone using anything else until I came here.

IheartSP 08-11-2005 11:15 PM

I live in a rural area and we use AIM

Shadows 08-11-2005 11:20 PM
I live in a rural area and we use AIM
Haha, you're rural.

I'm urban. :upset:

IheartSP 08-11-2005 11:23 PM

i wish iw as urban i hate it here

Hells Bells 08-11-2005 11:26 PM

meh, it's all good, AIM or MSN...maybe I should get AIM though if so many people use it lol. Anyway, Moses I have a question for you. I know you play piano, and I was wondering whether you've ever found any of bodom's keyboard tabs or sheet music. Sheet music would be better, but I know that that's d amn near impossible to find.

Shadows 08-11-2005 11:26 PM

It's not really that great. We have stuff nearby but it's not the nicest place.

Hells Bells 08-11-2005 11:30 PM

The area I live in is technically a part of Toronto, but it's nowhere near the actual city. It's right at the edge of the sprawling suburbs, and pretty well isolated from everything.

Moses 08-11-2005 11:36 PM

I'm urban too. The peers are so much less snobby. I don't think I've ever tried any Bodom but I've never seen any sheet music or tabs for piano. I'll probably look into that. The Bodom keyboardist is the best part of that band for me and I think he pwns Alexi. Never found his stuff to be that hard though.

/shows off.

IheartSP 08-11-2005 11:40 PM

It's so easy to find any sheet music, just get guitar pro.

Shadows 08-11-2005 11:41 PM

It's been proven that Alexi is better than Janne.
