thats cool.

Kithkin 12-04-2007 07:21 PM

That is prettyn cool.

And by next few months, you mean years, right?

obese_breasts 12-04-2007 07:40 PM

They asked if she would be in LA for the next 2-3 months, so whatever that means

DougJI 12-08-2007 06:24 PM

It would appear this rumor is true. Reports like this have been springing up in a few different places it would seem.

StreetlightRock 12-09-2007 07:47 AM

ohmyholygodf'uckohyes.

Just came back from seeing SM, Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake.

omgomgomg.

Like, don't get me wrong, Streetlight are my favorite band ever since the beginning of everything that is good and holy in the world, but LtJ and RBF live have got to be some of the most fun I've had ever. Like f'ucking ever. Maybe it was because SM only played like 5-6 songs, but still. Arrggh. I wanna see them do a full set. What a show.

Liebensaft 12-09-2007 08:45 PM

I saw that same show, and aside from the brief time Streetlight was on, I was wishing I was dead/had not paid as much money as I did for one "opening" band. Less Than Jake were extremely gay, played awful songs, and had a corny, stupid Price is Right gimmick going on. Reel Big Fish played for 8 hours, played the same song 10 times, and acted like douchebags. We left as they were starting their first encore (I assume they played for at least another half hour to an hour).

StreetlightRock 12-10-2007 06:43 AM

tbh im not familiar with LtJ songs and I only know songs from RBF's first album and i still thought it was great. The one and only part that bugged me was that there even WAS en encore, i thought it was a pretty much perfect ending after RBF's cover of Take On Me and Sell Out. Still, the encore was only one song, so it was ok. And I got a SLM t-shirt. Very Zen.

Transient 12-10-2007 06:54 AM

Dude, I fucking hate you.

StreetlightRock 12-10-2007 06:59 AM

There there... *hugs*

Transient 12-10-2007 07:16 AM

SkaRobotArmy 12-10-2007 09:07 PM

thunderzstruck 01-08-2008 10:45 PM

just got back from seeing streetlight.

such a good show. my third time also. Them playing some botar was nice, one thing though was their opener (we will fall together) i didnt think sounded all that amazing. Not much energy, small small complaint though : P

asdf 01-08-2008 10:52 PM

I would love to see them this friday and I even have friends that'll drive me, but I have work and many other obligations.

Danger Bird 01-08-2008 10:57 PM

I wish people would stop bumping this I keep thinking something new has actually happened.

Henrik 01-09-2008 08:48 AM

I was gonna go to this but decided not to. I'm kinda pissed now.

Transient 01-10-2008 10:11 PM

Do they ever play The Receiving End Of It All or What a Wicked Gang Are We?

thunderzstruck 01-10-2008 10:38 PM
thats so sick they a wonderful life, i love that song.
yeah it was my favorite of the set. Everybody was dancing. Me and a few friends made a circle and held hands and skanked. I would just look over at people and wave at them and they would come over and join. It got up to around 20 people.. soooo much fun :)
I was gonna go to this but decided not to. I'm kinda pissed now.
ah you should have, especially for only $15. also if youve ever been to the varsity theater (where it was at) its definitely my favorite venue ive been to so far in the twin cities

they said theyd be touring in april again that theyd come back (at least to minnesota)

thunderzstruck 01-10-2008 10:39 PM

i was hoping for receiving end of it all but they never did
(my favorite off the new album)

also ive never seen them play the saddest song. thats one of their most energetic (and favorite) i really want them to sometime

ZaaR 01-10-2008 10:39 PM
Do they ever play The Receiving End Of It All or What a Wicked Gang Are We?
it's a shame if they don't because the receiving end of it all is the best song off their new disc.

Henrik 01-13-2008 06:56 AM

That sucks if they don't. They even say in the booklet that The Receiving End Of It All is the band's favorite track of the album. (mine too :( )

Other than that, awesome set list.

I'm going to see them in february with Reel Big Fish. I just wish they would come alone, cause I don't care that much for Reel Big Fish, and Streetlight's set gets shorter because they aren't headlining.

DougJI 01-13-2008 04:07 PM

Tomas' voice isnt up to it

and theres like 80 million vocal parts, and they cant figure out how to do it

and tomas cant play and sing parts of the song at the same time.

but they've been promising to be ready to do it by april.

SkaRobotArmy 01-13-2008 08:32 PM

i never understood why bands record things they can't play live. its one thing if you add an outside instrument or something that you dont normally have for effect. but to write a part like that that you couldn't play and sing at the same time is kinda silly i think.

Flagjacket 01-13-2008 10:14 PM

Because the point of recorded music is to compose a variety of sounds into an arrangement that is audibly pleasing. To use everything you can and want to is no problem, you can always just run a recording or something through the speakers.

DougJI 01-13-2008 11:14 PM

probably thought that one line of vocals made it sound empty/not as epic.

i personally love the chorus, i always sing the long drawn out part "though you dont knoooww wwhaaaat its liiiiiike to lose it allll its like to be on the receiving end of it all"

Henrik 01-22-2008 03:12 PM

I don't know why, but I'm glad they did, cause that Chorus is definitely some of the best they have did in my honest opinion.

I think Streetlight could use a more solid backup singer, when they play live.

SkaRobotArmy 01-22-2008 04:23 PM

i agree, i just think its strange...

and really? i think he does a great job, their voices fit together really well. i think past horn players did more back-ups if i remember.

Jessizzle 01-22-2008 08:25 PM

today i woke up and said ' i think i am going to wear my streetlight shirt today' then picked up it and said naaah..

i thought that was something intresting i could add to the convercation..

Flagjacket 01-22-2008 08:37 PM

Jess don't make me hate you

Jessizzle 01-22-2008 08:43 PM

kevin... you know you love me.

Yeah well maybe your're right. I just never thought that Jammy Egan was that good of a back-up singer, though he is an awesome musician.
But honestly if they are to play The Receiving End Of It All they probably need 2 good back-up singers at least to make it sound good live.

Liebensaft 01-23-2008 05:06 PM

If I didn't know Jess, I'd hate her. Just sayin'.

Yeah, they all kinda suck at singing live. Not that you can usually hear them over the crowd.

Robbert 02-01-2008 07:59 AM

I'm seeing SLM tonight, I can hardly wait. They're supporting reel big fish, and I hope that RBF is bit ok as well...
