I moved from a dirty city outside of Boston to a clean suburb...that was a culture shock. After there was a dead body found in a car parked down the street (literally) from my house, and I was 6 years old, my parents decided maybe this wasn't the best environment for little Gavy to grow up in
Moving's always tough, we're here for you, LR. And since we're on the topic of movies, I want to see Open Water. Anyone heard anything about it? I like independent and different films (Fight Club, Boondock Saints, Requiem for a Dream, Quentin Tarantino movies, etc.). -Gav |
I burned my favorite downloaded songs from the computer onto a CD, and when I listen to them now in my Walkman with bass boost (like you know it's gotta have!), I'm amazed at all the bass playing I missed from listening to it through crappy computer speakers! Did you know The Mars Volta's "Concertina" has a fucking awesome bass line? Well now I do.
|
Whee I'm done now. Stretching time. :D
I need to burn a new MP3 CD. In like 3 days time I torrented 5.25 gigs of music. Ironically, the last thing I woke up to (left it running over night) was, I thought, very ironic. It said: "Metallica - the Complete Collection - Download Successful" |
Jeez you mad pirate guy.
|
Hahahah , when i was in texas, i lived in the middle of nowheres... now im in socal, and im still in the middle of nowheres :amaze:
On another note it rained a litttle bit today :D after like almost a year of drought, man its dry as hell, we need a huricane or two overhere , but thats not possible here :upset: |

I didn't know concertina had a bass line. |
Tomorrow will be 15 years of my life in the middle of nowhere, New Jersey. Contrary to popular belief, New Jersey is not totally urbanized and dirty, just check out Burlington.
Whoa, I didn't know you lived a half hour from me! And I'm not moving out of philly... but I still don't want to leave my neighborhood. LR |

I've moved once in my life. My old house is about 3 miles away :p . We live out in the country, and on a gravel road. The previous house I lived in was pretty close to the road itself, and people would always be driving by pretty fast. It was a bit dangerous; plus they kicked up dust that came through our windows and coated everything.
My parents like this place a lot (I guess I have a bit of an attachment here too) and they wanted to stay in the general area. We moved down farther on the same road, but now our house is bigger, we have more property (12 acres), and we're up on a hill (great view, and no dust or dangerouly fast drivers near us :D ). |

And everyone's like.. "Ew philadelphia!!! " and I'm like... have you REALLY paid attention to the news lately... ?!?!!?" Sure, there are some REALLY rough neighborhoods here.. I won't deny that. But I read about more crap that happened in NJ than in my city... LR |
Where do you live again?
In the NE.. I used to date someone from Willingboro... RTE 130 BABY!! PORN AND LIQUOR CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. ....seriously.. it is... LR |
Ive moved once and its, up here in the burbs of Chicago. Im going to hs here now but it hasnt started yet(incoming freshman and I know nobody). Kind of frightening.
|
Don't worry about it. I did fine and I was a huge loser of a freshman.
|
I'm trying to think of local musicians you might now but the only one that comes to mind is Guitarist Pat Pratico...
|
Don't worry about it. I did fine and I was a huge loser of a freshman.
I was a big loser, too. My friends and I are sorta the nerds, but not truly nerds. We're in smart classes, but don't act like it. I guess I hang out with the musicians and some of the jocks, and occasionally the nerds. Although I HATE labels, there's no other way to explain it to you guys/girls on Mx. I guess I'm the social butterfly  -Gav |
I have moved a few times, chicago ---> seattle---->chicago
chicago pwnz seattle :p |
Agreed.^
I have moved a few times, chicago ---> seattle---->chicago

So most of you are going to highschool now correct?
|
It would pwn everythign else if fireworks were legal here.
:upset: I'ma be in 8th grade this year. |
Heh, my uncle usualy goes up to wisconson or indian to get some fireworks, if you go out to naperville or aurora, you can get away with it, luckily i have family out there.
|
And everything else.
I think every city has its perks...I'm proud to be from Boston. I'm proud I don't say "r" and say "ah." It's not a car, it's a caah. It's not a park, it's a pahhk. I want to go to Hahhvahhd, but Harvard. Screw that. I say wicked as an adjective with a positive connotation, meaning "very." I get crap for my accent ALL THE TIME. I was in Florida, at Universal Studios, and some bitchy lady heard me talking to my friend, and I said something like "...it was wicked hahhd" or something, and she refused to let me on The Hulk until I said "Park the car in the Harvard Yard" with my accent...that was embarrassing... -Gav |
It would pwn everythign else if fireworks were legal here.
:upset: I'ma be in 8th grade this year.
They're illegal here, too. I order the chemicals offline (Skylighter.com, unitednuclear.com) and build my own. I make my own mortar shells and casings and stuff...it's so fun. Cops have yet to yell at me, and the FBI is yet to knock on my door :D I <3 pyrotechnics/chemistry. I usually just buy fireworks in New Hampshire and bring them home (if we go there, we stay for a few days, so it's not that suspicious). -Gav |
That sucks :(
I knew this one woman who was from Boston and she ALWAYS said wicked. In fact, one week in the middle of the school year last year, I said "wicked" all the time. :p |
Theyre only illegal if people are around to hear/see you...
|

Then they go home and get ragged on. "SYNSE WEN IZ UR BASEBAWL TEEM CURZED LOLz1111!!!!!!!!!!1111one!!1?!?????????///?//??" LAY OFF THE RED SOX. I <3 THEM! I love Boston... -Gav |
Theyre only illegal if people are around to hear/see you...
My thoughts exactly. :thumb: -Gav |
I'd like Chicago more if the girls my age and younger weren't idiots. Honestly...
Besides that, though, it's all good :) Except the nearest Sam Ash is sorta far, and the Guitar Centers here don't have any 6-string basses (not ONE). |
Theyre only illegal if people are around to hear/see you...
12345 Unfortunately, across the street there's a cop; there's also another one down the block, so I'm screwed. Other than that, I agree with you. "If no one sees it, it ain't illegal." I wonder if Family Guy's on... |
I went to guitar today and they actually had an Ibanez Sr506. I played it and ordered one too. Figures that it's on backorder until mid september.
|
What?!?! Which Guitar Center??!? The Arlington Heights one???
|
well the girls my age arent idiots :p
|
Well im not in Chicago. Im more in the lesser Chocago/burb area.
Nonetheless I light fire works all the time cause im on a nice quiet dead end street. |
BFAG I know. Older girls = teh pwn. Hell even girls a YEAR older than me are awesome.
The girls my age are sterile. I honestly don't know a better way to describe them. |
What?!?! Which Guitar Center??!? The Arlington Heights one???
I got to the Villa Park one and they have some nice Warwick Thumbs. 4's and 5's. |
I think it's in Arlington heights. It's by Woodfield.
|
^ Ahh. There's one on Arlington Heights Rd., sort of on the way to the race track. There's also one sort of downtownish that's a bit smaller.
NEITHER of them had 6ers. They had 5ers (first place I encountered an SR505, WONDERFUL bass), but no 6ers. |
