Lol he was on the Reggie album? What the sh*t?

beans 09-08-2008 07:31 PM

i guess so unless its badtaste's little addition to the article lol

Dimmu Burger 09-08-2008 07:35 PM

lol that would be funny.

Phantom 09-08-2008 07:36 PM

Man, the new album really let me down. I enjoyed it the first few lsitens, but now I can barely listen to it. Not sure why, just has no replay value for me...

Still want to see them live in December.

EDIT: I wonder how many of those record sales are made up of fans who bought it then realised what an anti climax it is.

Dimmu Burger 09-08-2008 07:37 PM

Alright I'm rockin this album again.

beans 09-08-2008 07:37 PM

They do have a great live show, always have, probably always will.

But the new album is probably going to take me a while to get into, like iowa. it took me a while to actually like the entire album, not just a few songs.
whatever paul no one cares about you

i guess so unless its badtaste's little addition to the article lol
haha, haven't even heard of em.

But yeah, he did play bass on the record according to wiki.

Dimmu Burger 09-08-2008 07:39 PM

Reggie and The Full Effect is the drummer from Coalesce's solo stuff.

Kinda like St Anger really (I was a victim :().

But yeah, I'm not digging the album too much atm. Not hugely bad, still listenable, but doesn't make me want to listen to it.

Eh, if I've got my information correct, Joey and Paul are the brains behind the music. But yeah otherwise, he's an underachiever.

beans 09-08-2008 07:43 PM

i dont even try to guess anymore who comes up with what i know joey is a genuis but i cant say that for anyone else

I like St.Anger, ok it was an anti climax but I never hated it or jumped on that band wagon, but it was a let down. I still listen to it now.

As for All Hope Is Gone, I'm gunna give it another chance when I have the time to listen to it and not get distracted. I can listen to Snuff though..

Tillius 09-11-2008 09:17 PM

I can't get enough of this album. I really thought it was going to be a letdown but I'm really loving it.

lol. Corey and ex-Slipknot guitarist Josh Brainard are together a Tenacious D tribute act, called Audacious P.

alytee123 09-12-2008 06:59 AM

It took a few listens to get into but I eventually started enjoying the album. Dead Memories might as well have been on the first Stone Sour album though so it's no surprise that it's the second single.

Tillius 09-12-2008 01:37 PM

I really enjoy Dead Memories. Better than pretty much anything off of either of the Stone Sour albums. (even though I slightly enjoy the Stone Sour albums)

Man, that mask looks just awful. It's like if the Tin Man had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome or something.

badtaste 09-12-2008 10:12 PM

The only thing I dig about is that when he is shrouded in darkness, there's a bit of leatherface about him, floppy hair and all.

In other news, Jim Root appears on Jonathon Davis and the SFA's "Got Money" (Lil Wayne cover). You can download the track at http://www.jdsfa.com/download

badtaste 09-14-2008 08:52 PM

lol, probably true. Have you ever checked out his side projects? Standard alternative/indie rock type stuff. I have one of To my Surprise's tracks on my Sputnik profile.

Some of the members thoughts on working with Rick Rubin on Volume 3. Thought that this was interesting, especially what Corey had to say.
Shawn Crahan (percussion): "'Vol. 3' was all about rebuilding friendships and since we were rebuilding, it was reall easy to rebuild the innovation of our music. Listen to that ****ing record. It's spiritual. Rick Rubin's the oracle. He sat us down with each other. I heard things from the other members I don't care to repeat. I gained a couple of friends. I might have created a couple of enemies. We all agreed we were going to get on a plateau of communication and that's what we did."

Jim Root (guitar): "Rick was really attentive to what we needed as a band. He knew I was going through major anxiety. I got a knock on my bedroom door one day, and his assistant came up and he had this herbal drop that you put on your tongue to mellow out. A lot of the guys in the band say Rick was unavailable. And yeah, he takes on a lot of projects at one time, but he also does things that are beneficial. He would listen to what we'd done, then have us retrack things that needed work. He's kind of like Big Brother up on the hill. Even though he wasn't there physically every day, he was. That's my favorite record we've done."

Corey Taylor (vocals): "I wouldn't know what it's like to work with Rick Rubin. I only saw him about four times. Rick Rubin is a nice man. He's done a lot of good for a lot of people. He didn't do anything for me. I'm not happy with the vocals on that record. There were a lot of takes that I thought were much better than the ones they ****in' used and I wasn't asked about a lot of ****. It sounds amazing; the songs are great. But we were being charged horrendous amounts of money. And for me, if you're going to produce something, you're ****ing there. I don't care who you are."
