Cursive played over here in the summer. I couldn't get a ride so I didn't go
Yaphet Kotto, Pg. 99, Majority Rule, Transistor, Transistor, Wolves, etc.

Hardcore.
Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot and has no idea what hardcore is (about).
Yes, those bands are emo/screamo. Which is hardcore... a SUB genre of hardcore. Tell me with a straight face those bands have any correlation to Death Threat and Mental.

BuddyBigsby 10-17-2004 01:41 PM
Reunion shows rule provided it's the whole band and not like 1 member. Ignite reformed and they were amazing when I saw them.
Same here!

PaganReign 10-17-2004 02:47 PM

So would Hondo MaClean be categorised as metalcore? I cannot find the "REAL screamo" thread that has been talked about so I was just wondering if anyone could write up a detailed definition of screamo along with some bands... it would seem that I have no idea what screamo is when I thought I did.

Sadly I do not know many of the bands mentioned so it dosen't help much.

Happymeal 10-17-2004 07:12 PM

I'm a semi-regular in emo/screamo:wave:

even if I haven't listened to all of the bands in the list yet

Hey Buddy, who did you say the singer of One King Down sings for now?

BuddyBigsby 10-17-2004 10:55 PM

Most Precious Blood.

40 oz 2 freedom 10-17-2004 10:56 PM

That's what I thought.

I saw that a while back, coincidence?

BuddyBigsby 10-18-2004 12:20 AM

Yeah, definitely not the same band as today's Slipknot.

PlasticGangster 10-18-2004 12:22 AM

Their is a Slipknot cover band. They're kids in Middleschool and stuff

Gotkookie 10-18-2004 12:29 AM

Slipknot sucks?

BuddyBigsby 10-18-2004 12:31 AM

Ok, what's with everyone swapping avatars lately?
I was lucky enough to see Still Life with Cursive...they just didn't have that kick to them though. But that show sounds amazing, I haven't heard of Shroomunion before, though.
Still Life are awesome guys.
Dave is super funny.

Yeah, the new album kinda sucks. They used to put up REALLY intense live shows.

Bigsby: Maybe things have changed alot in the last couple years with MTV interfering in the scene a bit (and fashionxcore), but we used to go to hardcore shows. Bands like Indian Summer played together with 'your type' of hardcore bands. Hell, they even played a show with Green Day.

Shroomunion are pretty good. Just sold their two 7"s, though. They also have a 10" and a track on the Eucalyptus 2 x 7" comp.
They did the first 7" on Inchworm and the second on Repercussion, which was the Indian Summer twin's label.

New Van Johnson CD:

Awesome layout. Looks a little too much like the Life At These Speeds Lp though.
Now let's just wait for the vinyl to be released.

cbmartinez 10-18-2004 01:29 PM

So I was at a music store in upstate New York yesterday and I found The Procedure- Rise Of New Reason. It's pretty sweet, nothing like Thursday though. I am lucky.
So I was at a music store in upstate New York yesterday and I found The Procedure- Rise Of New Reason. It's pretty sweet, nothing like Thursday though. I am lucky.
One of the best bands ever. I have their whole discogrpahy with the exception of their 7" because I have no idea/don't care enough to put it on my pc. Also I have a DVD of their last show and some mp3's from it.

cbmartinez 10-18-2004 03:43 PM

How many CDs/EPs do they have?

Let's Chop Cats! 10-18-2004 03:47 PM

Rise of New Reason Full Length
For Janus 7"
Demo
Lumberjack '03 Sampler
Last Show EP

And then they have a bunch of mp3's of their last show on their site and I talked to Bill (guitarist) and got a DVD of the show.

40 oz 2 freedom 10-18-2004 03:54 PM

What's their site?

cbmartinez 10-18-2004 03:54 PM

Wow. The CD is pretty good. They've got some nice chants and cool, eerie leads that are semi-reminscent of Thursday.

You can listen to the full length on their site (but not download it).

40 oz 2 freedom 10-18-2004 03:56 PM

I'm downloading the full-length right now. I remember listening to them once, and from what I remember I like Thursday more.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-18-2004 03:57 PM

The Procedure is Hardcore, Thursday is really like Post-Hardcore. I don't know which genre you like better, but ether way both good bands.

CONNER_NWHC 10-18-2004 03:58 PM

Thursday is a good band, anyone have any cds on soulseek?

Let's Chop Cats! 10-18-2004 03:59 PM

I think the only full cd I have on soulseek is Waiting, I'm way to lazy to put the rest on. Plus I don't have much more space on this pc.

40 oz 2 freedom 10-18-2004 04:01 PM

I can put any of them on if you really want, but I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding them through the Search.

And Procedure shirts are 4 dollars! If I like them I might get one, that's a steal.
