Alright Jev. Did anyone see Freezing Moon's idea for the mailing list things? It's in the Report Problems/blah/blah thread.
This.
I have no idea what it is.

Oh. Go to the Report Problems Thread.

Here:
I don't know about everyone else, but I think that 100000 people posting their e-mail in every single thread for uploads is annoying as hell.

I was wondering if it would be possible to upload the album, take a screenshot of the link, and host the sceenshot (or something)? That would be way better in my opinion.
Oh. Go to the Report Problems Thread.
I see, it's a pretty good idea.

Jom 12-10-2005 10:39 AM
Maybe I do. People seem to be forgetting - or just weren't here for them in the first place, maybe - some of the things that are supposed to be frowned upon in this thread.
Outline them again in your typically blunt, go-for-the-jugular manner of handling things like this, then.
BAH! Mine are. I'm tired of this.
Sometimes posts are deleted if you visit The Pit/instrument forums and post in crappy threads. I've lost a few posts here and there as a result.

Or, people just start deleting posts at random. This has happened in all three community threads, it's no big thing... it does make you want to put on your monocle and investigate, however.

///

Right, so last night my roommate invited me and my other roommate to his girlfriend's house for board games. They all went to the same high school, and they were meeting a friend who goes to a close-by uni there. We wound up playing Scene It (if you don't know what this is; in a nutshell, it's a DVD/board game combo that's kind of like Trivial Pursuit... you roll two dice, one for how many spaces you move, the other for what question you answer. There's slogans [What 2004 movie had the slogan, 'A True Underdog Story?'], pop culture ['This rap-rock band recorded the "Mission: Impossible" theme for Mission: Impossible 2."], and "three-lists" [Name the actor who starred in Lethal Weapon 2, Gone Fishin', and Casino]. It was good times.

All the movies were pretty recent, so that made it a little easier. I was waiting for the movie to show something like Citizen Kane or another old "classic" movie, but nah.

Next, we played Loser. This was pretty fun. The object of the game is not to move. You roll a die, and then you pick a card from the draw pile. Depending on the color you are on [red = everyone plays, white = neighbors to left and right, blue = solo play], you play as the card instructs.

For example:

"If you've ever ran out of gas on the expressway, take the penalty [penalty = whatever the number on the die is]."

"If you've ever fucked on the first date, take the penalty."

"If you've ever attended a Star Trek convention, take the penalty. If you dressed up for the Star Trek convention, take double the penalty."

And so on and so forth. Some were hysterically raunchy, some were just plain funny, and so on.

Then, we played Truth or Dare Jenga. We played three rounds, then decided that, since everyone seemed to be picking the same blocks, that we would just flip them all over and read them one-by-one. This was also good times.

Right, so let me try to explain this little anti-love-triangle going on with my roommate and his girlfriend, and this other girl who was meeting us. I'm going to address them as Roommate, Roommate's Girlfriend, and Other Girl.

Roommate and Other Girl had a history in high school. They became friends instead or something. Then, Roommate and Roommate's Girlfriend hung out a lot over the summer, and didn't make it completely official until this semester around my birthday.

Last night was the first time all three of them have hung out since one of the rivalry football games for my uni - which was way back in September.

This was also the first time that Other Girl saw Roommate and Roommate's Girl kiss. I could tell she was insanely jealous, so I couldn't laugh or call her out on it.

Conversation on ride home from Roommate's Girlfriend's house:

Roommate: "Do you think [Other Girl] is jealous, since this is the first time she saw us kiss in front of her?"

Me and Other Roommate: /exchange glances

Me and Other Roommate: "Nahhhhhhhhhhh."

So, we'll see how that goes, heh.

I'm currently in the process of writing a little diddy for R&M. It's going to be the first of two, so hopefully you guys will enjoy reading.

I do, old chap.

I saw Cradle of filth and Cathedral last eve.
absolutely excellent, dead centre at the front. They ripped shit up vastly and in extremes.

They were both Bloody excellent, but there was a 10pm curfew on the venue so the support got less time :(

That's stupid. What was it? a YMCA?

Shadows 12-10-2005 12:58 PM

I'm not much on Cathedral, but I thoroughly enjoy CoF live. That's one damn fine musical experience.

Now for a new album.

Lord Abortion 12-10-2005 01:02 PM
That's stupid. What was it? a YMCA?
Nope, a Carling Academy...I still can't understand it...

They should have played more mid-period stuff, but I can't complain, really.
Now for a new album.
It's on it's way if you check the studio reports...new live album too...

Shadows 12-10-2005 01:08 PM

Yeah, I've been checking the studio reports regularly. It sounds like it won't be too much longer once this small tour is done. I can't wait, though I am rather skeptical.

Lord Abortion 12-10-2005 01:09 PM

So...anything been up today and yesterday I should know about from while I was away?

Haha, it's not really a secret. Let's just say that, as soon as you see the title, you'll know who wrote it (so long as you don't look at the username before it, heh).
a new mini series like thing?
Nah, not at all. I've written three articles here, and they've been ridiculously long-winded and lengthy, but since Med refuses to let me know what the Featured Artist queue is, I'm just going to go ahead and go through with posting it, haha.

Plus, the other three articles I wrote absolutely flopped, so I give credit to guys like SilentScream7 and especially, especially, especially Steerpike for continuing to write their series.

I'm almost done! :-D

Shadows 12-10-2005 01:12 PM

Lately, articles and series threads haven't been doing well. I'm surprised people still do them.

I'm still looking forward to it.

and indeed credit to Steerpike and Silent scream for their series.
I stopped writing mt series after the 7th one, I didn't get enough feedback, I guess the bands were a bit too underground for outsiders to respond to.

I'm thinking of writing some stuff in a bit though, It still itches to write stuff so that other people can explore music.
It won't have a mailing list though, cause as posted in the report problems thread,; I'm getting sick of this leeching.

Joe 12-10-2005 01:21 PM

So Jom you're making a new series? Sweet.

I just finished my christmas shopping... except my girl friend wants her to make her a cd of my songs... with vocals :upset:
Mine seem to do pretty well. They always break 200 replies, except for my Spiral Architect thread.
The biggest thread I've ever made probably had about 200 posts in it.
