They played it when I saw them last also, so I would assume so. You can probably find it on youtube, I'm not sure.
I don't agree with the statement in any way though. Unfortunately I missed Streetlight when they came through here a few days ago. I was checking their tour dates and I was all, "oh **** that's right now!" |
No, there are live versions of the new songs floating around the internet.
Upload it or something. Please.
Here's a really clean sounding version on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zysZcpcpWMQ I like the other new song that they play live better, but this ones still great. |
I really liked that. The horns are still strong as hell too.
To be honest, I don't really like the "gypsy"-esque stuff as much as I like their more traditional stuff. I like the video that was just posted, but I really hope the whole album isn't like that.
The new Streetlight Song, Would You Be Impressed, sounds a lot like a Gogol Bordello song.
My two favorite bands at the moment! I have never ever been as excited for a new album as I am for this one to be released. |
I liked that a lot, son.
Has anyone seen them (Streetlight Manifesto) on the current tour? What kind of stuff has RBF been playing?
I'm going to see them in a few hours. Assuming you aren't going to the same show, I'll tell you when I get back.
is there any news on canadian dates?
So Reel Big Fish only played 2 or 3 songs off the new album. I'm going to take it back, the new album is better than their old stuff. I forgot just how bland and boring 90% of the music between Turn the Radio Off and The New (not live) album are. Scott saves a lot of their show, but he didn't sing lead on any song save Enter Sandman... which means they didn't play the song that's also a Littlest Man Band song (and thus the best song on the middle albums).
Streetlight played Mercy Me and Would You Be Impressed. Both good songs but I really hope they're fleshed out for the album (which he said was halfway done now) since they're both really short. They didn't play the other two songs, I hope because they were cut or aren't finished (because they would only be good if another band wrote them). It was funny the difference between Thomas when he'd play EGN songs and when he played the new songs. For the old songs he was screwing around with the band and the crow but for the new songs he barely took his eyes off the crow, like he was looking for feedback. Jas, how long has the Asian guy been the Suburban legends singer. Because I could have sworn the last time I saw them, it was a shaggy white guy, and the first two times I saw them it was a preppy white guy... but now I'm not so sure. I mean, the voice is certaintly different from Origin, but that could just be a natural progression. And no, they didn't mention any canadian dates while up on stage. |
Cool. I'm really excited. I'm going to the one tomorrow night in Allentown.
Is one of the new songs officially titled "Mercy Me"?
just saw these guys for the first time the other day in pittsburgh. damn were they good live. their baritone sax player is easily the coolest looking person ive ever seen.
If youtube is official, then yes one is Mercy Me and the other is Would You Be Impressed.
I don't know if any of you have seen this but check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5LFD8i_Dh0&search=streetlight%20manifesto
It's a short clip of Streetlight playing what in my ears sounds like a new song. At least I don't know who else should have made it. Anyways, I think it sounds awesome. My guess of a name would be "Mercy Me" or "Ain't no turning back". I really can't wait for a new album. It's without doubt the most exciting I have ever been for an album to be released.
In that case I would like to quote my own guess from late July. :chug: |
Allright I lost One Cool Guy - From Downtown when my old computer died, would any of you upload it for me? Soulseek doesn't work for me. I seriously miss it, One Cool Guy are soo awesome.

Allright... So I just found this awesome fanboy site that has uploaded One Cool Guy - From Downtown. I almost (only almost) forgot how much I LOVE One Cool Guy...
http://risc.perix.co.uk/downloads/music/ The site has Gimp And Rules Of The Game for download too.... |
Damn thanks for the link. Bootylicious.
Yeah, thanks for posting that.
Jess's avatar looks like it was made for the book? Good book by the way. |
Really? I've actually thought a lot about reading it. I've read many good things about in my searching around the internet for the "real" catch 22 :p
yeah it is awesome. I kind of want to read it again.
What do you guys tend to listen to more? Catch 22 or Streetlight?
Can't really include BOTAR because they don't have nearly as many songs. |
When I was obsessed with these two bands I was consistently listening to the same amount by each band.
I don't know why, but I never got into Streetlight. Keasbey Nights is of course brilliant, but EGN never grabbed me. A few songs off of it are great (EWN, Point/Counterpoint, etc), but I never got into it like I did with Catch 22.
Everything Goes Numb > Keasbey Nights.
Love both though. |
