I like Symphony X better, Dream theatre **** about too much for my liking. Symphony X, like their name implies, incorporate orchestrated music into their stuff (listen to the intro of The Odyssey for a classic example)

I picked up a shirt that says "South Beach Thrashers" on it today. It doesn't mean thrashers in the sense that we all know and love, but I thought it was pretty cool that it used the word so I got it

and to whoever asked... I hate Symphony X!!! I felt equal to dead when I saw them... Blind Guardian was a little better, but still boring. My other half dragged me to that show... good thing that other half has now been chopped off. :lol:

Does anyone like Symphony X? They aren't thrash, they are Prog metal, but the songs Divine Wings of Tragedy and The Odyssey are amazing. I'm thinking about buying The Odyssey next week.

You obviously got the wrong songs. I was at both Big Day Out shows in Sydney (and the sideshow)..and the crowd went off.. maybe you got the dud songs or something... the crowd was pretty mixed, lots of nOObs and lots of old yobbos, so the new kids only new MOP, Sandman, One etc, but lots of old guys sang to the old stuff..the band was pretty loud though.

You really do want to get to it soon because Deliverence is their best record for mine. Actually, that's notstrictly true cause ****nation really belongs with it, but...you know. The title track especially is one fine piece of work. I had always heard Blackwater Park was the bes one which I cannot belivee because it seems a bit more fragmented than htis one. Deliverence is tight, partially because of the fewer number of songs, but more epics which are really what we listen to Opeth for eh.

Local mod can edit posts, lock threads, delete threads, etc only within the forum they're assigned to. Supers can do so in any forum, and they can ban.

Kreator are awesome man, i have every album except for the first and newest, Outcast would have to be my favorite, and Coma Of Souls.

yeah kreator are awesome. but coroner are good too. i've downloaded a few songs of them. they have pretty cool riffs :)

Dunno about Outcast...Bit of a dodgy album if you ask me. Coma Of Souls is great, but my fave is Extreme Aggression.

^ nah i quite like the album, especially Phobia, its an awesome song, the riffs and the triplest they play are just head bangable.... Violent Revolution is an aweosme album IMO, very good, Coma of Soulds is one of the greats though.
