Yea, that DVD makes me question her sanity sometimes. She's a little, well, odd.

Yea, I wish his lows were higher in the mix. There's one song where he does a hell of a growl underneath everything that lasts forever, but you really have to listen because it's so low in the mix.

the new Nodes of Ranvier album sucks so bad! them and Still Remains are putting out *****y albums after making some quality original sounding metalcore albums. its too bad, both their new albums sound the same and are similar to the last It Dies Today album. why are all these bands going that direction??
I can imagine from how many times I've watched the Zen Of Screaming DVDs... she just seems waaaaaaay too, "spirited."
haha I feel the same about that xD
I've learnt some good stuff watching that DVD

The warm-ups were the only really useful thing in that shi.

She's really helping this dude though. I cant speak for the DVDs but he's apparently working with her personally and it's doing wonders.

Probably the Weak Willed. That song is full of lows, but they're not all that strong.

Invicta_Veritas 07-15-2007 05:15 PM

That's a good song. I personally really like "Empty Inside". Especially the chorus, lots of good melody and he really got a lot better with his high range.

Well yeah, but the DVD's don't have full lessons in them, they're just a brief explanation on what to do.

The lows are strong, they just don't have enough rasp, if he gets that down, he's golden.
Yeah that song is called Six. It's pretty ****ing amazing.

And Norma Jean are horrible live and meh on Cd.
I love Norma Jean and I have to disagree. I think they are great live, but I can see how people would dislike them. I for one do not.

i am the robots 07-15-2007 06:34 PM

Okay, here is proof that you're a moron:

LifeInABox 07-15-2007 06:37 PM

I've seen all the songs they recorded from that show. Some of them were good, some of them not so much. You can't make me change my stance on them so don't try bother trying by insulting me. It's pointless.

i am the robots 07-15-2007 06:39 PM

I'm not insulting you, I'm stating a fact. If you think Norma Jean is at all live, you have to be deaf, stupid, or both.

THEY CAN'T EVEN PLAY NORMA JEAN SONGS PROPERLY FFS.

LifeInABox 07-15-2007 06:43 PM

I saw them live and they were quite good, as was The Chariot.

i am the robots 07-15-2007 06:44 PM

Okay, okay. I've seen the Chariot live as well, that was even more of a joke.

LifeInABox 07-15-2007 06:50 PM

And I liked it, so I will end this with the usual statement of to each his own.

i am the robots 07-15-2007 06:52 PM

That's not a statement of "to each his own" that's a statement of, "you're an idiot."

A decent live show normally entails that the band can at least play their own songs properly, and hopefully, that their singer doesn't blow his voice out.

Those bands butcher their own material that they wrote live, I'm sorry, that's just pathetic.

Shred Danson 07-15-2007 06:57 PM

there's a big difference to being good live and being entertaining live.

The Chariot is very entertaining, but suck tremendously. We played with them and Norma Jean (along with 100034834342932 other bands) at Cornerstone festival a couple weeks ago (good story about Norma Jean, too...) and I watched them out of curiousity and I thought they were entertaining as hell and very energetic, but I could not stand the music. It was just noise, nothing else.

You're so dumb dude. I like them, you don't, leave it alone. Just because I like them and you dislike them doesn't mean I'm an idiot. It's really sad how hard you try to insult me, it's literally in just about every post you make.

Tyler 07-15-2007 08:05 PM

He likes Norma Jean.

LifeInABox 07-15-2007 08:39 PM

Dude, Killswitch Engage is such a good band.

Concubine 07-15-2007 08:40 PM

not really
