Auberge le Mouton Noir 09-10-2006 06:19 PM

I have a full back catalogue of A silver Mt Zion mp3s which I am very pleased with.

the only one i don't like is "pretty little lightning paw EP", which i can't get into.

Txus 09-10-2006 06:22 PM

I don't like A Silver Mount Zion that much, they really bore me.

BurningSky 09-10-2006 06:24 PM

I'm listening to 65daysofstatic right now, and I can't believe how great the drummer. From what I've listened to before this, the drummer is usually just meh, but this guy rocks...

Txus 09-10-2006 06:28 PM
I'd be willing to send any albums that I have through AIM...

My screenname is Unknown1400
I don't have AIM

NP: Isis And Aereogramme - Stolen

bwnstl 09-10-2006 06:33 PM

Txus and Kage, can I get those links as well? Thanks in advance!

Txus 09-10-2006 06:35 PM

Check your Inbox.

Dancin' Man 09-10-2006 06:52 PM

I've got another 65daysofstatic album One Time For All Time. I can send it if anyone is interested. Also, Drums & Tuba for anyone interested, it's cool stuff. I have Battles Ole but be warned anyone who has seen them live, their live show kicks the **** out of any recoridng they have, the records lose the energy. Let me know if you're interested and I'll set it up.

Txus 09-10-2006 06:57 PM

I would like the Drums & Tuba. Thanks :)

Are there any good Post Rock sites like Progarchives for Prog and Metal Archives for Metal...maybe PostArchives? :p

Kage 09-10-2006 07:10 PM

I think ProgArchives has Post Rock bands on there.

Txus 09-10-2006 07:15 PM

I know, but there's nothing new there :(

Kage 09-10-2006 07:18 PM

Plus it has nowhere near a complete database of the more obscure PR bands.

Txus 09-10-2006 07:20 PM

Yeah, it has about 5 bands I've never heard though. I want a Metal Archives for Post rock!

Kage 09-10-2006 07:23 PM

In my preliminary checks I couldn't even find Because of Ghosts, The Cinematic Orchestra, or Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson on there.

Txus 09-10-2006 07:26 PM

I just checked again, I don't know 9 bands in there :(

I haven't heard any of those bands, Kage.

/Feels like a n00b

Kage 09-10-2006 08:02 PM

I sent both of you links to the Rosetta album and the MotA album.

NP: Godspeed You Black Emperor - Static

^^This band is without a doubt the king of post rock.

Txus 09-10-2006 08:13 PM

Thanks, Man. The Rosetta album isn't working for me though...it says the file has expired.

Kage 09-10-2006 08:17 PM
Thanks, Man. The Rosetta album isn't working for me though...it says the file has expired.
Huh? It's working fine for me.

I'll re-upload it in bit. It takes forever because it's a double album and all.

Drums and Tuba

The Rosetta link was dead unfortunately, but thanks for them anyway.

Txus 09-10-2006 08:24 PM

Thanks man, it's not working for me....that's odd.

Thanks for the link, Dancin.

Kage 09-10-2006 08:28 PM

I just now realized I copy/pasted the wrong link into the e-mail, and I already closed the window. I'm re-uploading. Sorry about that.

Thanks for the Drums and Tuba, I'll look forward to hearing that.

Dancin' Man 09-10-2006 08:32 PM

Even if you aren't a fan of the record, if you ever get a chance to see them live (US only I have a feeling) do so.

Kage 09-10-2006 08:58 PM

Thanks for this Drums & Tuba, I really fucking dig it. It's weird and really unique, but I love it.

Txus 09-10-2006 09:05 PM

The same as Kage, it's really great.

Dancin' Man 09-10-2006 09:19 PM

Glad that I could deliver something sweet as

As much as I respect your opinion, I'd have to kindly disagree. They're good, but I find them meandering a little too much for my taste. But then again, it's all in personal preference, right?

NO

:p

Personally, for me, they are just the most emotionally impacting band I've ever heard. That's what does it for me.

Txus 09-10-2006 10:31 PM

They're excellent, I really love them...I dare to say I'm kind of a fanboy but just not there if you know what I mean. Anyway, as much as I love them I think they're not the pure definition/kings of Post Rock, for me Isis that is. It's all a matter of opinion though.

Kage 09-10-2006 10:33 PM

Isis, huh? I don't necessarily see that. Godspeed has it all, for me. I am a Godspeed fanboy, though.

Txus 09-10-2006 10:34 PM

I think Isis has the substance for Post Rock but...Oh well, maybe I'm sleepy :p

I love Isis, though.

Night guys

Erik6387 09-10-2006 10:36 PM

65DaysOfStatic is where it's at. I'm also a huge fan of Explosions In The Sky, Jesu, Mogwai, and God Is An Astronaut.

Sleepy 09-10-2006 10:47 PM

I've heard a lot of hype about 65days and Mogwai. Are either really up to the praise they get?

Kage 09-10-2006 10:55 PM

Personally I think 56Days gets way more hype than it deserves, while being really good. Mogwai is great, but inconsistent.

That's why I love ISIS more than any other band. :p

Cheers to both of them though!

BurningSky 09-11-2006 11:15 AM

I'm listening to Do Make Say Think right now for the first time, and it is really really good...

The bass especially, in the song 1978, such a cool line...

Tyr 09-11-2006 11:19 AM

After listening to Sigur Rós the past couple of days I've come to the conclusion that it's not really my thing.

Kage 09-11-2006 11:26 AM
After listening to Sigur Rós the past couple of days I've come to the conclusion that it's not really my thing.
Don't give up on Post Rock in general, though. There's a lot of variety and SR is hardly representative.
Don't give up on Post Rock in general, though. There's a lot of variety and SR is hardly representative.
Definitely not. At the moment I'm listening to Red Sparowes and they are quite good.

Dancin' Man 09-11-2006 03:45 PM

Try Russian Circles also, great band with great songs.

Nepenthe 09-11-2006 04:00 PM

I would have to agree with GYBE being the kings of post rock.

Kage 09-11-2006 04:04 PM
I would have to agree with GYBE being the kings of post rock.
Ja ja! There's not even a single question in it for me. GYBE encapsulate everything about it--hell, everything about music--that I love.
