For some reason when I searched there wasn't already a Misfits thread. Unless something is wrong...there isnt one! So here is the UnOfficial one. Talk about anything Misfits here!

They are effing terrible live, I saw last year.

To me, the Misfits were Glenn Danzig.

I saw the Misfits twice so far and I'll be seeing them again in October (making it the third time this year) I really enjoy their shows, but its basically a mini version of the Danzig and Doyle Shows those are just insane (Doyle and Danzig play half an hour of Misfits songs at each set on the Blackest of the Black Tour),

as for Graves I just see his work as

Gotham Road-Great
Solo-Go back to Gotham Road

ok look please stop badmouthing the misfits please i have seen em live and were great, i have listend to a lot of the danzig and graves misfits but they are just as good now. im only 15 but i know my misfits stuff and they are writing new stuff as we speak and doyle dus not hate jerry there brothers for christ sake! if you dont belive check out the website below.

the line up i saw in august was: jerry only, dez cadena and robo from black flag. it was cool, a good show. yeh it wasnt danzig era misfits but it was still worth seeing.

i think if the misfits are going to carry on touring try and get some more original members in the band. They might as well be called black flag considering there is only 1 misfit and 2 black flagians. Did Jerry have a major bust up with the other members or just a real bad breath or something

lol well i met jerry and it aint bad breath but theres no news of a major bust up i think they just decided there was nothing more to do at the moment and gave it a rest. a reunion is on the cards though :)

I love every misfits song I have ever heard, regardless of the lineup. Tell me, is it merely purists who miss danzig or is the show actually bad? If i went to see the misfits, I'd expect a huge nostalgia fest, and I'd be happy as long as they played the songs well.
Is the essence of this thread the quality of the show or the crdibility of the musicians?

Just to throw this in, Calabrese is amazing, even though they dont sound anything like the misfits. AFI if anything

I bought Famous Monsters, and the new Misfits sound a lot like my band, so I was kinda suprised about that- well, if Graves was a girl! :D The Forbidden Zone, Crawling Eye, Saturday Night, Living Hell, but especially Descending Angel and Helena, sound JUST like my band! To be honest, I prefer Graves *waits to be shot* to Danzig. I like the metally sound, but it kept the punk simplicity. I like it :)

Graves is considering joining again? That would rock. He's such an under-appreciated vocalist. Among the albums I've been using to teach myself to sing, American Psycho, Famous Monsters, and most of the Gotham Road mp3s a friend sent me are some of my favorites.

I absolutely love Graves on American Psycho, and everyone hates him! I don't understand it. But it's awesome that you're teaching yourself to sing from taht album, becasue it's fantastic. I used to listen to it constantly in like the 8th grade.

Graves is pretty good, but he's no Danzig.

who said they were hated here? anyways i actually like jerry being singer more than graves. to me graves just kind of seems to me like a danzig copy off and is not fit to be in the misfits, and im more pleased to see an orginal member of the misfits fronting, even if he is a money grabbing assh*le. when will doyle get back in the band?

Wait a second, I heard that Danzig is back with the misfits. I saw it in the magazine Guitar World.

Yeah, I know, that's why I'm confused as to whether it's true or not. I have the article that says he's back with them and that their going on tour now, but it doesn't say anything about it on their website. Did anyone else hear anything about Danzig rejoining the misfits?

The Misfits
 

So yeah, I'm going to be seeing the Misfits at the Carven Concert Hall in Modesto tomorrow :cool: . This'll be my first real punk show apart from a Lower Class Brats show I went too (I'm more of a rock&metal guy..). What should I expect from this? I know it's going to be packed. Is it pretty rough? As in, a buncha skinhead retards elbowing everybody etc.?


Also, discuss other classic punk shows you've been to/are going to.

The Show=Suck. I'm pretty sure Jerry is the only remaining member, and he is way past his prime. There prob will be skinheads (not the nazis). There will be punks. There will be trendy goth kids. It shouldn't be that bad as far as being "rough". Just stay on the outside if you are scurred.

We have another Misfits thread. But yeah, I bet the show will suck. And no, it won't be rough.

I'm seeing The Misfits too, but not til November. I'm goin to the Horrorpops, Roger Miret & The Disasters and Left Alone this thursday though. That shows gonna be sweet.

At that show expect a lot of douche bags. I could go to the show in Atlanta, but I don't want to drive that far and I don't want to be packed into a place with ****ty people.

I've seen the Horrorpops a few times, such a fun show!

Whether the show is great or not doesn't really bother me, but seeing the Misfits only 25minutes from my home for $15 is definately worth it, as I might not get to see them ever again.

$15 seems like a little much.
