I am so sick of The Veronicas. The're like my sisters favroute band, and I swear, If I hear "When It All Falls Apart" one more time, Ill disembowl someone.

Yeah, but you would still bang them amirite
Yo G_Mac I like the album artwork, i dont half mind the sample songs, vocals are a little strange in some places but maybe its because my internet is playing up a bit.

Whoa Aisles of White sounds very nice![/QUOTE[

I actually really dislike them. I'm hoping they aren't a great indication of what to expect on Imago. They are just missing something that Begins Here and the EP had. I really dislike Clint's voice on some tracks as well, particularly A Slow Descent, which is being marketed as the new single. Either way, I'll still buy the album, but whether I enjoy it or not is another question. I also think the bands change in imago is having a bit of an effect on what I think of the samples. Without really wanting to use the term 'selling out', I think TBE may be heading in that direction. :(

Oh, and for the record, Phoenix has been dropped from the record.
Yeah, but you would still bang them amirite
Have you seen what they look like without 3 inches of makeup? ...

They sound so generic to me, all these crappy female pop singers/groups sound the same to me these days.

But I'd hit Natalie Bassingthwaighte or however it's spelt from the Rouge Traders/Neighbours.

StreetlightRock 05-13-2006 12:59 AM

That's v. true, w/o the makeup they look like Craparellas.

She's even uglier, I think.

RE: Butterfly Effects new album - IMAGO. Think I agree with Gmac to say I'm not overwhelmingly impressed but as I remember with begins here I initially only liked a couple of tracks and the rest grew on me over time.

Why is that I wonder (how an album takes a while to grow on you)? I think it's coz initially you like the actual sound but not how it's written or composed, but after a while it just kinda gets imprinted in your head and there you go.

Great thread btw, I'm glad I rediscovered this website
I really dislike Clint's voice on some tracks as well, particularly A Slow Descent
Like the same voice he sings in the verses of One Second of Insanity? If so I think I know what you mean, but when he sings with his natural voice it just sounds great I reckon.

dUSK 05-13-2006 07:57 AM

No. I think the new songs lack depth. Clint's vocals were never spectacular to begin with, but on songs like Without Wings TBE really showed how they could gel together to create something beautiful.

The new samples, really just remind me of the feeling I got when I first heard One Second Of Insanity, where I thought they were ok, but nothing more than that. Compare Beautiful Mine to any of the new samples, and you should get what I mean.

She's looked hot on Neighbours for the past few years, she has a killer rack.

ThunderBass 05-13-2006 10:46 AM

meh... when its dark its about what they FEEL like more than what they look like... if they have hot bods just flick the switch...

Hehe. Yes they are great.

Too bad the cancelled their FNQ tour because they're a bunch of pansies!

dUSK 05-13-2006 08:43 PM

To add salt to the wound, I'm seeing them in two weeks. Actually, in pretty much exactly two weeks, to the very hour, I will be at an instore Acoustic set/signing.:D

Riva 05-13-2006 08:54 PM

Are you bringing your teddy bear, or is that a different show?

dUSK 05-13-2006 08:56 PM

*Robot

And no. I don't have any robots lying about the place, and even if I did, I probably wouldn't take it anyway.

I cant really comment on any image change within the band as ive never really been all that into them (only have a few songs and doubt that i'd buy an album) Just though some of the samples sounded quite nice but they dont touch other Aussie heavier rock acts.
Strange that Phoenix was dropped weren't they pushing that song not too long ago?

PeEpHoLe_10 06-09-2006 07:42 PM

Cog have written about 12 songs for their new album and are expecting it to be released early 2007.Very exciting.

blueyxd 06-09-2006 08:18 PM

I hope they do more good songs and less bad songs this time around

PeEpHoLe_10 06-09-2006 08:56 PM

I like all of the songs on The New Normal, except for maybe Charades and The River Song.

Werny 06-10-2006 02:56 AM

I would like to take this moment to honour the legendary diSEMBOWELMENT. I just got Transcendence Into The Periphal (the original, not the re-release) and it's absolutely brilliant, some of the best doom I've heard on there.

dUSK 06-10-2006 04:50 AM

For anyone who wants it, I have the leak of The Butterfly Effect - Imago. Post your email if you want it, and I will send it to you tomorrow morning after I finish getting drunk.

(I'll read and respond to the new posts in the thread at a time when I haven't been drinking.)

Werny 06-10-2006 09:21 AM

Isn't that already out in stores?

Heads up for Fack... I'm Dead!

Besides Blood Duster and the aforementioned shocked, deceased man, does anyone know any other aussie grind bands? Aussie grind = good!

Hehehe at the Cryptopsy concert the F..I'm Dead singer goes "isn't it Sunday today? Ye-e-e-eah, this is the place to be! F*CK THE FOOTY!" funny fellow.

Riva 06-11-2006 04:54 AM

Never been into Blood Duster. Fuck... I'm Dead is great though.

PeEpHoLe_10 06-11-2006 05:05 AM

What does everyone think of Sunk Loto?Im pretty sure they have new album coming out soon, which could be good.Their last album is fairly good IMO.Im surprised they arent more popular than they are.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-11-2006 06:14 AM

I've never checked out Blood Duster.

That type of grind that tries to be funny (Anal Cunt etc) doesn't really interest me.

dUSK 06-11-2006 06:55 AM

I missed most of Blood Duster at a festival I went to, but the 2 songs I saw were pretty decent. I should try and pick up an album by them.

Werny 06-11-2006 07:45 AM

If you don't like the humor, why not just listen to the music? They have some really great, rocking riffs sometimes. Although they aren't really the most grindcore band around, unlike F...I'm Dead which own arse.

KRASH 06-11-2006 08:58 AM

grinspoon or summin' i heard one of their songs was pretty kewl

blueyxd 06-11-2006 09:04 PM

yeah, they were alright back in about 1998

Riva 06-11-2006 09:48 PM

Grinspoon had a few good songs back when I was in year 8 or so.

Txus 06-11-2006 09:49 PM

Hey, I think Seascapes Of The Interior are from Australia right? If so...there should me more discussion about this wonderful musicians.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-12-2006 12:50 AM

Seascapes are an awesome Post Rock band. bluey got me into them. It's too bad they released so little though.

Also, for fans of Seascapes, Adams new project, The Boy Who Spoke Coulds has new some up on their myspace.

I think they have a couple of EPs. You can download more songs off their myspace.

I also want to find out whether or not that track cuts out, or if it's supposed to be like that
