Yeah, the same way the Streetlight Manifesto singer sounds a lot like the Catch 22 singer |
They're good. Been talked to death in here. Nothing new to say untill they put out new material or something.
Nothing has been announced that they are rerecording Keasby nights. |
It should be out in the next couple months
|

Ohh. He's the same. I like SM, but I reckon Catch 22 are better. Only slightly, but still. |

streetlight is one of my favorite bands for sure. i want to see some more BOTAR action but anything from that group of people would be fine. definately cant wait for the new cd, but release dates are always being pushed back. |

Just be patient, talking about all these releases won't make them hit shelves any sooner. |
yeah i saw them on the ska is dead II tour and i heard him mention something about that and i talked to the bassist about keasby nights 2. its just really frustrating because they are so good and im so impatient
|
hot thanks for the info. looks like there will be a new streetlight and a new Botar
(top 2 3ed wave ska bands) coming out befor next year. hot thanks for your help im going to bed |
As some of you might know Streetlight when they play Point/Countpoint live they play keasby Nights in the middle of it. There have been live mp3 floatinf around, but last night I was bored and decided to put together a botched recorded version using the 2 cd's.
So here it is to my botched edit of Point/Keasby Nights/Counterpoint. http://s39.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1AT0O372NT9HU0M34GPXDFTR4H |
haha! Dude, you are awesome.

this is from streetlights website:
the whole "2" debacle is half truth, half fiction. very few people know what actually is going down and those people, ironically, are the only ones keeping quiet. people will speculate and talk trash regardless, so be it. at the end of the day, we're simply doing something we believe in, a part of a whole that won't be entirely unveiled for quite some time. everyone sit tight, it'll all come together eventually, then you can judge. this we can tell you: a) there are no numbers involved. don't even ask how that happened, it's ridiculous b) no new songs, really. but you'll be surprised, hopefully pleasantly. c) we're doing this to prevent you from spending money unnecessarily. you'll understand that soon as well. d) trust us. we try to do the right thing as much as possible, and our number one priority, as always, is the music. |
Good job on that song Reiner.
|
the "surprises" are probably "point/keasbey nights/counterpoint", the BOTAR version of "Dear Sergio" (electric, though), maybe another more evolved version of "1234 1234" and/or "Giving Up Giving In", possibly a longer bass solo in "Walking Away", maybe a longer version of "Riding the Fourth Wave" with more solos and possibly a bridge, and most likely a better guitar solo in "Kristina".
Well, that's what i think is going to happen. I may be right, i may be wrong. But i would like to hear those things happen. |

What are they reffering to? |
i guess the CD. About the "II" and what songs are actually on it.
|
i guess the CD. About the "II" and what songs are actually on it.
im guessing that too. its even up on victorys site as keasbey nights 2, but streetlight is saying that all this ''2'' stuff is BS. it seems their own label dosent even know what they are up to, wierd... |
im guessing that this new cd will sound nothing like the original Keasby nights because A moment of violence was a redo of a moment of silence and those two songs dont really sound very much alike
|

yeah it is really strange how they are so elusive about dates and progress. i think they do it on purpose almost because it builds anticipation.
moment of silence and moment of vilence definately sound alike, what are you listening to? infact they were made to sound that way on purpose, hence the simaler titles. sk8ska, what program did you use to make that mp3? i was thinking put like a second of space inbetween the songs and it would sound a little better. sounds pretty cool though, maybe a preview almost of what number 2 is going to sound like? |
Audacity, you can find it for free at www.download.com
|
Too all you talking about the new record, I do recall SM saying not to trust anything unless it is on their site.
Great band and nice job reiner. |
im seeing them on saturday apparently
|

Are you kidding me? They aren't going to punk out every song on Keasbey Nights. And one more thing. Those two songs have the EXACT SAME chord progression. The only difference= it's distorted and faster. |
a better place, a better time is such an amazing song.
|
I love Streetlight. Going to see them Monday in London! No they arent working on a new album as they are touring Europe atm, but Im sure they might after the tour is finished
|
Theres so many of SLM threads, but Its an amazing band none the less, But for the past couple weeks iv been into Catch 22 more... The one thing i dont get is that some people seem to think eveything after c/22 's first album was crap, but then SLM is the greatest thing to ever happen to ska.

SLM didnt really do anything to ska. They aren't really a ska band. And Tomas was an incredible creative force for Catch 22. So when he left, yes, everything Catch 22 did after that sucked. Except for "Alone in the Crowd". |
Im Just saying what I Hear, personally i like it all.

I hate it when a band puts out an amazing first album and everyone says that everything after that is crap. I see it with catch 22, Dropkick Murphys, buch of other bands too. Its probably not even fair to compare their other albums to Keasbey, that became a classic immeaditley, but Alone In A Crowd is still a very very very good cd. And as far as Dinosaur Sounds goes, everyone is getting on Ryan saying he is a horrible song writer, but he wrote a lot of the songs from AIAC. Personally, i still like Dinosaur Sounds, but everyone is writing them off too quickley i think, bands do put out albums that not everyone thinks is amazing, and they are still an incredible live band. |

No one likes you anymore. |
Haha i missed that, so how are they not a ska band?
