2. the song "just a phase"....i dont know why. but im sure i'll like it eventually...like i used to dislike "favorite things" but now i like it
Man, just keep listening to it. Definately one of my favorites off MV......love the guitar progressions, the intro, and the scratching part after the 1st verse and prechorus when you expect it to get heavier. Some things I don't like: 1. Some of Brandon's vocals the last two albums. I like that he's experimenting, but he's been messing w/that falsetto a little too much (the verse in Leech comes to mind). Hopefully he'll find a good balance on the next album. 2. While we're on Brandon, his lyrics have gone way downhill. Crow had the worst lyrics since Fungus IMO. 3. Setlists. They got better with mixing it up on the most recent tour, but they've got more than enough material now where they could switch it up every night. Saw them in Tampa and Orlando and I think there were only 2 or 3 different songs the 2nd night. I'm sick of hearing Warning, Wish You Were Here, Nice To Know You, and Stellar every single time I see them. Same would go for Drive too if they hadn't changed it up with the bada$$ bass/piano version. |

just a phase is probably my favourite incubus song... it is absolutely incredible, i can't get enough of it! i can't believe that you dont like it. it is a really well structured song and i think it catches the band at one of their collective creative peaks... that's my opinion anyway |
I like Just a Phase, I think its one of the best on MV.
I don't have a favorite album cover because none of them are very good. |
is there anything you dont like about incubus?
there are only two things i dont like about incubus 1. they shouldve turned up mikes guitar on the Red Rock Dvd 2. the song "just a phase"....i dont know why. but im sure i'll like it eventually...like i used to dislike "favorite things" but now i like it
There's an option at the main menu for another sound thing. I don't maybe dolby something? Anyway, just switch to it and you'll hear his guitar louder. |
Oh sh!t
Looks like i'm seeing incubus if my friend and i can get tix to reading. |
What are your thoughts on the band Incubus. Do you like the new bassist?
Serpent Temptation is an awesome album. :thumb: |
^ That joke is also not funny :thumb:
The band you guys are talking about is far more of a joke than the one I am talking about. |
Considering the joke had already been made pages back, and that it is clear which badn we are talking about, your post was unfunny and irrelevant. NOw fuck off you elitist cunt.

Oh, I thought this was a new thread. What exactly did I say here that warranted me being called an "elitist cunt"? |
Nothing but your posts everywhere else speak for themselves :).
|
If anything, it's you who is being the elitist cunt, by squashing my attempts to discuss another band of the same name.
|
Make a different thread, it is clear that this thread is about the incubus with albums such as Morning view. The mention of the new bassist confirms it. If you wanna talk about the other abnd start another thread.
|
This thread is about the THE CURRENT BAND INCUBUS
|
i think if incubus makes a greatest hits album it should be acoustic...not just mike and brandon but the whole group acoustic...like in the first dvd. just cause it'd be different
|
I think a Greatest Hits album is still a few years away. I doubt it'll be acoustic as well, though it would be pretty cool
|
Oh sh!t
Looks like i'm seeing incubus if my friend and i can get tix to reading.
I already got mine. :p Having said that, I've already seen them live anyway. |
I wouldnt dig a acoustic greatist hits album, It wouldnt have all the effects in there song. Besides, Mike writes all the songs first acoustic style.
|

what do you think is Mikes greatest song? not counting the Odyssey...
|
Either Pistola, Deep Inside or Sick Sad Little World
|
I would say Sick, but Nowhere Fast is so creative.
|
I'm not a huge fan of Nowhere Fast though, theres something about it that just doesn't click with me.
|
Well, Make Yourself songs arent that popular.
|
i think "nowhere fast" was more of a great song for Jose..i love the drums in that
as for mike Sick Sad Little World The Warmth Pistola he has so much to adjust and so much to play in those songs PS: Make Yourself actually is at the top of the list on my friends favorite album...and i really liked it..i know that whole cd note for note, bit by bit...its my third favorite incubus album (second favorite if you dont count EPs as albums) |
One of my favorite bands.
dude, me too... make yourself or morning view...great albums. |
Besides, Mike writes all the songs first acoustic style.
Uh, says who? I've never heard that from him before....in fact, I'm almost positive that he wrote Pardon Me on electric first. In his guitar.com interview from years back he talks about how he changed up the song for acoustic and had to fill in for the bass.... His best song? Sick, Sad Little World or Deep Inside gets my vote. |
Pistola.
I've just noticed that in 13 pages of this thread, not one person has mentioned the DJ. Comments? |

Dj Kilmore of Incubus is creative as far as a Dj for a rock band. I dont know if he did any Dj work on Fungus Amongus. I found his samples on Science to get old after a while. I love the sound effects on the song Calogne though. He started to scratch more on Make Yourself and Morning View. He started using alot of samples again on ACLOTM.
|
i mentioned him i think...unless that was in the A&I forum...but i like kilmore cause he provides like a background soundscape for the band...like he doesnt just scratch all the time and thats whats awesome about him...i love how he puts lil things in to make sh*t sound tight..like in Mexico..the lil ship noise and i love how its all in tune but i guess you can adjust that on the tables..im not sure i havent messed with tables (yet). and i never knew untill i saw it live that the "diggity do ga"s that brandon does at the beginning of "nice to know you" was actually just scratching.. and his solos are awesome (ie Red Rocks DVD)...
but i did like Dj lyfe cause of his speed...and i kinda dont like the "wooha" that kilmore does in "green" but i guess thats life..haha |

there was no DJ on Fungus Amongus thats why the songs are different on Enjoy Incubus because that has the dj...but thats DJ Lyfe..Dj Lyfe did Enjoy Incubus and SCIENCE..but left the band cause they were getting too popular and DJlyfe wanted to stay underground (or so he claims) so in steps kilmore from Make Yourself and on...and "BattleSTar" has Dj Kilmore and the two tablists of Jurassic 5 (cut chemist and DJ numark) |
I really like Battlestar, it's an awesome song. It seems on ACLOTM he kind of stepped down a little bit though.
|
Well ALOTM is guitar and vocally dominated, Science is Dj dominated.
|
I'm just saying he didn't really do anything on ACLOTM though.
|
He did. Listen closer.
|
^yeah definatly
|
He did alot of cool stuff on ACLOTM, I love the sample at the begining of Zee Deveel
|
anyone else like audiovent?
|
audiovent? I've only heard one song from them (the energy, i think?) a long time ago...and never heard them again. hey, isn't the singer from that band or someone related to Boyd? Brother? I'm not sure..i could be wrong..i'm not a big fan of audiovent
