Great hats, going to pick up a pair of 14"s from Long and Mcquaide in Toronto on Saturday. Maybe see what else I can scrounge up while in the T dot :thumb:
Right on man, great store.

Tell me what you get them for.

White Riot! 01-27-2005 11:05 PM
I'm pondering...
Sabian XS20 rock ride ($90ish)
or Meinl Amun powerful ride ($160ish)?
Go With the Meinl Amun powerful Ride

I've never actually been to a Toronto music store before, just the small shop we have in town, so I'm really looking forward to scoping this place out.

I will definately hit you back with some prices. :thumb:

I think I'll do that. I have to see what I'm willing to pay for. The XS20 series is great, but for some more dough I can get pro cymbals.

groomits 01-28-2005 04:00 PM

I just noticed that we can buy vault from massmusic... maybe its like that with all the store, but I saw it in massmusic. so for anyone is interested the ride is 300-350$...
Im looking for a crash that would work well with my 16" AAX metal crash. i dont want another metal crash though.
unfortunatly, in having a smaller, heavy crash...this may limit some of your options...so my suggestions are of the same weight area, but in diffrerent lines.

AA Rock Crash, HHX Power Crash, Hand Hammered Rock Crash....all of which, are in 18"ish sizes.

chaos_through_order_13 01-29-2005 02:21 AM

i'm looking for a good crashable ride, but with enough ping so that when i get going fast, i can still hear each individual stroke clearly.... i was thinking of the 21" A Zildjian Sweet Ride? anyone have any opinions on it or have other suggestions? (price doesn't matter) :thumb:

bobby__johnny 01-29-2005 12:32 PM

22" A or AA Medium Ride.

Plan B. 01-29-2005 03:08 PM

Mine was priced at, $160 (CDN) I believe.

-TheGlassPrison- 01-29-2005 05:32 PM

yes....

Paragon hats RULE!!

groomits 01-29-2005 06:17 PM

what do you guys think about the AAX 17'' dark crash. I think I'll buy one. I try it at a store and I find too cool!! With what type of music does it fit well?

an_original_name 01-29-2005 06:19 PM

^^^ i've played an 18" AAX dark crash and it sounded pretty good. it would probably fit into most styles of music.

bobby__johnny 01-29-2005 09:20 PM

unless your into Thin cymbals, i think its a waste of time. better to go for a line that is meant for darker cymbals, and have a choice of weights. HHX Stage Crash. a tad heavier, and an excellent Cymbal.

on other topics...i finally got a stand for my AA Medium Crash....now my kit is sexy....er

DruMMeR_BoY14 01-29-2005 11:15 PM

DAm you'll pullin gthe chicks now with that AA medium crash bobby

You mean you've been waiting all that time for a stand just to play your cymbal?!

Der Meister 01-30-2005 07:54 AM

So I've changed my mind completely on what cymbals i want after trying out some of the K customs, i narowed it down to 14" K custom Dark Hats, 16" k custom dark crash and a 20" k custom ride. For another crash, i don't know wether to get a cymbal that would blend with the dark crash or to get somthing like an 18'' Zildjian A crash so that i have 2 very different sounds.

pearl.master.brx.punkster 01-30-2005 09:53 AM

hi thinking of getting a zildjian oriental 12" china trash any thoughts/alternatives = thanks..

bobby__johnny 01-30-2005 10:16 AM

chaos_through_order_13 01-30-2005 02:13 PM

i was wondering if anyone has any sound clips of the new sabian "vault" cymbals they could paste on this website? i hear their loud and cutting, just what i'm looking for :thumb: (and yes i tried searching, but my computers messed and says some mumbo jumbo about this or that and doesn't let me search..... **** computers)

Eric? Anyone? Jebus?

Plan B. 01-30-2005 05:42 PM

Maybe checkout a 17" K Thin crash. I have one, it's one of my favourite crashes, although isn't meant for heavy music. Mainly rock, jazz or studio use.

Murd_666 01-30-2005 05:47 PM
Mine was priced at, $160 (CDN) I believe.
If it's an 18" same was the one I saw and the 19" is $175

Murd_666 01-30-2005 06:05 PM

well, if your playing Balls out trash metal, then by all means, get Rudes. if you play some dynamics, look into 2002 Power Crashes (they should be the same prices), or Dimensions Power Crashes (A Bit More)

Murd_666 01-31-2005 03:57 PM
well, if your playing Balls out trash metal, then by all means, get Rudes.
I aint playin no thrash meatle I just like loud cymbals^^

MerDeNoms 01-31-2005 08:04 PM

Rudes kick the **** out of Z Customs, I'll give you that much. They aren't bad. They actually came out with RUDE Thin Crashes. I have to hear these. They sound like they will be awsome.

bobby__johnny 01-31-2005 09:15 PM

A Rude Thin Crash?....that kinda defeats the purpose of the Rude line doesnt it?

thats like having a Z Custom Jazz Ride.
I aint playin no thrash meatle I just like loud cymbals^^
then look into AA Rock Crashes...they are a little cheaper i beleive, and everybit as loud.

llama123 02-01-2005 12:52 PM

^ True.
Though Paiste wanted to open up the model to a larger variety of players (the slightly softer genres), but keep the same RUDE characteristics.

bobby__johnny 02-01-2005 01:03 PM

but that also kinda defeats the whole point of it being Rude "Classic"

llama123 02-01-2005 01:07 PM

^ Aye, so it does :(.
