The Ashtray Girl 10-07-2004 12:39 PM
If I had a friend in the same situation, I wouldn't support her in that decision. Abortion is killing, and that's the end of it,
But even if that's your view, do you not think that ultimately comes down to her decision? If the father was less of a cunt, I'd say he should be involved too.

I wish abortions were never necessary, but I also don't want to see a) back-street, highly fatal, illegal abortions and b) babies born into unloving families where they are not wanted and resented.

Iai 10-07-2004 12:45 PM
are you for it or against i though?
I am 100% pro-choice.

The Ashtray Girl 10-07-2004 01:33 PM

~nods~ definitely. And yeah, I'm all for lowering the limit, as babies have survived in the past that could have been legally aborted. That can't be right.

br3ad_man 10-07-2004 07:02 PM
Obviously it's not her fault that she's pregnant, but it's not the babies' fault either. The baby doesn't deserve to die just because it is unwanted. I'd feel bad if I was a woman and I aborted my baby. I'd feel even worse if I was a friend who just let one of my friends do that so she could feel terrible about it for the rest of her life. But that's just me.

a baby is only a baby outside of the womb, inside the womb is a fetus which is a collections of cells unable to support its life on its own giving the right of its fate to the bearer. abortion isnt the best way i'll agree but living in the world we do, do you really want a child to come into this world when its parent isnt even able to take care of themselves?

Tomahawk 10-07-2004 11:04 PM

Trust me, this argument will go nowhere. As much as I disagree with BM, it's his opinion and he's entitled to it. As long as he doesn't go bombing abortion clinics.

the entire last page was like "the abortion page," but i decided not to get involved since i have no realy staunch opinion on the matter. Subject change?

I'm going to see Explosions in the Sky TONIGHT. the show starts at 9, but i hear that Explosions doesn't go on until 11 or so. and my friends said that they dont want to go that early or wait around that long. is anyone else going to this concert tonight, and what time would be a good time to actually enter the venue? I'm too tired to make my own decisions. :upset:

Tapeworm 10-08-2004 07:00 AM

Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff, just go at 9, and the support band might be really good. You've gotta be there for the build up.

I'm going to see Missy Higgins again tomorrow night and Damien Rice next week. I'm excited. :D

In this situation, I wouldn't suggest the mother try to take care of the baby, I'd suggest that she put it up for adoption.

Sorry to continue this, but I needed to add that in.

Have fun Tapeworm, while I wish I was there :thumb:

/pothead

Tapeworm 10-08-2004 07:56 AM

Sounds like a good idea actually, especially for Explosions. That would be amazing to be high at that.

/doesn't smoke anymore

br3ad_man 10-08-2004 07:56 AM

Have a great show man, and don't get into trouble.

In other news, me and one of my best mates made a pledge to each other than if we ever turn into "that guy" (the one I described on the page before this one), we will cut off each other's balls.

Tomahawk 10-08-2004 08:00 AM

Yeah go at 9. To hell with them.

And to hell with all of you good-concert-goers. I'm not jealous. I'm sure I'll have just as much fun seeing "generic local pop punk cover band #43".

Wanker 10-08-2004 08:17 AM

meh.

them and a perfect circle are the best bands i('ve/will) see(n), anyways.

Zappa 10-08-2004 08:37 AM

No school today. Possibly going to a local show behind the art gallery to see The Fried Chinese Donalds and Balls Deep.

Master Arkam Kannon 10-08-2004 08:44 AM

i might be seeing the moving units tomorrow depending on if it sells out or not. lately ive been at my friend's fixing his garage and turning it into a worthy place to have parties at, alas nye of my friends like as much music as i...

asymm 10-08-2004 08:45 AM

I'm seeing The Black Heart Procession and Enon next week... biggest act to hit Des Moines...

Master Arkam Kannon 10-08-2004 08:47 AM

enon's touring again, i thought they were doing some studio time, ive missed them quite a few times since seeing them open for the mars volta, i wonder what they're like at a smaller show...

Happymeal 10-08-2004 07:17 PM

*gack*

I wanna go to a gig in downtown Toronto.. It's been forever since I've been to one. I really hope my parents get a job soon, not that I mind being less fortunate than a lot of people in school.

I'm going in two days. The show starts at 7, and there are 4 bands. One problem, I have to be home by 12:30.

Explosions better fuckin' play before I have to leave.

JuicyFruitGuy 10-09-2004 02:02 PM

Muse and The Pixies are both coming here (to Montreal) and I wanna see them both like mad! I can only see one so that'll be The Pixies but the sounds gonna be crap :( they're playin in a freakin hockey stadium (Why do I have to live in Montreal?)

br3ad_man 10-09-2004 04:46 PM

Muse > The Pixies

RIPJoeStrummer 10-09-2004 08:50 PM
Muse > The Pixies
Never!

I think I might be driving up to that Pixies show in Montreal in November. Is it around the 25th? If I get to go, it'll be the best Birthday ever.

Well_Respected_Man 10-09-2004 09:08 PM

RIPJoeStrummer 10-09-2004 09:23 PM

I honestly don't see what everybody sees in Muse, I haven't heard anything that really blows me away. They have some good songs, but nothing exceptional.

br3ad_man 10-09-2004 10:48 PM

^^^
That is my exact opinion of The Pixies.

Happymeal 10-10-2004 07:12 AM

I just remembered, br3ad's in looooooooooooooooove. hee hee hee

Lowend 10-10-2004 11:23 AM

i saw rufus wainwright. he was amazing. he forgot the lyrics to cigarettes and chocolate milk though....

his voice is so different when he's just talking. after the show, he came out in front of the venue, and just talked to people and whatever. He really does have a huge gay lisp.

br3ad_man 10-10-2004 09:58 PM

It was my birthday yesterday.

Happymeal: :p

Happymeal 10-10-2004 10:33 PM

Belated Happy Birthday!! Welcome to the Sixteeners club:smoke:

I'm so overly excited when I see people in love. lol

br3ad_man 10-11-2004 05:30 AM

I don't know if I'm going to call it that yet, I'm still a young 'un and I'm not totally sure of all of my emotions yet. I don't know though...it seems possible to me...only time will tell I guess...ah well, needless to say, I'm very happy at the moment, and I'll keep you updated on everything that happens :)

Thanks for the birthday wish too :)

Happymeal 10-11-2004 06:22 AM

Hah, that's cool. Don't rush it man, hope everything works out for both of you.

I once had an infatuation on a German girl, and we broke up 5 days after. She hunted me down for almost a year:p

/goes to L&R

Tomahawk 10-11-2004 09:07 AM

Your birthday was the same day as my Dad's. He's not 16 though.

Edit: omg 1000th post. That is so depressing.

Luxor 10-11-2004 10:02 AM

Mx is browsing the forums, and he just modded PDWAB in pop-punk... That probably means we'll be getting our mod sooner or later.

...Even though they haven't even told us who it'll be.
