I got about 12 CDs for $150, which is about $12.50 a cd. Which is ridiculously cheap in Australia.
That is very cheap, from what little I know of Australian dollars. br3ad seems to get incredibly cheap used CDs all the time (like $1-$5). Which 12 were they?

gmoneyguy 08-17-2004 09:54 AM

I get my cds from best buy

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 09:55 AM

Best Buy is pretty cheap and a pretty good selection.

Kingofdudes 08-17-2004 09:57 AM
Best Buy is pretty cheap and a pretty good selection.
yep I was surprised they had children of bodom there.

now its time for physics  yayy test!

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 10:01 AM

They generally have a rack of CD's there for $7 or $8. They generally suck but the fact that they have it is cool.

Paranoidd 08-17-2004 10:03 AM

Sometimes chain stores have pretty good deals.

For example they have a bunch of CD's on @ 2 for $30 Canadian (About 25 American or 15 Euro).

I picked up Lateralus and Number of the Beast, and they had alot more good CD's in that rack.

CD's are just too pricey...and then they wonder why people burn CD's.

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 10:05 AM

I hate having burned CDs. It just doesn't feel the same as having the real thing with album art and the original case.

Paranoidd 08-17-2004 10:07 AM

I have alot of retail CD's, but I would not be able to buy all the CD's I have burnt. I have too many bills to pay.

superpeer 08-17-2004 10:07 AM

Yeah, I hate burned CD's.

In Fact, I have 70% real cd's and 30% copied, I think.

Bartender 08-17-2004 10:14 AM

I also hate burned CDs. I have one copied CD, and that's Weezer's Green Album, which I was given without asking for it :)

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 10:19 AM

Alot of times what I do to get CD's I want is get free ones form a radiostation (promo copies) that I don't really want but get a ton of them and then trade them with my brother for the CD's of his I want. Works wel.

Needs to be known outside the death heads.

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 10:53 AM

Won't let me listen.

Paranoidd 08-17-2004 11:05 AM

Are they like dance remixes or something?

Bartender 08-17-2004 11:05 AM

EDIT: ^yeah.
Won't let me listen.
Well, they're dance remixes of classic metal/hard rock songs. The concept alone is horrific and hilarious. Actually hearing them is just a bonus :)

Paranoidd 08-17-2004 11:09 AM

Yeah, unfortunately, a good 90% of dance music is utter shyte (I like dance music, just FYI), but alot of no-talent producers have the balls to sample a song, apply a one note bassline, some distorted strings and call it a "remix"

Its ridiculous. You should hear what some of these people have "remixed"...

Another Brick in the Wall...California Dreaming...Riders on the Storm <-- actually that one isn't bad.

I used to DJ house music, and I still produce some (those production skills come in handy for recording my own music :thumb: )

But most dance music is shyte, period.

Bartender 08-17-2004 11:18 AM

Have they announced that they're doing it?

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 11:19 AM

INTERRUPTION! I just changed my AIM screen name again. I have a habit of doing this. This one is my favorite - I Like To Act Gay. It would've been Gay Tendencies but that was taken. Oh well, resume conversation.

Paranoidd 08-17-2004 11:20 AM

Hacked account or just random rant?

Paranoidd 08-17-2004 11:25 AM

:upset:

I can just imagine Fieldy doing a slap bassline on the song...oh man I feel sick.

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 11:58 AM

I hate covers. They're so lame. I don't care how good it is, it sucks. Remixes are cool though because it's like adding onto the old song, not just redoing it.

Paranoidd 08-17-2004 12:07 PM

Not if its a bad remix. There are some good ones. PQM did a nice version of Welcome to the Machine.

There are some good covers though, for sure. Tools cover of No Quarter? Awesome.

 :(

There is no god!

superpeer 08-17-2004 12:29 PM
I know they're playing it on tour, and I heard it might be on their Greatest Hits. But I'm not sure about that.
I heard them doing it live. It wasn't that bad.

At least they did the solo.

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 12:38 PM

Congrats on 8k Superpeer

I really don't like covers that leave out things like solos (almost all Lynyrd Skynrd covers)

Rage Against The Lavigne 08-17-2004 12:42 PM
Litnin took part in just as much flaming as anyone else. He would also trick people into getting banned by making spam threads and banning everyone who posted in them. He's not exactly a shining example of a mod.
He was funny though :p

There were better ones, of course, I was using him as an example of a 'non-wimpy' mod.

BludgeonySteve 08-17-2004 12:43 PM

Limp bizkit at the ghey mtv metallica think. Good god they left out all of the solos :(

I like the Jeff Healey band's (my new favorite band) covers. Not only does he make it his own, the guitar work is actually better on the cover. And if the song doesn't have a solo he adds one.

superpeer 08-17-2004 12:53 PM

Sum 41 did a good Metallica cover.

superpeer 08-17-2004 12:53 PM
Congrats on 8k Superpeer

Thanks.

BludgeonySteve 08-17-2004 12:56 PM
Sum 41 did a good Metallica cover.
I thought I was the only one who thought that.

Of course I think that their own music is crap. But they did a nice cover of master of puppets ;)

edit: happy 8000th.

Fear the peer!

superpeer 08-17-2004 12:57 PM

I like their own music too. But there they showed they have some talent, which I already knew, obviously.

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 01:06 PM

They started playing Metal covers is why I think. They let a little more metal get into their second album and overall they're my favorite pop punk band.

BludgeonySteve 08-17-2004 01:07 PM

I heard that their next album would be iron maiden-ish. :amaze:

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 01:17 PM

I was just very dissappointed. I heard the song Push It by Static X and was thinking "any song named Pushit has to be cool since Tool's song is"
Unfortunatly it is not living up to expectations.

superpeer 08-17-2004 01:21 PM

Yeah, I'm definitely checking out the new Sum 41 when it comes out.

Bartender 08-17-2004 01:29 PM

Though I don't own any albums, I actually like Sum 41 as well. I think they'll develop into something even better.

Paranoidd 08-17-2004 01:30 PM

Man there is nothing better then taking a good dump.

Sorry, completely random comment. I'm just feeling really good right now. :D

Dancin' Man 08-17-2004 01:32 PM

I can think of something better :naughty:

superpeer 08-17-2004 01:35 PM

Oh no you di'nt
