IMO Pop-Punk is bands like Bouncing Souls, NOFX, Smash-era Offspring, earlier Green Day that's punk with pop hooks.
Power POp is the stuff you see on MTV like GC, Blink, Yellowcard, NFG that is really just pop with guitars.
Fari 'nough. Though I liked Blink's new CD :p

Don't forget Yellowcard has a violinist too

Permanent Solution 11-15-2004 05:43 PM

Riv, you get brownie points in my book for even knowing who Sigur-Ros is.

On that note, I'll also have to add Soilwork, In Flames and Katatonia to my list.

My picks for some awesome songwriting talent would have to be:

-Rush
-The Eagles
-Fleetwood Mac
-Don Henley (solo)
-Peter Gabriel

I have also recieved much acclaim for my own songs and poems, www.fictionpress.com/~mikesmale is were I post all of them if anyone's interested.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 11-24-2004 06:38 PM

Maybe I should mention how they were all published as of November 22, 2004 in a literary journal of collection of poets accross the country and won 15,000 dollars in a contest for one. I detect jealousy too.

I used to post my songs here and they got excelent reviews

And just so you know, only 11 of the poems on my linked site are songs, I even mention which ones are songs in the summery and it's in the into anyway. the rest are poems wich also were published, all of them were to be exact.

You're songs are by no means terrible, I read a few of them, and they all seem like solid 8/10s. And congrats on the money too. But remember, people with some of the worst lyrics in the world top the charts, and get millions of dollars.

And (no jealousy here, cause I know I suck... but...) I would take one of APS's best songs over the few I read from you anyday.

[I]A statue erected as a memorial to one of the

'nuff said.
