Then you have no idea what you are talking about. Good day.

They have the norse lyrics but they don't have that chanty viking sound, so I don't consider them viking metal, lol.

A lot of Viking metal doesn't have that. Listen to more of it and you might have known that.

RetiredAt21 08-27-2005 12:05 AM

Amon Amarth own.

Special Brew 08-27-2005 12:47 AM

According to MA they aren't viking metal either. I always thought viking metal was a genre, not somethign based on lyrical content. I guess I could be wrong, the furthest I've looked into the genre is Tyr. I've never considered Amon Amarth to be very much related to them.

Viking metal is any band that deals with norse culture, religion or beliefs. There is no one sound to it.

RetiredAt21 08-27-2005 11:50 AM

Amon Amarth are my favorite Viking Metal band.

40 oz 2 freedom 08-27-2005 12:08 PM

Tyler listens to Bitter End, you should too.

NewKindofArmy03 08-27-2005 12:24 PM

Amon Amarth are awesome, i'm gonna put them on now.

RetiredAt21 08-27-2005 12:50 PM

I'm listening to "The Last With Pagan Blood" right now.

Let's Chop Cats! 08-27-2005 01:01 PM

I've been listening to the same old stuff. More bands need to release new albums.
I've been listening to the same old stuff. More bands need to release new albums.
There's been a bunch of new albums this year. For example:

Norma Jean - O' God the Aftermath
Blindside - The Great Depression
As I Lay Dying - Shadows are Security
Darkest Hour - Undoing Ruin
Emery - The Question
Every Time I Die - Gutter Phenomenon
The Number Twelve Looks Like You - Nuclear Sad Nuclear
From Autumn to Ashes - Abandon Your Friends
The Agony Scene - Darkest Red

etc, etc...

Let's Chop Cats! 08-27-2005 02:56 PM

All those bands are terrible and should be shot for making new albums.

factor46 08-27-2005 03:04 PM

Terrible? Are you sure about all of them? Nice job recognizing talent. Even if some of them aren't really that talented. Some of them still are. How about you try to be a little more open-minded.

I think their all good. But oh well. Our opinions differ I guess.

40 oz 2 freedom 08-27-2005 03:05 PM

The new Darkest Hour is really good, that's about it.

Let's Chop Cats! 08-27-2005 03:06 PM

They're all incredibly generic and boring, nor do any of them really belong in this forum.

factor46 08-27-2005 03:09 PM

So you're telling me Norma Jean, The Number Twelve, As I Lay Dying, Darkest Hour, and Every Time I Die.....non of them are any form of hardcore?

If not, then yeah, I guess they shouldn't be in this forum.

Basically.

Let's Chop Cats! 08-27-2005 03:11 PM

Not hardcore.

factor46 08-27-2005 03:11 PM

Really? So I'd be intrigued to find out what genre you'd classify all them in.

Arrakakaka 08-27-2005 03:12 PM
Not hardcore.
I just post whatever I've been listening to today.
