Yeah, he means that amazon lists Keasby Nights 2 as coming out then, but that isn't true.
http://www.victoryrecords.com/UpcomingReleases.asp

Nyabingy 04-03-2005 03:39 PM

not to shabby

Let's Chop Cats! 04-03-2005 03:41 PM

Didn't they say it wasn't going to be called Keasby Nights a while ago?
Didn't they say it wasn't going to be called Keasby Nights a while ago?
Yes, they did say there was no new material too.

Let's Chop Cats! 04-03-2005 03:45 PM

I wouldn't mind them redoing Keasby Nights as it is my all time favorite ska album, but I'd rather hear new stuff.

skankinOstrich 04-03-2005 04:37 PM

Streetlight re-doing Keasbey Nights is not a good idea.

they're not catch 22, and they never will be.
making your songs repeat themselves over and over again for 7 minutes doesnt make you an awesome band. it makes you annoying as hell.

Let's Chop Cats! 04-03-2005 05:05 PM

To be fair they're more Catch 22 than Catch 22 are.

Permanent Solution 04-03-2005 05:18 PM

 Well, then new Catch is...but that's a good thing heh.

Uh-Buh. They basically are Catch 22 minus Ryan Eldred and have a few more guys from one Cool Guy.

And as for re-recording Keasby Nights: i think it is a GREAT idea. Maybe Catch 22 will finally break up once they stop making money off of Keasby Nights. I think Streetlight should have bought the royalties for the original keasby nights in the first place. But a more evolved version will be much better. Hopefully they will have the BOTAR version of "Dear Sergio".

Brain Toad 04-03-2005 06:37 PM

Because they are better than Catch 22.

But that's just my opinion.

skankindude21 04-03-2005 06:40 PM

I definately second that ^. Catch 22 lost everything when Tomas and company left the band. Their release after Keasby nights, Alone in the Crowd, was very good but nothing like Keasby Nights. It sounded alot plainer and Keasby Nights had something only Tomas and the other could provide. Then dinosaur sounds came out showing Catch 22 was only going downhill.

i think that a origional cd would be better but an updated keasby nights i think will still kick ***.

skankinOstrich 04-03-2005 07:30 PM

obviously i was misunderstood.

i meant the ORIGINAL Catch 22. not the new, Dinosaur Sounds catch 22.

i personally think they were much better back in 1998, not rehashed as Streetlight.
Their the best band. Better than the Clash.
What? No!

frenzal_and_rise_against_freak 04-03-2005 10:27 PM

I've only heard a couple of songs but so far, they're ****en rad. I love fast ska, although SM are more just like punk with trumpets, sax etc.

TheNowhereman42 04-03-2005 10:44 PM

no, Dead Pets are punk with trumpets (and put on an awesome show), SM are ska-punk

Catch 22/Streetlight Manifesto

Okay, I'm sure this is done enough, but I went 14 pages back and didn't find the answer so I know it hasn't been done recently.

What is the deal with these 2 bands? I know Tomas was in Catch 22 and got kicked out/quit and took like 2 other members with him, but Catch 22 kept playing the songs he wrote or something (I get that from the song by SM "If you hate me so much, then why do you keep singing my songs").

Can anyone tell me exactly what happened?

And for discussions sake, which one do you people like more?

Rise Me Up 04-12-2005 03:27 PM

streegtlight manifesto is is better

SantaDuJuan 04-12-2005 03:27 PM

Streetlight4eva.

Let's Chop Cats! 04-12-2005 03:32 PM

Tom left the band do to disagreements and C22 kept playing the songs which he wrote. He obviously feels they're his songs and C22 should not be playing them.

Unseen2k0 04-12-2005 03:34 PM

Well, like why doesn't he record them on a SM CD? If he wrote them, wouldn't they be copy righted to his name? What CDs did C22 put out while he was in the band?

Let's Chop Cats! 04-12-2005 03:38 PM

The songs are copyrighted to C22 as a group. There have been rumors of SLM recording them themselves. Tom was in C22 for Keasbey Nights.

go to something like "upcoming releases"... you'll find "Keasby Nights II"

fightwarnotwars 04-12-2005 04:14 PM

i like botar better than SM...

Brain Toad 04-12-2005 04:18 PM

Stretlight is the best, followed by BOTAR, and followed by Catch 22. I don't really like any post Keasby Catch though.

PunkGuitarist 04-12-2005 04:31 PM

Streetlight is the best, then Catch 22 with Tomas. BOTAR is pretty good. I thought KN II came out in january or something. And Streetlight plays C22 songs live.

Permanent Solution 04-12-2005 04:53 PM

The way I understood it, Tomas wanted to tour less and about half agreed and half didn't. So the ones who didn't want to tour left to create a new band and spent more time in the studio, though SM tours now oddly enough. I might be wrong though :-/

Coma_Girl 04-12-2005 05:05 PM

slm = way better than c22

Yea.. you're pretty much correct. And about the "streetlight is now touring" thing: have you ever decided you didn't like something, then later in life you realize that you actually don't mind it?
