AFI - Death Of Seasons
This song has a very clam intro until the second guitars come in, the vocals start and the drum makes a slow beat. It's an impressive introduction to the song I think, and reels you into the full thing

When the verses starts, Davey's voice is very deep and powerful, and put alongside the heavy fierce guitar riffs and drumming, it makes for a good verse as well. I also loved the backing vocals in the verses as well.

When the chorus comes up, his voice goes back to the regular Davey we all know. I think it works well, since that is the only real thing that differates the verses and chorus'. The guitar chords are standard power chords, and are produced nicely

Then the breakdown. This is possibly the only AFI song with a dance feel to it, and to be honest, I like it. It isn't too dancy, but it brings a new "do do do do" feel to the song. The effects used in the breakdown work nicely for the song.

After another verse and chorus, we get the bridge. Here's where it slows down in tempo but has that same AFI sound to it. The palm-muted riff is wonderful alongside the drumming and Davey's voice. When it all kicks into full heavy band again, it sounds OK. I don't think it particular brings anything new to the song, but that's just me

It then slows down again, and you just hear violins with Davey's voice being echoed over the top. I think the way they ended this song is a little to pretencious, and it just doesn't feel like a good ending to me.

Overall, it's a decent song. It is by no means the best AFI song, nor the best on the record, but it's not bad.

Unwritten Law - F.I.G.H.T. (Punk Rock)

Starts off with very heavy and distorted guitar, it sounds liek a nu-metal type of sound, whcih is odd, the drums soon come in, then all the drums are palying full pelt, everything then slows down and the vocals come in and wierd synth type music is played in the background and the guitar every so often plays a chord, then the guitar comes ina ll guns firing again, and some chanting plays, which is effective and nicely done, it goes back to the verse as normal and then back to the chanting.
The chorus then starts, it's possibly the strongest part of the song, the guitar, drums and bass is fast and nice chord progressiins are playing, then some chanting plays at the end of it, it's lilke little girls are chanting it, ths is quite a wierd part, kinda eery...I like it.
The vocals are very soft in the chorus and slightly harsher i the chorus, this repeats, and then the girls chanting happens again, with a dance type tune over the top, the heavy guitar is still going, back to the chorus a few times, with some changes until the end, this is a very fast, up-beat part which seems to keep gaining energy as it goes on. It finishes with the same riff as which the song starts on.

It was ok, the verse was different to what i thought it would be after hearing the opening chords, i thought it would have been much heavier, the chanting over the top is what makes the song i think, and it would have been a poor, bland song without it...

Songs coming soon...

Alkaline Trio - Every Thug Needs A Lady

This song starts off with a somewhat simple yet horribly catchy intro, and then goes straight into the verse. There's little to no guitar in the verse, as the verse is carried by a simple bassline and vocals. I love Dan's voice, and this song is no exception. You can tell right away that this is one of Alkaline Trio's more upbeat songs, both from the catchy as hell melody, and the love song-esque lyrics. The chorus is one of the stronger points to this song, again, with nothing to complicated musically, but it still manages to sound great. The outro is quite similar to the intro.

All in all, a great song. My review doesn't come close to doing it justice.

Brand New - Am I Wrong

First of all, Brand New is one of my favourite bands, so thank you for uploading this song :)
Starts of with an upbeat kind of thoughtful drum beat and guitar part. The bass also flows gently, with Jesse singing. He needs to be louder, because the actual music is really good.I can imagine this is the kind of thing tey'd play on a teen drama. You can easily tell that this is from early in their career, but it's still good. The same music basically continues throughout the whole song, and Jesse's vocals become a little more notable.

Mad Caddies - Good Intentions
It starts out with a nice acoustic riff and vocals laid over the top. When the drums come in, it gets a little bit of a country feel to it, and it sounds really nice actually. Very relaxing and cheery. Then the whole band comes in, and it still keeps that country feel but a little more electric, and I think that works very well

In the chorus, the trumpet comes in slightly along with the rest of the band, and it sounds kinda nice. I think trumpet deserved a little more time in the chorus, but whatever. Also, the slowed down tempo of the chorus adds a bit of mixture to the song.

The verse plays again and the chorus again, and then there's a bridge which emphasises more on the trumpet again. I like this part, it is more upbeat than the chorus, but the trumpet adds that little more energy to it as well. It plays this until the song finishes

Overall, it's a great song. It has a happy feel to the song even with the Western feel, and the song manages to keep the energy flowing through the song even with tempo changes.

Reggie And The Full Effect - Get Well Soon

Starts out with a cool synth diddy, then guitar comes in. Very catchy rhythm, with some nice drums. I'm liking the synth going on in the background during the verses. It has a nice chorus, once again very catchy. The vocals remind me of Action Action's. They sound very similar. Good breakdown, guitar slows down and synth keeps playing same rhythm. Another chorus, then the song fades out. Good song, I need to start listening to RATFE more often. Wow, I didn't write that much. :upset:

Bad Religion - Sanity

I don't have no control so i haven't heard this yet, being a huge Bad Religion fan I chose this.
It starts off with a slow palm muted guitar riff, which picks up a bit of speed and then slows again, the vocals come in and it plays for a while then the vocals stop and full guitar chords are played, it does this for a few times. Gregs vocals are as great as ever and the lyrics are awesome.
The chorus is very catchy, and is also very simple, will be humming this for weeks. Once finished the plam muted chords start agon for a bit until a solo kicks in. Short but sweet.
Back into the verse, same pattern as before, the song is very dark and i love it.
The harmonies come in here, which is amazing, the chorus is played again.
a solo is then played over the chords to the verse, and then the chorus starts with solo and back gorund harmonies singing, a great finish to a great song, it sounds as though it was all building up to it.
I prefer slower bad religion songs like this and inner logic etc..This song was amazing, the riff was simple yet brilliant, the songing was superb and everything was spot on.

Muse- Sunburn
The piano starting out is kind of a nice thing to be away from guitar solos and power chords, The main singer is a little whiny and annoying, but the guitar and bass parts add to the song. The drummer saves the song IMO. It doesn't sound like its put together very well, it seems to need mixing. Then ant the end, they throw in a synth which isn't a good idea IMO
