Seems pretty easy, just the beginning with the Gb|----------------| Db|--------3-2-----| Ab|------4-----3-2-| Eb|0-2-4-----------| seems hard as well as the Gb|--------------------| Db|--------------------| Ab|--------------------| Eb|-5320643053206430-| seems hard. Mmmkays? I have a re-press of the Reign in Blood Tour 86-87 shirt. It pwns.
i found that part easy, the hardest part is playing that entire song sitting down. maybe its just hard for me cuase its such fast picking with the right hand my tricep in my arm burns, when im standing though it dosent, idk maybe im just that weak |
I've started getting into Slayer lately and I'm looking for some good songs to listen to. Currently I am interested in songs that have more of a melodic feel. I appreciate any suggestions.

Melodic Slayer? Try some of their stuff off of "Seasons in the Abyss" or their song "Bloodline." |
How many people here have reversed the intro of Hell Awaits? Its hella cool.
|
So I just got done listening to Angel of Death. Hannemen utterly pwns King on the solo.
|
personally, i dont like slayer much, but most of my friends do. they made me listen to a few of their songs. angel of death, seasons in the abyss and bloodline are pretty good, but im not into metal that much, hard rock is good, but im not a big metal fan.

If you're not keen on metal, you wont be very keen on Slayer :-/ |

Some of their songs are alright, but i wouldnt listen to the band like 24/7 like my friend does |
Here, it's the total opposite. I'm the only person who likes Slayer, while everybody else is hanging off 50 Cent's dick.

Slayer kick ***.

Most other punks seem to like Slayer. All the other punks at my school are big Slayer friends as well. |
It's fair comment to say that Slayer owe a great deal to punk. On the Still Reigning DVD Kerry's talking about how when he met Jeff he was really into the whole punk scene, he shaved his head and everyone thought he was nuts. Jeff had already gotten through a ton of metal that Kerry was currently into and had switched his attention to punk.
Edit: Gotta love those two punk songs Jeff wrote back in '84 which featured on Undisputed Attitude. Can't Stand You and DDAMM. |
I thought that whole album was covers. If not, Drunk Drivers Against Mad Mothers is hilarious.
|
yea i think undisputed attitude is all punk covers, like 4 years ago when i was just geting into slayer i got that cd and thought it was labeled wrong cuase it didnt sound anything like them, thats my least fav slayer cd
|
It's certainly different but I enjoy listening to it once in a while, it's really fast in parts and like Foreign said, it's fucking hilarious :p

Abolish Goverment/Superficial Love and I Hate You are kick @ss songs
|
lets get this thread back in business.
was watching slayer dvd today, war at the warfield, and i think kerry needs to turn up his guitar. watching songs like raining blood, and i saw his fingers moving but didnt hear any guitar. then jeff came in and got the song started. |
Do jeff and kerry play the same notes on some songs or is it different.
|
The covers of Filler and I Don't Wanna Hear It from Undisputed Attitude are amazing.

Sorry guys to get off topic but I got kind of a stupid questin so lol please don't judge
well I'v been a slayer fan for the past 3 years now and all there stuff I basicily love like reign in blood, hell awaits, show no mercy, south of heaven, god hates us all, divine intervention but a couple days ago I was listning to angel of death and I took a chance to listen to it actually and I heard like a lot of meaning in there that I didn't take in to consiteration before O and don't worry i'm not saying there satnists buy all means but, when I heard the lyrics I kind of understood it more, I'm thinking there about like nazism am I correct (and sorry I'm not calling them nazis at all I'm just kind of curious) i'v googled a lot but have came up with not straight foward answer. What made me think about all the nazism is lines like Aushwits the meaning of pain the why I want you to die like cattel you run showers that glimse you of your life and angel of death flying free please don't think I'm calling slayer nazis at all I'm just trying to get like a straight foward answer. My final question is like the entire meaning of the song and if they have like any affilation with nazism Lol again please don't flame me. -Austin |
Angel of Death is about Josef Menegel, the head doctor at the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland during the Holocaust. Hanneman read a book about him and was lie "holy **** this is cool!" and he wrote a song about him.

Mengele* He was one fucked up man. He was a genetisist and was obsessed gentic link between twins. There were stories of him boiling one twin alive to see if any physical damage would be caused to the remaining twin. |
Slayer are good enough but they get reptitive fairly easy and the nazi tie-ins were stupid there was no reason for them to be called nazis and jeff is a very underrated musician/songwriter (he writes most for slayer i think)
|
Yeah, Jeff is very good.
