suckiest solo ---> seven nation army solo
---- but only LIVE with no backup
No, every version of it sucks. And there's a song by Bad Company, i'm not sure if it's Rock and Roll Fantasy or not, but the solo in it is very sloppy and...bad. |
Personally, I think the tone makes it worse.
|
the new green day song solo, "american idiot" i think. it just sounded like power chords with distortion and the wah wah paddle. either way, its a piece of crap and i've heard my little cousin rip better solo's (which isn't saying much)
|
hmm well you may say that "hit the lights" and "ride the lightning" solos suck...but just think...those were when metallica just started...you can't expect their initial stuff to be THAT good can you...
dude......... i understand you're entitled to ur own opinion, but WUT THE ****??? RTL is an awesome solo by Mustaine.... it has a good tone to it, its nice and fast, and even slow at parts.... there are MANY other songs (metallica or not) you could have said instead of RTL. Sure its not #1, but doesn't mean its at the bottom either. I would be impresed if you could play the beginning of that song (even though its tapping, its very hard to get it exactly right). besides, that song has the coolest intro, you DO NOT mess with that song. Diss st.anger all you want tho. Or blink 182, they deserve it more. |
as for worst solo...i would say the solo in What Were All About (is that the title) by Sum 41. is it kerry king who is playing? its just a bunch of feedback and noise. no skill needed.
haha ya i heard that and first thing i did was turn it off. Thats a disgusting solo and even deryck is better than him. Anybody can play fast random notes (no pattern between chromatic or anything) at the recording and try and passing it off as a "hard" solo. i'd give him props if he played it exactly as the recording live anytime. Not that its too hard, I just think he fluked a bunch of notes on the spot. |
they've been around since the 80's, yeah billie joe can't play a good solo, look at the stuff hes written, hes saved that band, if he couldn't write the way he does, he'd be nowhere, but he writes good stuff and hes been able to for 15 years, so don't criticize him, i wanna see you write 15 songs a year for 15 years, and your band be successful, go put that in the pop-punk forums, see what they have to say about it, and dont bitch around saying theres no talent there, listen to Jesus of Suburbia, you'll figure it out
and who do you listen to? and worst solo- neil young's one note solo
i listen to extol, and other stuff you haven't heard of they use the same chords over and over in different transitions yeah good for him, he "saved" the band...i know of them well...so don't give me song titles, if anything the drummer is the only member that is fairly skilled and i will write, and you will see, he can't write a good lick if his life depended on it P.S. i wouldn't be caught dead in pop punk forum :thumb: |
American idiot by green day i mean they suck and its a piss solo and that nob head couldnt even play it
misfits - 138
i love that song and band but that solo blows haha :o |
slayer-reining blood
that solo is just kerry king jerking off with the whammy bar. annoying and incomprehensible. |
punk solo's shouldnt count, they are all like nirvana's, and they are most all played on one string
rush's solos are played on one string to |
This one Lenny Kravitz solo I heard on tv once just awful.
|
rush's solos are played on one string to
No, actually they aren't. |
Just about all Nirvana solos, and of course the classic Fred Durst solo where he butchered his way to the top of the fret board and back and seemed to actually think he was good.
Kurt never thought he was good. He prolly knew he wasnt all that good. He didnt care what everyone else thought. If he liked it, it was good enough. And it was a good thing that he never tried to do some hendrix solo...they would never fit the songs. and for the people that said he couldnt play guitar to save himself...look at where he was...and look at where you are....he must of been decent. huh? |
and for the people that said he couldnt play guitar to save himself...look at where he was...and look at where you are....he must of been decent. huh?
Umm..no sir. There are tons of wayyy more talented bands/people that will never be as popular as Nirvana. If you were walking down the street, and asked any random person who they thought was more famous, Nirvana or Joe Satriani, they would say Nirvana, I can almost gauruntee it. |
Looks like someone was sick when they tought grammar, and punctuation in school.
looks like you were sick when they "taught" how to spell. |
Jet- Are u going to be my girl. Only like 3 notes. heh.
Some punk bands do have pretty good solos.......on the bass. But other than that, they just tremelo pick the root notes of the chords they play.
Agreed with everything but last part. Some punk bands do have good guitar solos and bass solos. Listen to the song Pull My Strings by Dead Kennedys and tell me punk bands dont have good solos. Also Bad Religion does some good solos. |
all of you suck by thinking that only GOOD songs have verses, choruses, bridges, and a WILD and CRAZY solo in it. by creative for once!
|
hmmm worst solo.....anything by greenday, nirvana or any punk band for that matter....seriously all punk solos are is the vocals....and they are unoriginal. Totally my oponion...but i believe guitar solos should be expression an emotion (anger, sadness etc.) not just repeating vocals.. seriously.. :smoke: :smoke:
Listen to Sum 41's new CD, then go die |
I hate rages guitar solos...i think their pathetic. I dont care that he works with the effects, but if he is, make it sound good. Audioslaves is better though
I hate you Audioslave < RATM You <<<< Morello |
**** you DigitalBoy for that remark on Smoke On The Waters solo. I'd like to see you in a million years even ****ing TOUCH Ritchie Blackmore's skills. He could ****ing play circles around you with his feet. Sure, theres better solo's out there from him like the Difficult to Cure solo or Highway Star, but it's still better than anything Jimmy Page ever did (****ing sloppy *** prick he is)
