Agreed. In fact, Black Sabbath has my favorite bass lines of all time. Also, they had two of the greatest metal vocalists of all time with them.
The major problem with Black Sabbath are the dumbasses who claim to be huge Sabbath fans, but only know 2 songs from Paranoid plus a few Ozzy solo songs they think are related to Black Sabbath. They ruined Sabbath for me for awhile.
Like people that say "Black Sabbath is the best band ever" "What's your' favorite Sabbath song?" "Crazy Train". |
Superaut is a great one. and of course Iron Man, War Pigs, Paranoid. I also like Fairies Wear Boots, if only for the lyrics
|
Yea Fairy's wear boots is a good song and everything but the lyrics kinda get me. but it's still cool. I hate when people think Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley, Hellraiser, etc. =Black Sabbath.
It Kills me. |
What about Paranoia
|
You mean Paranoid? Awesome album. Each song is a classic. But the song Paranoid itself reeks of last-minute time-filler. But that's the laminations of most Sabbath fans.
My favorite albums are Black Sabbath, Paranoid, and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Heaven and Hell also rules, but the second half just doesn't match up to the first half. Also, I just got a couple of Bootlegs, one from Asbury Park in 75' and one from San Fransisco from '71. Both kick ***. |
I love Paranoid.
|
Into the Void ....my favourite.

Both of which are fantastic, yet hugely overlooked. |
Technical Ecstasy is a good album, I'll admit. But on the other hand it might not be mentioned because it's not that great compared to the earlier albums. Or the first 2 with Dio.
I have yet to hear Never Say Die, though. |
In my opinion...they're both as good as the rest of the Ozzy-era Sabbath albums, I'd rather listen to Never Say Die than Paranoid.
|

it was album filler, they've admitted it and were amazed by how popular the name was. hell, the record company changed the albums name without telling the band, it was originally called war pigs. which is evidently what is on the cover of the album |
Paranoid(the song) was written in the space of about 5minutes, they didn't even know what the word meant when they were writing the song.

Hey look Teenage garden
Stupid. Anyways, I know good old paranoid is a filler i wouldnt know anything about rock if i didnt. It has simple lyrics simple but(kickass) guitar riff and solo. 10 min top I dont know about the solo actually its cool but but i dont know the distortion is cool sometimes but other times it sound really bad. |

thats what geezer says on the story of.. vol 1 i know it not really sabbath but has anyone heared the origional version of black sabbath and war pigs that are on ozzy's ozzman cometh album? |
^I have the demo of Black Sabbath, with the added verse.
On the story vol.1, War Pigs has its alternate lyrics, back when it was called Warpurlgis, at least I think they're the alternate lyrics, I know for sure Ozzy is singing something different to the album version. |
vol 1's version is better, the lyrics are defiantly different to the ozzman cometh's version
too bad they had to change so much stuff back when the album paranoid was called war pigs |
Vietnam++
I guess it saved them from getting even more bad press than what they were getting anyway. |
theres no such thing as bad press
|
Touché
|
Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath are the fathers of heavy metal, I think their best song has to be War pigs or their title song (Black Sabbath) the ultimate sinister riff it makes you want to walk through the street wearing a black cape and hiss at people. Or is that just me.
|
^Another one.
*sigh* |
the ultimate sinister riff it makes you want to walk through the street wearing a black cape and hiss at people. Or is that just me.
i think thats just you mate i think "warning" is a really overlooked song (is it a cover or not?) |
i am kinda positve warning isnt a cover but dont quote me.
I already did walk around in a black cape. just kiddin. I heard they got bad buzz back in the day about war pigs= vietnam |
sabbath got bad press for everything, even their name
but again, theres no such thing as bad publicity |
amen
|
Hey, i'm wondering, what sabbath/ozzy song has your favorite lyrics in it?

|
