Beehoover - The Sun Behind the Dustbin
It contains ten soulful anthems and incorporates a great number of styles and influences from heavy psychedelia, Americana and a perchant for doom (as would be expected considering both Claus-Peter Hamisch and Ingmar Petersen of Beehoover both play in German doom stalwarts Voodooshock. Think Black Sabbath, and then journey towards the heavy avant-garde and jazz, It's progressive, and if you're willing, you're going to discover a real beauty and an intriguing live band to boot. |

Wild Man Fischer and Smegma - Sing Popular Songs
Glad I finally got around to tagging this. It's a lot like Meet the Residents or any Residents demo before that. But with Fischer yelling over it. |
Wild Man Fischer is hilarious.
|
I haven't heard that record yet. But I recently got a Smegma record. And I've heard the Wild Man Fischer LP. Good stuff. Maybe I should try to collab.

Simply Saucer-Cyborgs Revisited
Simply Saucer is one of the most criminally under-recognized underground rock bands in Canadian history. A group that could splice the DNA of Syd Barrett and Soft Machine with Iggy Pop and the Velvet Underground, that could bridge post-psychedelic mind-altering electronics with a buzzed proto-punk urgency; Simply Saucer remain the ultimate hidden garage band. They broke up in 1979. But have reunited and are playing shows in Canada sporadically. |
I gotta hear that.
