Burial-Untrue
Really cool album. I also read his interview, he seems like a really cool guy, although I disagree with his thought that "underground music" should be really difficult to find |
Rodan - Rusty
haha what the hell is this band? first track is really slow, Slint-like instrumental. then the next song comes on and its a post-hardcore freakout. i dunno but i like it a lot. |
Giraffes? Giraffes! - Superbass!!
I wish the music was as exciting as the name.
Oh yeah for sure, I find myself trying to like it more because it's such a good name. Been digging Foals loads the last few days. Not sure how well known they are in the US or anything but they're getting noticed a lot here, one of the most exciting acts of 08 methinks. |

no i wouldnt. thats the same line of reasoning i got from being a Minus The Bear fan but it actually doesnt quite add up. June of '44 just isnt as good as you think i think they are
Hmm sounds interesting. I may have to check out Load Blown.
I could never get into Black Dice. They've got a couple really neat songs but most of it is just too obtuse for me. Still listening to Ariel Pink. Our radio station got Scared Famous and I wanna hear it. |
why do all of the Police's songs fade out?
|
Jawbreaker - Unfun
So good. Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Rust Never Sleeps |
Neil Young - Chrome Dreams II

Oh well I'll see how I go, they seem to be hit or miss based on the few comments in this thread. The Jesus Lizard - Goat Coachwhips - Bangers vs. Fuckers |
Tell me about Coachwhips.
|
Mice Parade - Mokoondi and Ramda
As Tall As Lions self titled again for some reason... |
Tell me about Coachwhips.
Really short punk songs with vocals that sound like they've been recorded through a crappy megaphone on an old four track. Fun shit. It's probably easier to just download Bangers vs. Fuckers. It doesn't take long, the album only goes for 18 minutes. |
That sounds cool, I'll check it out. Do you know anything about Pink & Brown?
|
A friend of mine once said that when he hears people blasting bassy rap music from their car, he turns the treble all the way up and blasts Coachwhips.

Theoretical Girls
Still listening to Ariel Pink. Our radio station got Scared Famous and I wanna hear it.
woop woop! Lately I've been drawn to music I would usually think is boring (Midlake, etc.) mostly because I need some sort of background music. |
Actually, update:
Elsiane - Hybrid She sounds like Bjork + Portishead + Joanna Newsom (slightly). |
Joanna Newsom - Ys
|
i would like joanna newsom more if it werent for her voice
|
why do you continue to post
|

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - The Underground Takeshi Terauchi / The Bunnys - This is Terauchi Bushi So lo-fi and Japanese surf rock. |
That sounds cool, I'll check it out. Do you know anything about Pink & Brown?
Now that I think about it, it's more like dirty garage rock, not punk. But great nonetheless. All I know about Pink & Brown is that it's one of John Dwyer's (?) other bands.
A friend of mine once said that when he hears people blasting bassy rap music from their car, he turns the treble all the way up and blasts Coachwhips.
Haha, I am so trying that out. Coachwhips - Hands on the Controls Witch Hats - Wound of a Little Horse EP Have you heard Witch Hats, bread? You'd dig them. |
why do you continue to post
Mr. Artist, big Equus, you're more like a fetus ! : underdeveloped . i can see your skeleton, it's frail and stale - where is your mind ? show me your wit, and i'll take you seriously ! until then, you're really just a fool to me . |
Andrew Hill - Point of Departure
Probably my favorite jazz record ever. |
It's a good album.
|
thats what i just said kage god
|
Have you heard Witch Hats, bread? You'd dig them.
Yeah I have, they're cool. I'd like to see them next time they're up here. |
Can someone please ban Perriwinkle?
|
perriwinkle is already banned dumdum
|
I mean you in general.
|
John Fahey - Transfiguration of Blind Joe Death
first time listening to Fahey, and I'm really enjoying it. Some really excellent guitar work. I've also been digging Stereolab, and far too much electro/dance-punk crap. It's all because of The Knife! It's probably a passing phase, since there's much more interesting music out there. But for now though, it's fun! |
john fahey is good to listen to once in a while
joy division - closer and unknown pleasures |
