Great tastes man.

I listened to Thick as a Brick awhile ago. Very nice album I must add. A must get for my to-get list now :thumb:

BludgeonySteve 02-12-2005 01:28 PM

My to get list would have about 300 albums on it if I decided to make one :(
i_am_jimmy_page, could you post the FA on The Doors this Wednesday please? I'm going away with some friends on Tuesday, and I'm not sure how much I'll be on between now and then. If he misses this, could someone else point it out to him, please? :)
Can he post it now? It's not like my Warren Haynes FA is going anywhere.
I've heard some stuff there good from the one or two songs I heard.

Today is Ray Manzarek's birthday.
That's who it was!!! Today I woke up knowing it was somebody's birthday, but I couldn't remember. I'm buying a friend of mine a Doors keyboard songbook for Valentines day, I'm excited to jam with her. Ray Manzarek kicks ass, I've got one of his solo albums from like '73 or something.

I wish I knew someone who played some keyboard or organ.

I played piano for about six years, then quit for saxophone, then quit the sax for guitar. Now I can barely play piano, although I bought an organ and I try to play stuff on it. She's really good though, I already taught her Light My Fire and she can play it way better than I can. (I can barely even play the intro)

Distant Echoes 02-12-2005 02:45 PM

I just want to pick up one of them cheap *** keyboards and learn the basics on my own, and when i feel im good enough at it, pick up a half decent one.

I wish i had enough money to afford decent equipment...

Freddie9 02-12-2005 02:46 PM

All I want to know is this (And to Badmoon if you see it)
How do you post it quickly, and together, in case someone sees it first and posts when it's unfinnished (if that makes sense  ) and will a mod know to sticky it? :)

I <3 that album.

zoso1121 02-13-2005 04:15 PM

the kids all in my school there all into the rap stuff but me and liek 10 other kids are all into classic rock and prog rock and weve got a little band going. covering stuff for now, im the guitarist and we just did Yours Is No Disgrace by Yes the other day, sick song. Anyways last May all of us went to see Yes on their 35th anniversery tour, best concert i have ever seen, hands down. Steve Howe is my idol and Rick Wakeman is Gods gift to the keyboarding world.

PinkFreud 02-13-2005 04:22 PM
Don't like the Rush or the GFR, but Birth of the Cool gets two thumbs up.
agreed. though i prefer kind of blue and sketches of spain.

IAJP 02-13-2005 04:33 PM

I've got my Neil Young unplugged C.D on now, I haven't listened to it for so long.
And zozo, you are so lucky, Yes in concert!
:angry::upset:
I would love to see Yes in concert, I bloody love them.

jpj 02-13-2005 05:26 PM

I got a Ben Harper CD, it's good.

ultimaterocker 02-13-2005 05:29 PM

i dont know why you all bash lenny kravitz. I've heard you guys say that lenny kravitz isnt original and that hes just a copier of 70's rock. Ifyou guys dont know hes been around since the mid 80's. He's got so much talent unlike what you guys say that the guy has no talent. I don't understand qhy people think that musicians can't play hard rock now adays liek kravitz does without peopel always bashing him sayin hes a copier of the 70's with no talent thats ridiculous. Personally Lenny Kravitz is awesoem and writes very catchy hard rock tunes.

1. your point about him being from the mid 80's doesn't lessen the point that he copies 70's rock.

2. where does he show talent?

3. lenny kravitz hard rock?

4. when do we bash him?

5. awesoem?

1. I have no clue who you are
2. He does write catchy songs. Just because he was born in the wrong decade doesn't mean hes bad. And just because he doesn't shred doesn't mean hes bad. He has a great voice, writes classic riffs, and can pull it off live.
