It is a little dragged out....but on the other hand at least they weren't making music for radio stations back then....it was what ever they wanted it to be. And really it;s not fair for me to say that. Cause they did get back to that thinking on St.Anger
|
I think on St Anger perhaps Lars may have been a little possesive?
|
Funny thing...."For Whom The Bell Tolls", i'm half away from reading it and i have to write a short report of all the 43 chapters. The big deal...i have to deliver it tomorrow.
|
Haha, I'm kinda in a situation like that. I have an English lit paper on Lord of The Flies on Friday and I haven't even touched it.

That book is crap, really. Children lost on a isle, nobody knows how they got there, but somehow they built a society, one day later they are savages and kill a friend, next day a fat boy dies and then soldiers came to the rescue..... Pretty much all the book. |

Any of you guys played the nother else solo backwards? sounds strangely awsome
|
Read Battle Royale instead, the plot is really naff and makes little sense, but at least it entertains.
|

record it? |
Any of you guys played the nother else solo backwards? sounds strangely awsome
No, but I will now.
Read Battle Royale instead, the plot is really naff and makes little sense, but at least it entertains.
I have no choice now, it has to be LOTF. |
Ouch. LOTF is by far the worst book i have been forced to read. well actually i would have to give that award to Great Expectations.
I would love to hear a recording of that solo backwards. |
No, but I will now.
I have no choice now, it has to be LOTF.
I always wanted to read LOTF actually, It could be alright. I have so many books to get through at the moment though. I don't think I've ever tried to play anything backwards...what gave you that idea? |
You know how in the final moments of the solo, it slowly becomes lower? well it becomes higher instead its pretty awsome
|
im playing orion backwards now. pretty neet
|
Me and my band were actually gonna do some 'Tallica songs backwards but in the end we couldn't be bothered.
|
The intro to Blackened on the recording is played backwards.
|
The intro to Blackened on the recording is played backwards.
does that make sense? Or am I tired. |
does that make sense? Or am I tired.
Your tired. He said the intro to blackened is recorded backwards basically. So are parts of MOP, just before the laughter. |
Your tired. He said the intro to blackened is recorded backwards basically.
So are parts of MOP, just before the laughter.
No I meant that it was played normally but then they reversed it for the recording. Sorry if I don't make sense. |
No I meant that it was played normally but then they reversed it for the recording. Sorry if I don't make sense.
Yeah that's what I meant to say :p |
does that make sense? Or am I tired.
I was thinking the exact same thing! |
Lord of the Flies isn't that bad. The movie sucks.
does that make sense? Or am I tired
It could. It's easier to make something louder by recording it backwards. Maybe just the first note, but anything besides that would be dumb.
So are parts of MOP, just before the laughter.
That's what it is! Do you know what notes? |
how do you know who play the guitar solo. hammet or hetfield???
|
Metallica Kick ***
|
how do you know who play the guitar solo. hammet or hetfield???
James has very pretty rock solos...Hammett tends to be more thrashy and Metal Hence James solo's on later albums. and hammett's on earlier albums |
how do you know who play the guitar solo. hammet or hetfield???
Master of Puppets there are two solos, they both play one. |
how do you know who play the guitar solo. hammet or hetfield???
Various websites, shows, liner notes, etc. (And what Brit said)
Metallica Kick ***
Yes they do
Master of Puppets there are two solos, they both play one.
No, I'm fairly sure they're both Kirk's. Usually any solo that is played live is played by the writer and the recorder. |
Hey Joe check my concert review
it was awsome |
James has very pretty rock solos...Hammett tends to be more thrashy and Metal
Hence James solo's on later albums. and hammett's on earlier albums
Actually Kirk still plays a big chunk of the solos on the later albums. |
Actually Kirk still plays a big chunk of the solos on the later albums.
Well yes but it's still very appereant which one is playing on albums like Load and Reload |
Well Hetfield didn't have any on the first albums. All of his solos came later, so you can make that generalization even though Kirk still has more later
The Trivium review? I read it. I wanted to go so badly! |
Kirk is basically Wah.
|
Kirk is basically Wah.
You can't say that. There's probably only a handful up until the Black Album. There's really only a few until then. |

The Trivium review? I read it. I wanted to go so badly!
You missed it? dang that sucks man Yea Kirk has more....cause he's the lead guitarirst...that's the only reason /looks shifty |
No, I'm fairly sure they're both Kirk's. Usually any solo that is played live is played by the writer and the recorder.
On S&M James plays the first solo in Master of Puppets, and then Kirk plays the second faster more thrashy solo. |
You can't say that. There's probably only a handful up until the Black Album. There's really only a few until then.
yeah, but i was refering to live stuff. |
On S&M James plays the first solo in Master of Puppets, and then Kirk plays the second faster more thrashy solo.
When I saw them live and on the various DVD's I have Kirk plays both And yes, RARELY in recording does Kirk use the wah pedal (excluding the Black Album) Off to bed, goodnight everyone  |
Kirk is basically Wah.
Kirk has said that the wah is an extension of himself. But he doesn't just use wah, he is an excellent guitarist. |
Good night Joe
I think I remember a video of Metallica at woodstock where James played the S&D solo....but that was a long time ago |
Kirk has said that the wah is an extension of himself. But he doesn't just use wah, he is an excellent guitarist.
I know he plays more than wah, but we were talking about solo's, Kirk's live soloing is basically wah. That's how i difference James soloing from Kirk. |
