Yeah, that's how it goes with me on the 2nd solo. Not that it's hard, but the end of it gets a little weird just before it goes into that blazing outro (which will be a pain for me to learn I'm sure). I think that the problem is again with the harmonizations. I'm so used to hearing the harmony that just playing one part of it sounds nothing like the recording.
I have trouble with bends in the harmonization. Im not too good with bends though. They dont sound the same with only one guitar.

lightningmetal666 12-02-2005 04:49 PM
LoL Sometimes I look at a tab and I'm like "Where is that?" i't's funny
when I sit down and learn a song
Even though I do it all the time, I actually hate trying to learn someone else's music. I have the attention span the size of a grain of sand and there's no way I'm gonna remember all of those damn notes anyways. Generally what I like to do is just learn the rhythms and figure out a little bit of the theory of the song and just improv my own stuff.

This builds your musicianship anyways.

HOLY CRAP, this is the biggest thread I've seen in my life!!!

But it's soooo stupid like this. Given how many Metallica fans are here posting, it's a no brainer it deserves its own forum! I can't talk Metallica in a thread with thousands of posts! Who can really follow this???

Hey mods, start a Metallica forum so we can discuss their music in there (without ticking off the Metallica bashers).

WE WANT A METALLICA FORUM!

Dude, shut up. Nobody wants a Metallica forum. A thread is enough.

The_Riddler 12-02-2005 08:36 PM
WE WANT A METALLICA FORUM!
...That would be a pretty lame idea. If you want a official Metallica forum, then go to their website onto their own forum. No point in making one here, if it were like that, every band with an official thread would have members wanting the same thing. It's fine like this, just follow the current subjects, you don't have to go to page 1 and read from there, that would be pointless.
On a side note, I GOT TO SEE FEAR FACTORY, SOILWORK, DARKANE, AND STRAPPING YOUNG LAD LIVE ON WEDNESDAY!!!!!!! If I can remember most of the concert, I might post a review here.
I love fear factory's music. Raymond Hererra is an amazing drummer. Wish I could see them. :upset: How were they?

Doctor Night 12-03-2005 05:45 AM
...And Justice For All just came on the random thing on my WMP.

Wow, that intro is darned cool. Not listened to it in ages. I love the sound that album has. So dark.

:smash:
Harvester of Sorrow!

Neoteric 12-03-2005 06:16 AM

..And Justice For All was quite good but it lost a bit of it's thrash goodness when Jason Newsted came aboard.

Jev 12-03-2005 07:12 AM
Alright. Which one sounds more like the Black Album and Master Of Puppets?
Kill 'em all I'd say. It's their first album and has some great songs on it.
Garage Inc. Is a load of covers, disc 2 is the best.

ThrashMaster27 12-03-2005 07:19 AM

Yeah, Garage Inc. disc 2 is for sure the best. They totally screwed the Mercyful Fate covers, just for the vocals.

I still don't dig the Motorhead covers either, they really suck in my opinion.

Yeah I didn't really like them. Maybe it's the fact their live or maybe it's James' voice.

Stormrider 12-03-2005 08:01 AM

Whats on Garage Days revisited ?

Apocalyptic Raids 12-03-2005 08:24 AM

1. Helpless (Diamond Head cover) 06:36
2. The Small Hours (Holocaust cover) 06:39
3. The Wait (Killing Joke cover) 04:55
4. Crash Course in Brain Surgery (Budgie cover) 03:10
5. Last Caress/Green Hell (Misfits cover) 03:28

There is the tracklist.

exup 12-03-2005 09:07 AM

Covers

I don't have it but I've listened to it. I think it's really intresting to see how they did those songs. But if you don't have everything else I would say get one of the other albums

drummer_mp3 12-03-2005 11:17 AM

So I was watching the videos from the shows at SBC and all I could think is Man, when are they going to start recording. Am I the only impatient one or is it time Metallica started recording for a new album?

BTW disposible hereos is great!

Back to the front!

It has to be better then St. Anger.

BTW you touched Petrucci also? Awesome!

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 12-03-2005 01:39 PM

Wasn't there meant to be a Metallica video game being released? What happened with that?
Of all the stupid posts I have read in my life, this one has to be the stupidest...
Really? Was it that stupid? I find it a bit hard and annoying to follow different metallica "threads" under one thread. But hey, I thought people would be for it but guess I'm wrong. I thought of this when I did a search for "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and surprise, it told me it's in the Metallica thread (which f*cking page I thought!).

Well if the search functionality is not needed and people don't mind reading multiple "threads" under one thread, yes, I guess my idea was a stupid one. Sorry folks, don't mind the noob

Jev 12-03-2005 01:56 PM

There isn't much discussion in here anyway. This thread moves maybe 3 pages on a good day, if it were to be given it's own forum it'd take up way too much space. Also you'd get fans of other bands thinking that this is unfair.

That killed their songs. I liked it without the bass. Gave the album a better feel.
