Oh god that would kill me, I hang with the emo hating crowd so I'm pretty lucky. We have Metallica parties, we all sit around and drink mass amounts of beer and watch either Cunning Stunts or S&M.

Jev 12-02-2005 07:45 AM

:( A Metallica party round here would be me and 3 mates.
Still emos in the mosh pit=fun.

Chris2401 12-02-2005 08:11 AM
I like both those songs. The load albums (I think) have some of the best lyrics that Metallica/James has wrote. One of my favorite being Fixxxer.

Outlaw Torn is great though, especially on S&M. The solo to that song is just pure amazing on that album. Bleeding me, another great song, but it doesn't stick out as much as Outlaw.

A song I cannot stand on the Load albums...just to say. Devils Dance. There is just something about it that sounds horrible and it just doesn't sound very good at all.
No one i believe could write a better solo for the outlaw torn...........
Have u heard devils dance on s&m?i think i sounds better

I don't know about better, definantly more epic.
I went to Her Majesties Basement the other weekend, it's a metal club in Brisbane city, anyway...

Between live bands they have a sort of juke box thing where you choose songs and they play 'em, it's great. Me and my friends put in Until It Sleeps, Enter Sandman, One and Mama Said, they showed the videos and everything, every single person in the club (over 300 people) were singing every single word, it was so great!
We have got something simliar too that at are local rock bar called The RoundAbout but the ownly 2 Metallica songs they have on there is ST Anger & Frantic. :upset:

Jev 12-02-2005 08:36 AM

At least you have a jukebox.

iluvkirkhammett 12-02-2005 08:44 AM

God that would be awful having only those two, I love the Basement, there is so much good stuff happening there, and so cheap, and the drinks are cheap. IT'S GREAT! And so many Metallica shirts.

Kyle 12-02-2005 10:09 AM

The scene round here is emo and indie, metal is outlawed round here. I pretty much hate emo but I like Alternative...not the new wave of it though.

I always thougth you were American.

Kyle 12-02-2005 10:25 AM
I always thougth you were American.
Oh really? That's a new one on me, anything in particular that led you to that suspicion?

Doctor Night 12-02-2005 10:26 AM

The music scene round here, is all stuff like Mars Volta and Radiohead, it's not that bad, but no one likes Metallica or Anthrax or Megadeth.

Jev 12-02-2005 10:27 AM
Oh really? That's a new one on me, anything in particular that led you to that suspicion?
I don't know I just always presumed.

Or maybe not, I kind of like having my music to myself...

Doctor Night 12-02-2005 10:36 AM

I tell my friends what to listen to.

Jev 12-02-2005 10:37 AM
I tell my friends what to listen to.
Haha. I got my friends into DT, Cacophony, Megadeth and so much more. Even my most emo of friends now likes DT.

Kyle 12-02-2005 10:40 AM
I tell my friends what to listen to.
All my friends listen to good music, except a few...I'm talking about people in my school who actually mainly like R+B or Hip Hop. I like some Hip Hop though, but not the rubbish gangster fiddy cent style.

Doctor Night 12-02-2005 10:45 AM

One of 'em used to drill Blink 182, but then I lent him 'RTL'

Exact same thing happened with one of my mates.

King_Of_Terrors 12-02-2005 11:27 AM

Okay. I have

S&M
Master Of Puppets
Ride The Lightning
Black Album
...And Justice For All

What should I get next?

Kill 'Em All or Garage Inc.

King_Of_Terrors 12-02-2005 11:33 AM
Kill 'Em All or Garage Inc.
Alright. Which one sounds more like the Black Album and Master Of Puppets?

Huber 12-02-2005 12:02 PM

Garage, Inc. is a cover album.

Kill Em' All is the thrashiest album.

I'd get Kill Em' All. One of the first pieces of thrash. It's damn good.

I would get one of the Load albums. Of course, they don't sound anything like the Black Album, but they have their share of great and memorable songs, and you should know that already since you have S&M.

Kill em' All is great also though. If you like their solo's then of course get that album. It's not one of my favorites, but still pretty good.

BassMasterMike88 12-02-2005 12:59 PM

If your going to get one of the Load albums I'd get Load, they only real good song on Re-load Unforgiven II IMO.

fatbandit 12-02-2005 02:00 PM

...And Justice For All just came on the random thing on my WMP.

Wow, that intro is darned cool. Not listened to it in ages. I love the sound that album has. So dark.

:smash:

Britton 12-02-2005 02:35 PM

I love playing AJFA...it's so shiny...or something like that

As for the album I would get Kill E'm All. It's lots of fun to listen to

Britton 12-02-2005 02:41 PM

It's a long song....but it's alotta the same stuff over and over again.

I've been studying for the SAT this week so that's why I haven't been on here very much.

I'm going to Trivium tonight!

And yeah, I dont know that much from the song, but since its repetitive, it makes it look like I know a lot from it :p

Britton 12-02-2005 02:45 PM

LoL That's funny.

I can't remember the last Tallica song Ilearned

Last one I learned was Orion. Which was a long time ago and a sloppy learning realy. Didnt learn all the parts.

I plan on learning the rest and perfect it one day though..

Britton 12-02-2005 03:30 PM

I want to learn the solo's

But for some reason I can't get into learing Metallica...not sure why

I can do the first two solos pretty well. I definitely got the first one down perfect. The middle part right after the bass solo is the only part where I seem to get lost, because of all the harmonizations and whatnot.

On a side note, I GOT TO SEE FEAR FACTORY, SOILWORK, DARKANE, AND STRAPPING YOUNG LAD LIVE ON WEDNESDAY!!!!!!! If I can remember most of the concert, I might post a review here.

I love the middle part after the bass solo. Thats the part of the song which I didnt learn all. Learned some of the harmonization here and there but thats it.

I got the first solo pretty much covered. Some mistakes here and there that I have to fix but no biggies.

Yeah, that's how it goes with me on the 2nd solo. Not that it's hard, but the end of it gets a little weird just before it goes into that blazing outro (which will be a pain for me to learn I'm sure). I think that the problem is again with the harmonizations. I'm so used to hearing the harmony that just playing one part of it sounds nothing like the recording.
