I really don't like Andy Warhol, as a person or an artist. To use the art-appreciation lingo, he doesn't "speak to" or "move" me.

SubtleDagger 11-22-2007 08:52 AM

I think Andy Warhol was an annoying fag

Warhol was awesome no matter what anyone says

he made a ton of money doing ingenious but kind of stupid work and he defined modern art

he worked smarter than other artists and relied more on pushing boundaries than actually creating worthwhile work, and i can't say i wouldn't have done the same thing if i were him.

Bukowski 11-22-2007 12:39 PM

"this song is for my good friend Andy Warhol"

right now I'm mostly digging Time of Orchids and My Bloody Valentine.

the Microphones are so great and i havent even heard the Glow part 2 yet

Mount Eerie is really such an amazing experience... i'm thinking i want to listen to the Glow part 2 the first time i do shrooms... is it that same sort of full and coherent experience that Mount Eerie is? like what would my experience be like if i did this?

Time 11-22-2007 03:03 PM

^^The album is definitely full and some songs are huge, its been one of my favorites recently...but I've never done shrooms so I dunno what that'd be like.

I just downloaded Lola vs. Powerman and the Moneygoround by the Kinks after seeing the Darjeeling Limited. It has some really good songs

Dumptruck - For the Country

this is sorta like REM if they knew how to play their instruments. very 80s.

Thanks 11-23-2007 12:45 AM

I never thought poor instrumental technique characterized R.E.M.

YDload 11-23-2007 12:59 AM

well it doesnt DEFINE them but anything with the slightest bit of proficiency could be seen as a departure from REM
