|
i agree, orion is a great song. nice avatar btw.
low man's lyric is one of my prolly top 4 favorite slower metallica songs |
So I finally decided that Fade to Black is their best solo. Now I decided that a long time ago but I was thinking that it really is the best constructed and his only long solo that was designed like one solo and not a few different ones smashed into one lead.
:D I definately agree with this!!!!! :thumb:
That'd be a fast alternate. I don't think you have to. I don't know though, I'm not a fan of that song at all.
Serious?! I ****en love Leper Messiah
one of metallicas best song is orion its just cool
Yep, my favourite song/s of all time are easily Fade To Black/Orion (They're both so damn good, I can't decide which is better anymore). Edit: I'm a bit disappointed Happy's spamming this thread up though.... Jokes ... |

Lars is getting married again? Is this marriage number three? Oh well, good for him. He seems very happy.
About the record, they need to get rid of Bob Rock, end of story. |

fave metallica song atm: welcome home (sanitarium)
my god its so amazing! also love the version of ride the lightning on the unnamed feeling EP, featuring the classic ad lib "death in the air, strapped in the electric chair, i forgot the ****in words" |

Is anyone looking forward to a new metallica album? I am, only because I would like to see what they come up with next. I read something the other day by Hammett and he said there will be solos in the next album.

Oh yeah, I'm definately looking forward to it. I hope it's more metal. |

me too. For the third and final time I will request: Can anybody reccomend me any medium difficulty Metallica songs to learn on guitar, As I just realised I don't really know much metallica except for riffs. I can play most of Motorbreath except for some of the solo, unforgiven and songs of about this difficulty but I would like to expand my Metallica song bank. If anybody could suggest a good Metallica song with nice riffs and an accomplishable solo it would be really appreciated...thanks |
Try Creeping Death.
|
Try Creeping Death.
Cheers Happy, I'm pretty sure I can get the rythem which sounds like it will be good fun to learn, but I don't think I can do the solos. I'm just not really fast enough to do them yet, but the rythem will be fun. any more suggestions? |
Well, I was gonna say Damage Inc. I know the solo sounds hard but it's easier than the CD one.
Otherwise, try To Live Is To Die. |
me too.

It sounds hard, but once you practice it a little, it's piss. |
No Leaf Clover is pretty easy on guitar, and the leads are easier, it being one of Kirk's wah laden solos and all.

:smash:
And I'm constipated Like a soothing light at the end of a tunnel. Yay for James not singing and me forgetting how the tunnel bit goes. |
thanks for the responses guys, I've just about got the CD rythem down now and it's really fun to play. I'm definately goning to have a go at To Live is To Die because I love that song, and Fade to Black and No Leaf Clover should keep me going for a while too.

Also memory remains, fuel, bleeding me,for whom the bell tolls |
Anyone like bleeding me and the outlaw torn?i think they kick ***,especially lyric-wise
|
I love Bleeding Me. I love James' voice on that song.
|
Anyone like bleeding me and the outlaw torn?i think they kick ***,especially lyric-wise
They arn't the best songs on that album, I like 'King Nothing' and 'Ain't my Bitch' much, much more. |
Anyone like bleeding me and the outlaw torn?i think they kick ***,especially lyric-wise
I like both those songs. The load albums (I think) have some of the best lyrics that Metallica/James has wrote. One of my favorite being Fixxxer. Outlaw Torn is great though, especially on S&M. The solo to that song is just pure amazing on that album. Bleeding me, another great song, but it doesn't stick out as much as Outlaw. A song I cannot stand on the Load albums...just to say. Devils Dance. There is just something about it that sounds horrible and it just doesn't sound very good at all. |

I think Ain't My Bitch is a terrible song. |
I think Ain't My Bitch is a terrible song.
I havnt heard Load and Reload and Garage Inc. , Am I missing out on anything ? |
Bleeding me is one of my favorite Metallica song. Possible my favorite song on S+M, you can tell that James is really sinigng from the heart in that version.
|
I havnt heard Load and Reload and Garage Inc. , Am I missing out on anything ?
To be honest for Load and Reload not really. Both have good songs on them but they're not really that good overall. Garage Inc. is definately worth getting in my opinion. |
garage inc i can't live without. load and reload are awesome, and i would definately recommend but not if you're not into any other style of metallica except for the early days, which is a concept i don't understand but hey i guess some people don't.
|
For some people it's a big deal that Metallica have evolved over the years, and so they don't really like the newish stuff. Which is their opinion.
Myself, I can listen to all their stuff, I love all their albums. They're great. |
I love reload. So many great songs I don't really want to go over it again. Load isn't as great as reload imo. Reload is an amazing album, I mean it's not really thrashy as before, but still, great album. I also don't mind that metallica evolved. Especially with st. anger. Can't wait to see what they're gonna come up with next.
|
I find the later Metallica stuff (post Black) tends to become a lot less memorable. There's some good tracks on the albums, but not as much that sticks out.
|
I loved Bleeding Me, Mama Said and Devil's Dance, they are my favourite albums off Load and Reload.
|
Haha I thought I was the only one who like Mama said.
|
I went to Her Majesties Basement the other weekend, it's a metal club in Brisbane city, anyway...
Between live bands they have a sort of juke box thing where you choose songs and they play 'em, it's great. Me and my friends put in Until It Sleeps, Enter Sandman, One and Mama Said, they showed the videos and everything, every single person in the club (over 300 people) were singing every single word, it was so great! |
Cool. I wish the music scene round here was more into metal. Instead it's emo and rather crap punk. Someone put on the original My Way and none of the scene kids knew who it was by, they thought it was a Sid Vicious original.
