What if they made like a part 2 version of some song on their next album? Which song would you want it to be? (ex. unforgiven part 1 , part 2 thingy.)
Enter Sandman-Exit Sandman
One-Two

Free over ice?

Bazarov 07-10-2005 03:01 PM

Maybe Lars will write a song aimed in retaliation to Mustaine. Like you know rappers write songs talking crap about another rapper, and they have wars with each other with lyrics.

Hopefully he wont. Those things are pretty lame and childish.

My old username was ExitSandman too. :amaze:

Bazarov 07-10-2005 03:04 PM

Yeah actually it seems Mustaine and Lars have made peace with each other now, so I wouldn't be expecting a song aimed at Dave.

after Dimebag died, didn't Mustaine finally forgive 'Tallica, because he thought they couldn't go on like that 'til they were dead?

Bazarov 07-10-2005 03:32 PM

Yeah.... he made peace with Lars in Some Kind of Monster, didn't make peace with James yet. Then when Dimebag died, he came onto Headbangers and offered an apology to Slayer and Metallica.

what slayer do?

Now they should make a tour togheter.

Bazarov 07-10-2005 03:37 PM

They should tour, that'd be awesome. But Kerry King is a dick and probably hasn't accepted the apology. But Megadeth and Slayer toured with each other with the Clash of the Titans tour. And I think that was at the beggining of the Mustaine/King fued, they could do it, if they stayed away from each other.

But then, Dave kicked Dissection off the Gigantour because they were "Satanic" and didn't want to tour with them. Man, Dave, c'mon so what if they're evil music let them play you don't have to listen to them.

Huber 07-10-2005 03:38 PM

Mustaine is still mad at Metallica for putting him in their movie. He said he didn't want it in.

Anyways guys, the Tool thread (I may have had something to do with it  ) is provoking everyone to work on their covers. They have one song complete, and two songs that need just a little more to be complete.

I was just practicing drums so my feet hurt. In a short while I'll be willing to record something.

I'd try and do something that doesn't have a hard lead part so we can have someone play the solo, I think that's what held us back from doing Seek and Destroy before.

Actually, that fued started way back when Kerry King left Megadeth...

classicrockman 07-10-2005 03:40 PM

Hey guys,

I'm a big Metallica fan. But I thought 'St. Anger' was just well...crap.

What's your opinion?

Bazarov 07-10-2005 03:40 PM

Yeah, but didn't he leave some time before the Clash of Titans tour? If not, then the tour went on way after the dispute started, and Kerry King is still carrying it on.

This question has been brought up so many times

There are a few good songs on that album. Frantic (just the Tic, Tic, Tic, tock, part annoys me) Some Kind of Monster, The Unamed Feeling.

I don't think Kerry King has ever forgiven anyone in his life, or at least in the music business.

Some people who have met him say he's a nice guy, but these feuds between bands say otherwise.

I could try the S&D solo. I can do most of it, I just don't really feel like learning the rest... and besides my recording program officially sucks. It was just my bday so I'm going to go out and by cakewalk

How about Nothing Else Matters?? Or something else off the Black Album

I'm totally for that. I'd love to do some stuff off of the Black Album. NEM would be a great one too.

My friend of misery?

classicrockman 07-10-2005 04:07 PM

That's the thing about Metallica: They're a amazing incredible band, but can I really forgive them after 'St. Anger?'

Will they ever record another album as good as 'Master of Puppets' or 'Ride the Lightning?'

Hey a boy can dream, right? Someday, someday.

If you listen to St. Anger and forget about what everyone else has made you think about it, you might enjoy it. There's a good number of people here (me included) that enjoy that album a lot.

Lots of people hated the album before they even heard it because they heard it was like "Nu-Metal garbage LoLz!!!1", but really it's rather thrashy and a cool new direction for Metallica.

Give the album another spin, you might just like it.

i downloaded the title track, and it's really grown on me - interestingly, you can hear where on it they would have put the solos, but its still great.

I agree. St. Anger isn't as bad as people say it is. It's acualy a great album. Although I do agree with classicrockman and hope they come out with another thrash album like Master of Puppets or Ride the Lightning

Josh 07-10-2005 04:19 PM

hopefully they will go back towards their thrash past, but i don't want an album exactly the same as a past album.

To be truthfull I have never had a problem with S.T Anger, I got it on 3rd june (I think 2003) I don't personally see why people have beef with it.

Huber 07-10-2005 04:54 PM

Glad to see some more open minded people who like St. Anger :thumb:

I went ahead and recorded the drums for Nothing Else Matters if you guys want to use it. It's on another computer, I'll see if I can upload it...

Awesome, I am a drummer myself, I am learning Master of puppets on guitar also.. I hope to cover the song playing it all myself!

Record drums, then bass over it, then guitar at the same time as vocals.. Wish me luck! I plan to do the same with Seek and destroy also.. That song seems much easier on guitar though.

You probably weren't around when it started, and the talk about it has died down recently, but there is a competition going on between band threads. Each is supposed to make a cover and enter it into a contest on the forums.

To the guy above, good luck man.

I can help anyone out to if they want (with getting the song on a server) I wanna help out with that so i can get to listen to it first :D Plus you won't lose the download ever unless i **** it up somehow

brettberry 07-10-2005 06:15 PM

about the new album, i heard that they are going to take a few songs off of st.anger and re-record them to better quality in apology for fans.
