Kyle 02-13-2006 01:07 PM

Thw Who and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are confirmed for T in the Park in the UK, that fesitval is going to actually be good this year. Reading festival is got to have something pretty special to match it, especially with Metallica confirmed for Download.

lilsolsman 02-13-2006 01:36 PM

The Books are good live, yesh.

On Saturday, I went to the Grassroots Media Convention with a friend of mine. I learned how to research like a librarian from two blue haired, lip pierced, anarchist librarians and cheat the Brooklyn Public Library and other reference sites. Then I made my own PSA. After a free lunch, I then went to a workshop on stencil making from a group of street artists who took us on a field trip down the block to demonstrate how to beuatify public property and make a statement. Good times.

And then today we started watching Ironweed in English since we read the book. I don't care if it ends up being a horrible movie because Tom Waits is in it playing a scruffy hobo.

Jawaharal 02-13-2006 02:45 PM

Goddammit, it only I was 18 I could go to that Dinosaur Jr. show, and I missed my chance to get good tickets to see Eagles of. death metal and the strokes. /cry

Sounds pretty hXc to me.

Kyle 02-13-2006 03:42 PM

This has puzzled me for a while, anyone wanna explani what hXc means? I kinda have an idea what but could somebody clarify, and where does that word come from?!

It means hardcore. When people use it, it generally means that they are militant, uniform wearing ****bags who listen to such bands as Tiger Army, hawthorne heights, dead kennedys and avenged sevenfold. When I use the term it just means I'm hXc (sic), or being sarcastic.

So yeah, it means HARDCORE. and for future reference sXe means STRAIGHT EDGE.

Kyle 02-13-2006 04:09 PM

oooo right, cheers for clearing that up. I've never seen anyone use sXe

JonM 02-13-2006 04:11 PM
sXe means STRAIGHT EDGE.
I have never met a sXe person that wasn't a total douchebag. Not doing drugs is totally cool, even admirable, but everyone I've met that identifies with that movement makes me want to smoke weed in their face.

Preaching to the choir brother. I don't give two ****s about personal choices but when they identify with the movement they adopt a whole new attitude and persona. Makes me sick.

This is why I like to go to hardcore shows and beat on them. Woooooooooooooooooooooo

Same here. I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs, but you don't see me pushing it in everyone's face like "lol drugs r fer lozers lol eye listn 2 mienor thret lol my iq is 7".

Happymeal 02-13-2006 07:27 PM

The grasssmoker punk who always sits across our table at lunch sharpie'd "sXe" all over his head when he got it shaved the other day.

Glitterati 02-13-2006 08:33 PM

I submitted to my first review to sputnik, New York Dolls s/t ftw.

I've never been able to get into that album very much. I do dig the song Personality Crisis though.

Hardcore is the most boring genre there is, but for some reason I seem to like seeing hardcore shows. Maybe because the drums sound cool at the local all ages hXc venue. Or maybe because hXc people are amusing. When I saw Rufio, they mentioned that they were singing a song about drinking, even though they don't drink. And then this dude yells out "STRAIGHT FUCKEN EDGE!!!". The bass player looked at him really funny.

Amen to that.

Ugh, sitting in computing class, so naturally, I'm posting here.

Happy Valentine's day y'all. What'd you get for your women/men?

My girl told me to make her something, so I wrote a poem and I'm going to mount it on something later, and then I'm going to mount her after.

ATM 02-14-2006 08:59 AM

Haha nice.

I got my girlfriend this painting of an asian woman. It's really cool looking.

Luxor 02-14-2006 02:35 PM

I bought flowers and I'm taking her out for dinner.

biografiend 02-14-2006 03:54 PM

I am finishing a mixtape I started working on for my (ex)boyfriend. Even though we decided we were on a break 2 weeks ago, we are still really close and he told me he still wanted it. I'm thinking of putting Climbing Up the Walls as the closing track, seeing if he would spot the irony.

.....or maybe not.

ColdFire 02-14-2006 06:33 PM

Happy Valentines Day to my Swe(ety).

And to Ryan............

BAH HUMBUG!

Luxor 02-14-2006 07:12 PM

All the cool kids run to their computers to immediately brag about sexual encounters. Right?
