What a great song. Why are the Allman Brothers so awesome?

Johnny B. Good 02-10-2005 08:48 PM
Did I not discuss? I told you the answer.

Blue Sky or Ramblin' Man or Jessica?
I like Ramblin Man best

Tough question. I might have to go with Jessica.

It goes...

Whipping Post is clearly superior to them all.

Woodstock 02-10-2005 08:51 PM

Whipping Post=In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed

Johnny B. Good 02-10-2005 08:52 PM

Screw you guys
Mountain Jam pwns

lunch998 02-10-2005 08:53 PM

I keep trying to bring up the best Allman song, then I think of like five more that are equally as awesome.

Woodstock 02-10-2005 08:54 PM

Midnight Rider is another awesome song. And Dreams.

lunch998 02-10-2005 08:54 PM
Screw you guys
Mountain Jam pwns
Well that just went without saying.

Dreams is good, but Midnight Rider, eh it's iffy

Woodstock 02-10-2005 08:55 PM
Dreams is good, but Midnight Rider, eh it's iffy
Iffy? No way. Great vocals and guitar.

Iffy? It's great.

Hah, both our replies start the same way.

Johnny B. Good 02-10-2005 08:57 PM

maybe I'm just retarded but I think I think the Allman's have better

Mildy, enough for the special classes, but not for the constant helmet wearing.
maybe I'm just retarded but I think I think the Allman's have better
Yea I would agree, but I still think Midnight Rider is a great song.

Badmoon 02-10-2005 09:15 PM

You guys should listen to Dr. John. You're all missing out, very much so.

Warren Zevon's The Wind is a great album ;)

Jam2Me 02-10-2005 09:24 PM

If Duane wasn't there for Ramblin' Man then it can't = Blue Sky
But IMO Blue Sky > Jessica = Ramblin' Man

I like Little Martha too, I think the idea of two acoustics just jammin' is cool, it should happen more often.

Illmatic 02-10-2005 09:32 PM

I love just about everything off of their first five albums or so. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be "Blue Sky" or "Melissa". Or "Revival".

JH LU KH RT 02-10-2005 09:35 PM

I like Jessica, One way out, whipping post

PinkFreud 02-10-2005 09:43 PM
I just rented

Jack Kerouac - On the Road

A definitive book for Beatniks and it of course features Neal Cassidy. If anyone hadn't know, Cassidy drove The Merry Pranksters' (San Fran Hippies spreading the word of LSD) Psychedelic Bus. He was also a very close friend of the Grateful Dead. They even wrote the songs "Cassidy" (Partially) and "That's it for the Other One" about him.
i recommend tom wolfe's book the "electric kool aid acid test". follows kerouac and the merry pranksters as well as the dead. you'd enjoy it if you haven't read it before.

and whipping post is good but i prefer trouble no more and one way out.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 02-10-2005 09:47 PM

Hello everyone!. I like Midnight Rider. Haven't heard Blue Sky:upset:, but Ramblin' Man>Jessica.

I only have Brothers and Sisters on 8-track, but I have some other songs on burned CDs.

I have read small parts of it in various books and sites reguarding Acid Tests.

But I'll try to get on it :) Thanks.

Yeah, that Werewolves of London song is great, and very original.

superpeer 02-11-2005 08:27 AM

So, I finally got the Doors' self titled. Is the booklet supposed to be so empty and lame?

unclebobscircus 02-11-2005 09:41 AM

Who said Ramblin' Man is better than Jessica? I'm going to have to kick your ***...
