Mine is about 6 minutes too fast.

You should have him listen to Natten's Madrigal - Ulver
honestly, getting that kid to venture outiside of music i consider CRAP is quite the challenge. I find it better to not mention what we are listening to, and let him decide if he likes it, then i fill him in after the fact

gmoneyguy 04-10-2006 12:44 PM
I can't stand people who only listen to one band heavily. It gets really annoying.
I go through phases, I'll listen one particalur band for a while move on to the next and keeping going until I eventually reach the orignal band again.

sneaky sneaky

:shifty eyes:

Deth 04-10-2006 12:46 PM

I don't mean phases, I have those, but people who ONLY listen to one band. I had a friend who all he listened to was AFI and Metallica, and he was the most close minded person I've met musically.

ATM 04-10-2006 12:48 PM

The drummer I play with can be pretty close minded. He only ever seems to listen to Alice in Chains and Led Zep.

everyone is closed-minded musically in some way, shape or form...

but if the person is only exposing them self to such a SMALL amount (i.e. 2 bands) than obviously talking to that person about music would be a waste of your time

superpeer 04-10-2006 12:49 PM

Where did you go exactly?

np: Amorphis - Privilege Of Evil
Kempervenne, aka, the middle of nowhere.

It does when you're a musician and all you play sounds like that band.

Jev 04-10-2006 12:53 PM

At the moment I'm listening to In Flames a lot.

Man I love In Flames.

Mr. Night V2.0 04-10-2006 12:54 PM

All my Music friends aren't really into metal at all, really.

In Flames is great. The new album is as well.

gmoneyguy 04-10-2006 12:56 PM

In flames does an awesome job of hamronizing.

kurrpt 04-10-2006 12:57 PM

i just DL'd my first In flames CD. Cant say ive had enough time to work through enough of it to give a good assessment of the band, or even the album as a whole.

Im stuck on Dragon Force, and still Nevermore at the present time. Learning Nevermore songs takes time

Deth 04-10-2006 12:58 PM

I've discovered my love for Reroute to Remain. Terribly underrated.

The April '06 issue of Guitar One has an article in it with Steve Smyth from Nevermore.

kurrpt 04-10-2006 01:02 PM
Nice. You know how hard it is to find other "extreme" metal heads in my area like that? It's like finding a needle in a haystack. So alone :(
It was quite cool, he must have been at least 40.

gmoneyguy 04-10-2006 01:06 PM

Hah, wow.

I imagine if I saw a guy here wearing a Gorgoroth t-shirt I'd flip.

Really? How come? I found it MUCH more enjoyable than STYE...

the2stranger 04-10-2006 01:18 PM
Kempervenne, aka, the middle of nowhere.
Never heard of that place

oh well. welcome back anyway :)

I don't know why. I've heard a few tracks and really didn't like it.
I don't know why. I've heard a few tracks and really didn't like it.
Ah.

I concede it's not Colony or Whoracle, but I do think it's a great blend of the old and the new...though Anders' voice I think is getting a bit tedious...somewhat whiny at times.

the2stranger 04-10-2006 01:27 PM

I only like Whoracle.
The typical Gotenburg Melo death all sounds the same to me rhytm wise, I get bored of it quickly.
I do enjoy Dark Tranquillity every once in a while though, they're not bad.

np: Naglfar - Protokoll Einer Folter

Stormrider 04-10-2006 01:30 PM

I never heard any In Flames. I have some Dark Tranquility songs though.

How is everyone ?

Mr. Night V2.0 04-10-2006 01:31 PM

Death on The Road is awesome.

Who thinks I can learn Jeff Buckleys rendition of 'Hallelujah'?

Better than I have been. I'm eagerly awaiting getting my tattoo on Friday. Woohoo! And one week from now my band's playing with Thine Eyes Bleed. Woohoo again!

Stormrider 04-10-2006 01:36 PM

Cool ICB :)

Whats that in your avatar BTW ?

I'm fine thank you.
I should get some studying done, but I really don't feel like it.
oh well, nothing that I can't do tomorrow.

how are you yourself?
Whats that in your avatar BTW ?
It's a cover of a Death album if I'm not mistaken
