Nostalgia 01-07-2008 07:07 PM

Yeah it was pretty sweet. I made my friend come in with me to the store, since I had four ziplock bands of change and it was quite embarrassing

Apocalyptic Raids 01-07-2008 07:10 PM

utterly jewish behaviour

Eliminator 01-07-2008 07:12 PM

have you mastered to the ancient art of headspinning?

Apocalyptic Raids 01-07-2008 07:14 PM

I'm more of a plate spinning fan.

Steerpike 01-07-2008 07:38 PM

I hate to complain again, but my brother is really working my last nerve. He's been crass and snappy with everyone all week and when we call bullshit, he just bitches about our shortcomings and yells at us. It's always our fault he's a miserable bastard, apparently.

Yeah bro, go a lot to Mexico, okay?

Don't get me wrong, this isn't for lack of trying. I've tried being nice to him and being supportive, but all he ever seems to do is wait until I stop talking and then criticize me. He does this with everybody.

I know our relationship hasn't been stellar growing up, and it was mostly my fault. But now I'm trying to change that. I just wish he'd stop treating us all like his enemies, lay off the criticisms and hostility, and just let us help him.

Apocalypticon 01-07-2008 07:48 PM

How old is he? It sounds like a tough situation. If he were young(like 15,16,17) I'd say its just a phase and wait it out as best you can.

I hate to say it but sometimes people just need to be completely ignored in order for them to change.

Steerpike 01-07-2008 07:55 PM

He's 20, turning 21 this May. He's been like this for years, too.

This is one of the reasons why I'm trying to move out by the time he gets back. I wouldn't be able to stand another whole summer with him.

It's just frustrating how he treats everyone in the family like a burden he has to deal with. He flies off on these wild temper tantrums when his computer malfunctions, then tells my sister to shut up when she vents about her troglodyte classmates. He puts everything off until the last second and then blames my organizational skills (or lack thereof) for the fact that he's going to be late because he can't find something.

I've had to cut people out of my life before because of negative influence, but this is the first time I've contemplated doing it to a member of my own family. Jesus Christ, I actually feel sick when I think about this.

Anglachel 01-07-2008 08:05 PM

Maybe once hes alone, he'll realize what the **** hes doing

Toaster 01-07-2008 08:10 PM

if you get your mom to tell him to shut the fuck up i bet he will

no one wants that from their mom
Maybe once hes alone, he'll realize what the **** hes doing
I can only hope. Two years of college haven't tempered his behaviour yet.

To give you an indication, my dad went out of his way and took off an hour from work to drive him around getting the last of the paperwork finished. My brother sleeps in until the last possible minute, blames me for being unable to find his checkbook, and yells at my dad for telling him they're short on time.

A couple weeks back, my dad finally talk him into helping him with the dishes, and my mom teases him in the same way she does everyone else. He snaps at her, throws the dish towel to the floor, and locks himself in his room in an act of spite. He then picks at the same issue like an old scab a week later because of a comment made in a conversation that had nothing to do with him and which he wasn't even a part of in the first place.

Aakon_Keetreh 01-07-2008 08:44 PM

Sounds like an asshole

Kage 01-07-2008 09:10 PM

Man I'm so angry right now and really restless as a result.

gmoneyguy 01-07-2008 09:11 PM

He sounds depressed, tbh. When my depression was bad I acted just like him. I had to figure out own my what I was doing was affecting other people.

k seriously

your bro: [immature complaint of some sort]

your mom: "why dont you shut the **** up you ungrateful prick"

your bro then goes up to his room and thinks about how much of a dick he must have been to get his mom to tell him to shut the **** up. he then cleans up his act

Kage 01-07-2008 09:16 PM

My mom's been telling me to shut the fuck up on a regular basis since I was 6.

My brother is 16 and basically the same. Nothing is his fault and everyone else doesnt know anything. I just ignore him or refer to him as the jew or just punch him and tell him to grow the **** up and stop being a dick. My mum wanted me to move back in for a while partly to help her while she did a course and partly so i could sort his bitch *** out. The regular beating hav started to take effect and he can actually hold a few minutes conversation now without taking a tone and bitching. You just gotta hang in there and reinforce his good behaviour i guess.

Your parents should be stricter on him. If hes 20 hes old enough to be booted out on his *** so make sure he knows it

ATM 01-07-2008 09:56 PM

Yay looking for a car :D

And I got invited to go to Guyana (country where my gf is from) this summer!

Deth 01-07-2008 10:05 PM

My dad said Guyana was a craphole.

ATM 01-07-2008 10:06 PM

Oh yeah?

Why did he visit?

gmoneyguy 01-07-2008 10:07 PM

peace corp prbly

Kage 01-07-2008 10:07 PM

Well, it is in South America.

Daven 01-07-2008 10:09 PM

Yeah Central America >>>> South America

:p

Deth 01-07-2008 10:09 PM

He had to commute down to South and Central America to set up phone switches (the big hardward) which ran cell phones and the like. Off the top of my head, I know he went to Colombia, Guyana, Bolivia, El Salvador, Ecuador, and maybe Brazil.

This was somewhere within the time period of 1997-2002ish

big80smullet 01-07-2008 10:11 PM

i wanna go to all the random **** hole countries in the world, like south america, africa eastern europe and central asia

Deth 01-07-2008 10:12 PM

Don't forget Belgium.

Kage 01-07-2008 10:12 PM

Nostalgia 01-07-2008 10:16 PM

Man, stuffing is like the best food ever.

gmoneyguy 01-07-2008 10:17 PM

My dad was in Colombia during the drug wars.

Aakon_Keetreh 01-07-2008 10:28 PM

Scary

Eh, I'm sure I'll have a totally different experience. I am going with her family to stay with more family. Should be a lot of fun.

Daven 01-07-2008 10:32 PM

Enjoy the trip man.

Tyr 01-07-2008 10:33 PM

All tropical countries would be fun to visit, but I'm absolutely terrified of spiders, so I always chicken out.
All tropical countries would be fun to visit, but I'm absolutely terrified of spiders, so I always chicken out.
That movie is incredibly funny(avatar)

Tyr 01-07-2008 10:36 PM

You've got that right, my friend.

Daven 01-07-2008 10:51 PM

If you stay clear the forests then you'll be alright. Big spiders, at least where i live, are not seen very often.

Tyr 01-07-2008 10:53 PM

But you know, it's the possibility that I might even encounter one. It's irrational, I know, but I can't help. Someday I might decide to go, but no rainforests for me.

gmoneyguy 01-07-2008 10:55 PM

Just carry you typical battle axe.

Tyr 01-07-2008 10:57 PM

I'd rather not be in axe wielding distance from them, tbh.

Nostalgia 01-07-2008 10:58 PM

The only thing you have to worry about here is like... bears and coyotes.

Tyr 01-07-2008 11:02 PM

That's more my thing. We have wolves and bears, but very seldom this far south. The only animal that could potentially kill you here, is the common European adder, and for that you'd have to be really unlucky.
