I don't like Run Through The Jungle that much

When do I get my stars?
I fit all requirements
sweet I just reached 1000 posts. :D
It is hard to pick the best CCR song but I like "Who'll Stop the Rain" best
Bad

Moon

Rising

Hehe...Fogerty is excellent.

ArcLite 02-10-2005 12:32 AM

I always liked Fortunate Son and Born on a Bayou.

unclebobscircus 02-10-2005 10:08 AM

One time, a friend of mine called me up and said, "I was just listening to the radio and that Vietnam song came on."

"Fortunate Son?"

"Yah, that's it."

:p

Badmoon Rising is my favorite CCR song. Its very catchy.

And the Hotel California solo is very cool. I haven't heard this in a while cause I'm used to the live version.

Broken Arrow 02-10-2005 04:36 PM

They played Thick as a Brick on my radio station today.

Woodstock 02-10-2005 04:56 PM

CCR were great catchy songwriters. Very talented.

I especially love the 11 minute jam of I Heard It Through The Grapevine.

Freddie9 02-10-2005 05:00 PM

I love the Willy and the Poor Boys album

Down on the Corner is freakin sweet

Yea, it took me a little while to get into them, but once I started to listen to more classic rock I loved them

Down On The Corner has the coolest bassline.

It was really funny, today during P.E, my friends and I were sitting on the bench and my friend brought this iPod stereo thing, so we were sitting there listening to bad moon rising, and we get up and everyone's gone. Our P.E teacher looks at us suspiciously and says "What are you doing, listening to CCR and getting wasted? Not in my class"

We found out later he was kidding and was a huge CCR fan.

thickasabrick 02-10-2005 06:43 PM

Do you guys think playing Down By the River would be too long to play at a talent show? I wanna play it, but I think the crowd wouldn't appreciate it, and get bored.

Brewer14 02-10-2005 06:46 PM

favorite CCR songs = Proud Mary, Born on the Bayou and Tomorrow Never Comes

Illmatic 02-10-2005 06:46 PM

It'll be easy to live in a van down by the river when you're...LIVIN' IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!!!

In all seriousness, I dunno.

MalcolmYoungRock 02-10-2005 07:01 PM

Depends, if the crowd likes Neil Young... if not, then no. If your school is anything like my school they'll be like after the first 3 minutes... "PLAY LITTLE JOHN!!"

Well I know a few guys who like him, but I'm not so sure about the rest of the crowd. I'm in a few classes with a girl who's related to him, but she hates him.

Badmoon 02-10-2005 07:10 PM

Speaking of "Bayou", I came up with a very cool band name.

The Bayou Runners

Yea, that's right up there with other Badmoon originals like...

Smell my Mule
Goldey Locks & The Daisy Eyed Trio

thickasabrick 02-10-2005 07:16 PM

Past band names I've tried using were Jambouree Junction and Wah Shrooms. Neither really worked out. I still plan on using Wah Shrooms for something because I like how it would look on an album/t-shirt etc

Badmoon 02-10-2005 07:18 PM
Jambouree Junction
Sounds like a TV show. I like it :thumb:

NP: Chet Atkins - Jerry's Breakdown

Distant Echoes 02-10-2005 07:19 PM

My last band never could decide a band name for more then a month until i quit...and their still changing it. I really like 'Lost Cause', but nothings ever good enough

Ever tried them band names generators online?

They dont work at all, but serve for some good laughs

Illmatic 02-10-2005 07:23 PM

"Lost Cause"?

No offense, but that name sucks.

pigonthewing82 02-10-2005 07:25 PM

has anybody in here heard the Grateful Dead's cover of All Along the Watchtower on the "Dozin' at the Kinck" I think that is Jerry Garcia's best guitar work

Badmoon 02-10-2005 07:25 PM

It is kind of Emoish, therefore not great. Though, I am not saying Goldey Eyes & The Daisy Eyed Trio is any good. :p

Lost Cause, that's a good one.

Jambouree Junction was what me and my friends called ourselves when we were in elementary school and we brought our harmonica's to school everyday and jammed together. When we got to highschool we stopped though, although last year we started up again with more of a percussion group. Although we still kept a harmonica and added my guitar. Mostly cool percussion beats though, snapping fingers, clapping hands, vocal percussion.

So I am now in Vocal Jazz at school, the first song I want to tackle would be a Beach Boys song, although everytime I suggest them someone says no.

Yes, Jerry does pretty well on that track. Though I believe he out does that on recordings like "Terrapin Station" and various songs from Wake of the Flood, In the Dark and collaborations with David Grisman. :)

Thats true, well my opinion is probally distorted because I just love that song.

Check out Michael Hedges' cover of "All Along the Watchtower". Fantastic cover :thumb:

I'll keep that in mind thanks :thumb:

Badmoon 02-10-2005 07:48 PM

I just rented

Jack Kerouac - On the Road

A definitive book for Beatniks and it of course features Neal Cassidy. If anyone hadn't know, Cassidy drove The Merry Pranksters' (San Fran Hippies spreading the word of LSD) Psychedelic Bus. He was also a very close friend of the Grateful Dead. They even wrote the songs "Cassidy" (Partially) and "That's it for the Other One" about him.
