They treated jason like shit and never played the songs he wanted live. He was a good bassplayer though. Listen to My Friend Of Misery

What songs did they not play that he wanted to? I looked like he really enjoyed playing Seek and Destroy |
I whatched the Some Kind of Monster DVD and it seem to the band that Jason left in hopes of breaking up Metallica. When they started recording and stuff, Jason wanted back in but the band didnt want him.

Thorn Within. It was his favorite song. |
I think we're all hoping for an album that isn't St. Anger style, but the fact is Lars basically runs the band, and he thinks that solos are outdated, there will most likely be very little solos. And we'll probably have to listen to steel snare drums again. But I hope I'm wrong and they produce atleast another Black Album style, but I'd love for another ...AJFA.

From what i gather, Larz only wants to go in the direction of what every other band is going in. I say who cares whats going on now, Metallica is the greatest heavy metal band of all time and the solos are what made many of there songs great. Without solos, what do you have? The same on going beat that gets anoing way to fast.
|
Fuck Lars. I dont think Kirk will let that happen again anyway
|
Yes, that's true, in Some Kind of Monster him and Kirk got into a dispute about this. Lars said that solos were classical and outdated and to keep doing solos would be trendy. Kirk got pissed and told him that all the newer metal bands nowadays don't do solos and to stop doing them would be what is really trendy. And Lars won.

lars is a drummer anyway what the hell does he know
|
From what I gather, In my own debateable opinion, Lars wants to get more or a drum solo or even allow the drums be significant to their music. Which is kinda understandable seeing as how he isnt that good of a drummer and he barely gets any kind of a solo in the history of metallica. Try to understand that Lars isnt trying to be a bad person, you would probably do the same thing if you were in his shoes. I just think that after what happened between Lars and Napster made him lose a lot of fans. It broke my heart the day I seen a bunch of I HATE METALLICA signs on tv because of that.

I was really heart broken when they cut their hair
|
Me too
|
Who cares if they cut there hair? Does it really affect the music?
|
i really don't give a damn, not even when they release their "sould out" albums, i respect them by their live shows and their old works, and if they can still play that i don't care how they look like.
and about the people saying we hate metallica on the tv, every band/person has haters. |

they aren't sampson, the hair wasnt they're power source
rofl Chill bro. |
he is the official 1000th person who think the hair cut was metallicas biggest mistake
you know what that makes them? gay! |
you are a loser!!!!
they aren't sampson, the hair wasnt they're power source
I didn't mean to say there hair itself was where there music came from. Getting it cut was just a sign that they'er getting older and changing along with their music style. I do like Load and Reload and all the more reasent stuff but I just happened to like the older stuff better. |
he is the official 1000th person who think the hair cut was metallicas biggest mistake
you know what that makes them? gay!
LOL bro, I totally agree with you man. You know VH1 did a documentary on Metallica and mentioned them cutting their hair like it was a bad thing. you know, i actually thin james looked a lot cooler with his hair short. he kinda looks like what i imagine satan would look like. |
So u sayin metallica's gay?
noooooo, dont go pickin fights now! |
The whole hair dispute is stupid, who cares. Long hair doesn't make a metal band any better. Anyways, I have a question to those who saw Metallica on the Madly In Anger With The World tour.
When I was in line to buy my tickets there were a few people behind me that had been going to all the concerts to see them in America. He said he lived in Vegas and had seen them 6 times on the tour already. He said that the first two songs they opened with everytime was first Blackened, then Fuel.. and then random songs. At the venue you saw them did they first play Blackened then Fuel? If you can remember. |
