Album sounds a bit flat in the production, kind of gets in the way of how much I like the songs. Part of the reason why I liked Ashes Grammar so much is how much space you can hear with the way they recorded the album. |

Lost Apparitions - Old Friends On New Planets Kinda like The Fall of Troy meets The Mars Volta |

ashes grammar is aite but you know too longgg. it's fun to chill to and space out but i just sort of get bored after a while. 'close chorus' and, of all things, the second track, kill though. oh also passionate introverts.
currently jamming flylo - la. this has gotten a shitload of plays from me this year |
how's this hold up compared to psychocandy
pretty well actually, better than i expected. the guitar fuzz is pretty much gone but they make up for it with better melodies. it's more along the lines of "just like honey" than "in a hole". |
nice i love psychcandy, def gonna grab that

i really dislike this :( |
i really like it. it helps to get the reversed version (where all the songs are forward) and play around with them. there was a point where i would start mixes with a released version of, say, opis helpus and then end the mix with the reversed ("forward") version. it's all interesting for different reasons. if anything, avey tare really wanted us to find the forward versions; the released version is just an incentive to hear music in a new way. been playing around with animal collective tracks backwards lately and it's opening up a lot, especially now that i've grown too accustomed to many of the tracks
there's a youtube version of did you see the words reversed that is wonderful |
