Anywya, the album is total worth it.

LifeInABox 11-12-2008 09:43 PM

Yeah im going to have to get myself one of those

jrowa001 11-12-2008 09:44 PM

i actually like tha album art, but the shirt doesnt look good. it wouldve been cool if the design was almost the whole shirt

Txus 11-12-2008 09:44 PM

sleepmakeswaves are so good!

jrowa001 11-12-2008 09:47 PM

hell yes! In Today Already Walks Tomorrow is so good. i need their debut

Txus 11-12-2008 09:50 PM

which one is their debut? I have in today already walks tomorrow and the self titled.

jrowa001 11-12-2008 09:52 PM

im pretty sure the self titled is their debut.

EDIT: oh wait those are both EP's. they dont have a debut album yet

Txus 11-12-2008 09:52 PM

Oh, it's only 2 songs. Good ones.

If you can't find it i can send it to you.

jrowa001 11-12-2008 09:54 PM

yeah ive actually been looking for it and i couldnt find it. my email is jrowa001@ucr.edu. i really appreciate it. i absolutely love post-rock EP's. imo they work better than albums

Txus 11-12-2008 09:59 PM

I don't remember many post rock ep's i have.

sent.

jrowa001 11-12-2008 10:12 PM

for me i think they pack more emotion. most post-rock bands overdo it on albums. or the emotion or beauty wears thin near the end. of course my fav post-rock albums are better than all the EP's i have. im just saying that i prefer shorter post-rock albums.

thanks for the EP, ill give it a listen soon

Song for the loved by Crippled Black Phoenix will probably be 2009's best song. Yeah, let's all bow to Crippled Black Phoenix

P.S.: You can listen to it here www.myspace.com/crippledblackphoenix
I'd been intending to make a post-rock thread for a while now and I think that a thread is really overdue.

From the ghostly soundscapes of Sigur Ros to the uplifting melodies of Explosions in The Sky, Post rock is a genre that a lot of people can enjoy. Many people consider the genre great to relax to and I for one have to agree with that as it is so easy just to sit down with a post rock album and listen. If you are not familiar with the genre, just imagine long brooding songs, usually of about 10+ minutes with rock instruments executed in a classical style. Discuss all things post rock.

Reccomended bands:

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Sigur Ros
Explosions In The Sky
A Silver Mt. Zion
Mogwai
Mono
Seascapes of the Interior
Alot of these bands are a major influences in our lives, and most of them have inspired us to play music all together. If you like these bands, you check out our band, Oriin. We are a post rock quartet from south Texas. Give us a listen and tell us what you think.

cheers.
